Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 406: What About the Miles Family?
"Alright."
Amelia Miles saw her father about to protest again and quickly chimed in.
With his daughter stepping in, the father had no choice but to agree.
Hunter Miles moved his lips, swallowing the objection ready to spill from his mouth.
Then Damon Hawke really wrote a note, asking Hunter Miles to pick one.
Hunter looked at this and then at that, finally picking up a note.
Damon Hawke opened the note to find it said early next year.
Hunter’s expression wasn’t too pleased, clearly not very satisfied.
After all, he planned for his daughter to get married by the end of next year.
"Dad, even after I get married, I’ll come back often to keep you company until you find me too annoying to bear."
Amelia Miles comforted with a smile.
She glanced at her younger son and gave him a signal.
The little guy was smart and evidently understood his mother’s intent.
So in his childish voice, he said, "Grandpa, my brother and I will often stay at your place until you chase us away."
On the other side, Dominic Hawke was relatively reserved. Hearing his mom and brother, he nodded in agreement, "Yes."
Seeing the smiles on the faces of the mother and her two sons, Hunter’s discomfort gradually dissipated.
"Well, for the sake of my two precious grandsons, fine, it’s decided then."
After all, his daughter wasn’t marrying far away.
He could invite them to stay at home anytime he wanted to see her.
"Alright, the first agenda is smoothly passed. Next, let’s discuss the second agenda."
Elder Hawthorne held the stance of being the groom’s family and should defer to the bride’s family. Once Hunter’s mood settled, he resumed speaking.
There’s a second agenda?
What could it be?
Amelia Miles looked curious.
"Both Charlie and Bea are Damon’s kids, so it’s time for Bea to change her name."
Under everyone’s gaze, Elder Hawthorne said, "I originally wanted Bea to have the same last name as Charlie, Hawke. But Kyle has had some tough years, and these two kids are of the Kensington bloodline, so I thought about it and decided to change Bea’s name to Charles Kensington. Do any of you have objections?"
Upon hearing this, Andrew King’s face showed a slight emotional change.
He had been adrift all his life, having wronged the lady of the Hawke Family in his youth.
He thought he would grow old without a name or place, but never expected that one day, he could stand tall again, and now his descendants could carry on his surname.
"Dad, thank you."
Andrew King was full of gratitude, his eyes slightly reddening.
Beside him, Vinny Hawke took his hand, teasingly, "Look at you, not sure what kind of luck you stumbled upon in this life, yet you can still carry on your lineage."
"It’s because I met you that my fortunate life began."
Andrew King held Vinny’s hand tightly, his eyes full of tender light.
Affection filled the room, and Amelia Miles smiled as she touched her younger son’s head.
She had no objections.
After all, whether her son carried her surname or not, he was still her son.
However, just because she had no objections didn’t mean others shared the same sentiment.
Here came Hunter’s protest again.
"Elder Hawthorne, these two kids are of Damon’s bloodline, but don’t forget, they’re equally my daughter’s bloodline. One is Aiden Sterling-Grant, and the other has the Kensington surname. What about the Miles family?"
Everyone: "..." 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
So, this couple still needs another child!
Several eyes turned to Amelia Miles all at once.
Amelia felt awkward and instinctively looked to Damon Hawke.
Damon chuckled softly, holding Amelia’s hand, "Father-in-law, don’t worry. For Elly’s next child, whether it’s a son or a daughter, we’ll let them have the Miles surname!"
Amelia: "..."
Not even married yet, and they’re arranging for her to have children?
Can she object?
"Haha, alright, let’s do as you say!"
Hunter was now pleased.
Next to him, Madam Hawke laughed heartily, "Elly’s first pregnancy was with twins, hopefully the second will also be twins. That way, one can have the Miles surname, and one can have the Hawke surname."
Amelia: "..."
Dear folks, could you not look at her with such fervent anticipation?
The wedding hasn’t even happened yet!
She doesn’t want to have a second child!
...
In another room.
Frost Moore and his sister were dining with Lily Johnson and their little one.
Sarah Moore observed Lily Johnson across the table, her eyes full of curiosity.
Frost Moore had already explained Lily’s background to her.
Knowing Lily accidentally stumbled into Frost’s room.
Though she hadn’t thought much of it before, examining Lily now made her feel the woman seemed familiar.
Something flashed through her mind, and her eyes lit up.
She remembered now; Frost Moore’s wallet had a photo inside.
The woman in the photo bore a striking resemblance to this Lily Johnson.
Especially those eyes, looking so similar when smiling.
If she wasn’t mistaken, that woman was Frost’s first love, right?
Brooke was in deep thought as she watched Frost peeling shrimp for Lily Johnson.
That attentive manner, was he perhaps seeing his first love in her?
"Brother Mo, I can do it myself."
Lily Johnson saw Frost place the peeled shrimp into her bowl, and amidst her shock and a touch of guilt, she was moved.
Being an orphan, due to her circumstances, she had always had to fend for herself for food and clothing.
She never had anyone treat her this well before.
Her eyes suddenly felt a bit wet as a desire to hold on to him arose in her heart.
She had taken money from Craig Landers and her task was to keep this man charmed.
But if she were to become his girlfriend, would her world not gain a new sparkle?
"Silly girl, eat a little more."
Seeing Lily’s eyes redden, Frost smiled and gently rubbed her soft hair, his eyes full of tenderness.
"Alright, Brother Mo, you should eat too."
Lily nodded, placing a piece of food into Frost’s bowl.
Observing their interaction, Sarah Moore raised an eyebrow but didn’t comment.
If Frost Moore could find a partner in life, she would be happy for him.
She just hoped they could find true love, and not treat each other as stand-ins for someone else.
"Brother, how did the evaluation go today?"
Sarah Moore asked casually as she ate her meal.
"The Hawke Corporation is a big enterprise, and their medical business is developing well, making them an ideal company to partner with."
Frost Moore thought for a moment before giving an objective assessment.
Sarah glanced at him, "So, are you thinking of developing in Sea City?"
Yesterday, he was all eager to hurry back to Vexia.
Unexpectedly, after just one night, Frost’s attitude had changed.
Could it be because of this Lily Johnson?
Frost Moore seemed to be pondering the question himself, not rushing to respond to Sarah.
Lily Johnson was eavesdropping intently on their conversation. Seeing that Frost had not yet replied, she looked up at him.
"Brother Mo, Sea City is a wonderful place with plenty of talent and resources; it’s a great place to develop."
Hearing these words, Frost looked at her, "Do you want me to stay and develop here?"
"Mm-hmm."
Lily’s eyes flickered, "If you stay to develop, I can see you more often."
This was her genuine thought.
Not just to complete her assignment.
She truly wanted to see him often!
