Chapter 431: Chapter 431: Leia Quinn Really Isn’t Dead

"Brother Moore, no money needed."

Lily Johnson suppressed her discomfort, picking up the clothes scattered on the floor.

The clothes were tattered, reflecting the fierce battle of last night.

How passionate he was towards her.

Yet upon waking, the man turned cold and ruthless.

It hurt.

Lily hastily dressed, tightening her coat to cover the marks all over her body.

"No money needed, do you still want a title? Lily, you think you’re worthy!?"

Frost Moore turned his head to look at her, his eyes heavy with emotion.

Lily’s heart felt as if it was being stabbed by a knife. She met his gaze, barely holding back her tears.

"Brother Moore, we’re both adults. What happened last night was consensual. Don’t worry, I won’t cling to you. Anything else? If not, I’ll leave now."

She knew he must detest her for lying to him.

If scolding her could release his anger, then let him scold.

"After you leave, remember to take some medicine. I don’t want any illegitimate child incidents, nor should you expect the child’s support to raise your status."

Behind her came Frost Moore’s cold voice, and Lily’s heart felt as though it had been slashed by a knife again, the pain intense.

She paused, but did not retort, leaving quickly before her tears could fall.

Behind her, Frost Moore’s fingers clenched and unclenched, ultimately smashing a fist onto the table, pain flashing through his eyes.

Was that sharp-tongued person really him?

Did saying those words truly relieve him?

No, with every hurtful word he directed at her, his heart ached in return!

Yet he couldn’t control himself.

It seemed only this way, she would remember him.

Was he developing a split personality?

The Miles family.

Amelia Miles and Damon Hawke came back in the dead of night last night.

At this moment, Amelia was still asleep.

Damon softly kissed her rosy cheeks and carefully got out of bed.

The ringing phone nearly woke Amelia, causing her eyelashes to flutter.

Damon frowned slightly, quickly reaching for the phone and setting it to silent.

He patted Amelia’s back gently, whispered, "It’s still early, sleep a bit longer."

Last night had been exhausting for Amelia; she wanted to open her eyes but couldn’t.

She decided to continue sleeping.

After coaxing Amelia back to sleep, Damon took the phone to the bathroom.

The call was from Chase Quinn.

Probably had something to report to him.

"What’s the matter?"

"Master, Gavin Miles suddenly died of a heart attack in prison."

Chase reported.

So sudden?

Gavin Miles was so young, how could he have a heart attack?

This was clearly fishy.

Damon Hawke’s dark eyes narrowed slightly, "Check who appeared at the resort last night for any clues."

Apparently, Amelia wasn’t mistaken last night.

Gavin Miles must have been rescued from prison.

And the person who saved him was likely someone from the Franen Family.

But why would the Franen Family save Gavin Miles?

What was their relationship?

Damon’s thoughts raced as he hung up and freshened up before leaving.

On the bed, Amelia was awake.

She struggled to open her eyes and yawned.

"Honey, who called so early?"

Damon was drying his wet hair. Hearing her question, he did not hide it from her.

"It was Chase. He said Gavin Miles had a sudden illness and died in prison. I guess you weren’t wrong last night; that person should have been Gavin Miles."

Upon hearing this, Amelia’s eyes opened wide, all lingering drowsiness gone.

"Seems like someone rescued Gavin Miles from prison. Could it have been that Franen from last night?"

"Unclear, but highly likely."

Damon draped a coat over Amelia, "No rush, I’ve already asked Chase to investigate."

Amelia nodded, a hint of worry flashed in her eyes.

"This Gavin Miles must have extensive connections; I foresee him being a threat to us," she said.

Easily escaping from prison without leaving a trace.

He was indeed like a venomous snake lurking in the shadows, ready to strike at any moment.

"Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, I’ll protect you all."

Damon embraced Amelia, comforting her with a gentle voice.

His deep eyes were full of determination and coldness.

It seemed necessary to keep constant watch on the Franen Family.

Smelling the male scent emanating from him, Amelia felt a strong sense of security return to her.

Yes, take things as they come.

No matter the storms ahead, she would face them hand in hand with him.

...

By midday.

Amelia Miles left the Miles Corporation to have lunch with Sarah Moore.

Seeing Sarah looking as if she hadn’t slept well, Amelia frowned slightly, "Brooke, quickly tell me, why did Frost Moore suddenly decide to leave? Didn’t he promise Lily he would stay?"

Sarah had dark circles under her eyes from a sleepless night.

Recalling Craig Landers’s forlorn figure last night, she felt uneasy.

"I’m not really sure, maybe he had a falling out with Lily,"

Sarah took a sip of water and sighed.

Frost Moore was known for being a devoted person.

But she didn’t really understand him.

At times, he was quite unpredictable.

"Didn’t he get along well with Lily before? Why have a falling out so suddenly, and a major one at that? Not coming back after leaving?"

Amelia felt anxious, "So, you won’t be coming back to Sea City either? How will I meet you then? Will I have to travel all the way to Vexia?"

Really.

This Lily really let things slide.

In just a matter of days, she managed to drive Frost Moore away?

Indeed, men are unreliable creatures.

Of course, except her own one.

Sarah looked helpless, squeezing Amelia’s hand silently in consolation.

At this moment, a waiter came over with their dishes.

Accidentally bumping into Sarah’s arm, he spilled her glass of water.

"Sorry, it wasn’t intentional."

The waiter hurriedly apologized, his voice low.

Sarah quickly stood up, wiping the water off her clothes.

Her gaze fell on the waiter, noticing he wore glasses and a face mask.

Sarah frowned, finding his outfit peculiar.

Why wear a mask while serving dishes?

Was it because he had a cold?

His physique seemed familiar, though?

"Be careful next time, why so clumsy?"

Amelia handed Sarah a napkin, saying to the waiter.

David Grant bent down, repeatedly agreeing, then backed away.

Sarah sat back, watching the man’s retreating figure thoughtfully.

Amelia was still thinking about her having to return with Frost Moore, grumpily serving dishes to her.

"Brooke, actually, Craig Landers is quite nice. Don’t you want to tell him the truth? You aren’t dead, but in his eyes, your disappearance is linked to him. It would burden him with guilt for a lifetime."

Initially, she hated Craig Landers for causing her best friend’s suffering.

But he wasn’t the real culprit and had been avenging her all along.

This served as redemption.

She truly hoped her best friend and Craig Landers could reconcile.

After all, there were still feelings between them, right?

"Elly, I promised Frost Moore not to reunite with Craig Landers. The old Leia Quinn is dead; now I am Sarah Moore, the wealthy daughter of the Moore Home."

Sarah sighed, saying.

In the corner, a man pulled down his mask, listening to the woman’s voice through the earpiece, excitement flashing in his eyes.

He had found her!

Leia Quinn was indeed alive!
