Chapter 318: Chapter 318: Testing the Waters

Crestview Hospital.

Dominic Hawke and Bea were brought to the hospital by their bodyguard after school.

"Daddy."

The two little ones walked up to the bed and called out "Daddy" in unison to George Harris, their faces full of worry.

George Harris glanced at the two little ones and responded with a faint "hmm."

His gaze fell on Elara Don, who was peeling an apple, "Elly, these are our sons, right? I’m really something, getting you pregnant with two at once. Once I’m feeling a bit better, let’s keep trying for two more."

Elara Don exerted a little too much force while peeling the apple, nearly cutting her finger.

She looked up at George Harris with a glance, unable to suppress her repulsion.

The man’s words were crude and unrefined, nothing like what a nobleman’s son would say.

Did this fall really knock all his original personality out of him?

Elara Don suppressed her doubts and sliced the apple, bringing it to the bedside.

"Charlie, Bea, have some fruit."

"Oh."

The two little ones looked at the man on the bed, then at Elara Don, their bright eyes equally filled with confusion.

"Daddy, do you really not remember us?"

Bea asked while eating a piece of apple fed to him by Elara Don, unable to resist.

George Harris cast a sidelong glance at him, "I don’t remember."

After speaking, he looked at Elara Don with dissatisfaction, "Elly, why are you only giving them fruit? What about me?"

Elara Don was speechless, spearing a piece of fruit and bringing it to his mouth.

"Mmm, really sweet."

George Harris enjoyed the fruit with delight.

Looking at Elara Don’s pretty face, he felt itchy inside.

Such a beautiful woman, he really wanted to devour her right now.

"You should head back early, no need to sit here doing nothing."

George Harris glanced at the two little kids, a trace of disdain flashing in his eyes.

The two brothers exchanged a glance, feeling that something was off.

Why was Daddy so impatient with them?

No sense of affection at all.

At that moment, a bottle fell out of Bea’s pocket.

Everyone’s gaze turned to the ground.

It was a small bottle containing insects.

George Harris was eating fruit, and as he glanced over inadvertently and spotted the insects in the bottle, he exclaimed, "What is that?"

His voice suddenly rose, tinged with an oddity.

Elara Don instinctively glanced at him, her almond eyes flickered slightly.

"Tom, this is a bug Bea plays with, what’s wrong? Are you that scared?"

"Bugs? You little rascal, don’t you have anything else to play with? Playing with bugs? Isn’t it disgusting? Hurry and throw it away!"

George Harris looked full of disgust, coupled with a hint of nervousness, constantly retreating into the bed.

This was an instinctual fear of a creature.

He was afraid of bugs.

But Damon had never shown any fear of bugs before.

Elara Don’s doubts reemerged.

She glanced at the frowning Bea and then at her eldest son.

"Charlie, have you fallen behind in a lot of your studies these past few days? Before you go back, if there’s anything you don’t understand, quickly ask your daddy."

She wanted to test further, to see if Damon’s intellect had been knocked out.

Dominic Hawke glanced at Elara Don, a hint of confusion in his eyes.

When had he fallen behind in his studies?

Why did Mommy say such things?

However, being smarter than other kids, he wisely kept his mouth shut without asking, instead pulling out his tablet from his school bag.

"Daddy, I’ve encountered a difficult problem, can you help me analyze it?"

Daddy was a computer expert too. He did have a minor issue in programming recently and could discuss it with his father.

George Harris just snapped out of the surprise from the bugs.

He furrowed his brows, looking at Dominic Hawke impatiently, "What problem?"

He assumed kids aged three or four wouldn’t have bigger problems than inability to solve arithmetic tasks.

But when he saw the string of incomprehensible code on the tablet, he was dumbfounded, mouth agape.

What is this?

Computer code?

Is this kid possessed by some wizard or ghost?

At just three or four years old, fiddling with such high-tech stuff, which even he didn’t understand?

"Daddy, you’re stumped too?"

Dominic Hawke observed Damon’s bewildered look, his little brows furrowed.

It shouldn’t be!

With Daddy’s computer skills, such a problem shouldn’t stump him, right?

"Ah, I, I have a headache."

George Harris’s eyes flickered, clutching his head and groaning.

"How come you suddenly have a headache? Is it from thinking too much? I’ll get the doctor for you."

Elara Don, who had been observing George Harris, said.

"No need, just have them leave, and make sure I don’t have to think anymore." George Harris hastily said.

Elara Don pursed her lips, pulling the two little ones into her embrace.

"Okay, I’ll take them out first."

This man was problematic, perhaps he’s not Damon at all!

"Mommy, how did Daddy become like a different person after a fall?"

Outside the ward, Bea raised his eyes to look at Elara Don, his little brow knitted.

"Mommy, were you testing Daddy just now?"

Dominic Hawke’s little face showed a grave expression.

Elara Don patted the heads of the two little ones, then plucked two hairs from Dominic’s head.

"You two behave and go back, don’t overthink it, and take care of great-grandfather and great-grandmother."

She was unable to draw a conclusion just yet.

She would only come to a conclusion after she did something.

Dominic Hawke felt a slight pain at the crown of his head. He touched his little head, blinking at Elara Don.

Did Mommy just pluck his hair?

Why did Mommy pluck his hair?

Could it be to run a genetic comparison with the current Daddy?

Mommy suspected that the current Daddy wasn’t the real Daddy!

Elara Don had the bodyguard send the brothers back, then took a deep breath and returned to the ward.

In the ward, George Harris was lying comfortably on the bed, having finished a plate of fruit.

Seeing Elara Don come in, his eyes lit up.

"Honey, are you tired? Come over here, come to hubby"

Elara Don suppressed her disgust inside, smiling as she walked over to the bedside.

"Is your head still hurting? Do you really not need a doctor?"

"No need for a doctor. If you really care about me, why not give me a massage?"

George Harris took the opportunity to grab Elara Don’s hand, touch and caress it.

Elara Don suppressed her inner aversion and discreetly withdrew her hand from his, then said, "Okay, I’ll give you a massage."

She needed to pull out two of his hairs to see if he was truly Damon.

"Elly, your hands are so soft, your body smells so lovely."

George Harris enjoyed Elara Don’s service, his hand restlessly reaching to pull her.

Elara Don secretly kept the hair she pulled, suppressing her disgust and softening her voice deliberately.

"Tom, your body isn’t recovered yet, once you are, I’ll let you do whatever you want."

"Elly, my head hurts, but there’s nothing wrong in that aspect." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

George Harris pulled Elara Don into his arms, eyes filled with desire.

The smile on Elara Don’s face faded.

"Tom, be good, rest well, otherwise I won’t pay you any attention."

Seeing Elara Don’s face turn cold, George Harris felt disheartened.

"Alright, alright, I’ll listen to you, okay?"

In a couple of days, he must have her.
