Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 414: Double-Dealing
The conversation made Olivia Fletcher’s face change repeatedly.
"Benjamin, are you going to break up the CP for a nobody? Don’t you know how big a loss this will be?"
In this era where everything relies on popularity, doing so would undoubtedly offend many fans.
How much impact would fans leaving have on his career?
"It doesn’t matter; I’m not an ambitious person."
Evan Ford’s voice was cold and clear.
Olivia Fletcher’s emotions surged, "Benjamin, do you really like her?"
Like her enough that you don’t mind ruining your own career?
"My private affairs are none of your business."
Evan responded, seeing that Serena Wells had finished getting her makeup done and had come out, he stepped over to her.
"We need to work, ask her to leave."
The man’s icy voice issued the order to leave.
Olivia watched him take Serena’s hand, leading the beautifully dressed Serena toward the studio, her eyes filled with resentment.
Evan Ford, if you’re so heartless, she’ll definitely make him regret it!
Inside the studio.
"Brother Evan, I, I can’t do this."
Serena Wells looked at Evan Ford, her face full of nervousness and unease.
"Annie, don’t be nervous. Just think of the shoot later as dancing. Believe in yourself, you can do it."
Evan Ford comforted her.
Consider it dancing?
Serena nervously swallowed, imagining how to face the camera like she was dancing.
"Ms. Miller, later you look at Brother Evan and make these gestures. You need to show the joy and excitement of lovers meeting after a long separation."
The photographer guided Serena Wells.
Serena listened intently, trying hard to immerse herself in the role.
Long-separated lovers?
Hmm, she does have a crush on Brother Evan.
Just perfect, usually too shy to express it, could she show it here?
...
The night falls.
Amelia Miles finished her washing up, and she sat at the vanity applying cream to her face.
Damon Hawke pushed the door open, glanced at Amelia, and with a slight smile, walked over to her.
"Wifey, you smell so good."
When Amelia saw the man bending down to kiss her, she pushed him away with some disdain.
"You haven’t taken a shower yet, and you reek of alcohol. Hurry up and wash up."
Damon raised an eyebrow, ignoring the woman’s protest, and pinched her chin to give her a light peck on the lips.
"Are you disdaining me again? Fine, you have a hint of alcohol on you too. Maybe you should take another shower?"
"Damon, you’re so annoying."
Amelia chided coquettishly.
"Such a verbal denial."
Damon laughed softly, rubbing her beautiful hair, and turned to go wash up.
"Wait a moment."
Amelia called out to Damon.
Damon turned around with a wicked smile, "What is it? Want to shower with me?"
"Silly."
Amelia rolled her eyes and said, "Tom, I want you to break off with Craig Landers."
Damon: "..."
What’s going on all of a sudden, asking him to break off with a buddy?
"What happened?"
"Craig Landers is such a jerk."
Amelia recounted to Damon what happened when she encountered Craig that afternoon.
Damon squinted his eyes, lost in thought.
Although he hasn’t fully regained his memory, with his lingering memory of Craig, he probably wouldn’t do something so indecent, right?
Not to mention his wife went missing because of that Selena Taylor, let alone that Selena is now his sister-in-law. He wouldn’t do something inappropriate, would he?
"Elly, could there be some misunderstanding?"
Damon asked subconsciously.
Amelia looked at him with a cold smile, "Misunderstanding? I saw it with my own eyes. Do you think it’s a misunderstanding? If I mistakenly blamed him, why didn’t he explain at the time? Instead, he accused me of being unreasonable!"
Men are indeed all jerks.
Is Damon planning to side with his buddy instead of her?
Fine.
"Elly, I think..."
"You think Craig did nothing wrong, don’t you? You think since Kiki is never going back to him, it’s okay for him to be with any woman?"
Amelia was furious, "Damon, I am very disappointed in you. If you don’t break off with him, then there’s no need for us to get married!"
The woman rattled off a litany, looking aggressive.
Damon, feeling innocent and speechless.
"Elly, I didn’t say I wouldn’t break off with him. I’m just afraid there might be a misunderstanding, wrongly blaming him."
This little woman’s temper was really fierce.
But after all, she was the woman he chose.
No matter what, he has to hold her dear and protect her in his heart.
Seeing Amelia about to say something again, Damon hurriedly said, "But whatever my wife says goes. You want me to break off with him; I’ll do it."
The wife comes first.
He doesn’t want a good family atmosphere disrupted by others.
Amelia saw Damon looking all gentle and considerate, and her anger gradually subsided.
"Craig is such a bastard; just thinking about it makes me angry. You are not allowed to see him or do business with him in the future, so as not to be led astray by him."
"As you wish, wife."
Damon obediently agreed, seeing Amelia’s face relax, he then picked up his change of clothes and went to the bathroom to clean up.
Arriving in the bathroom, Damon paused and took out his phone to text Craig Landers.
"Elly wants me to break off with you. What’s going on? Are you really such a scum, or is there something you can’t tell?"
He still refuses to believe that Craig would get involved with his sister-in-law.
Better ask what happened.
"She’s mistaken me, but it doesn’t matter. I won’t care about anyone’s opinion, I just want Selena to pay the price she deserves."
Craig’s reply came quickly.
Damon stared at the message, lightly pressing his thin lips together.
It’s clear that Craig feels dead inside, and nothing seems to keep him attached anymore.
But in reality, his wife is still alive!
His long fingers twitched, wanting to type something, but in the end, he typed nothing.
Wifey warned him time and again to keep it secret. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
If he revealed to Craig that Leia Quinn is still alive, he’d really end up alone forever.
Damon tossed the phone aside and took a shower.
Although he can’t tell Craig that Leia is still alive.
He can at least clear Craig’s name.
He can’t let his own wife wrongly think Craig is a jerk after all.
Damon took a shower, intentionally leaving his phone on the chat interface with Craig, then placed the phone on the couch.
"Wifey, help me blow-dry my hair."
Amelia was texting Sarah Moore when she heard Damon’s request. She pouted, put down her phone, and walked over to dry his hair.
While plugging in the power, she inadvertently glanced and noticed Damon’s phone screen.
She squinted slightly, picked up the phone, and quickly scanned it.
Craig said she misunderstood?
He just wants Selena to pay the price she deserves?
Paying the price requires being all lovey-dovey with Selena outside?
Is he playing tricks or purposely misleading?
"Wifey, look, Wayne says we misunderstood him. How about we wait and decide whether to break off with him?"
Damon wrapped his arms around Amelia’s waist and whispered sweet words.
Amelia came to her senses, threw the phone onto the couch, and tugged at Damon’s ear.
"Damon, has your brain been loosened up? I told you to break off with him, and you’re still in contact with him? Doing the opposite of what I say, huh!"
"Ouch, I wouldn’t dare! Wifey, take it easy. My ear’s complaining about the pain. It hurts me, but it pains your heart, doesn’t it?"
"Pfft, I won’t feel any heartache! Damon, where are your hands going? Haha, that tickles!"
