Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 303: You Should Know What I Care About
Future uncle.
Damon Hawke glanced at her hand, "Helen, you shouldn’t call me uncle. If you really marry Cole Hawke in the future, you should call me cousin."
Upon hearing this, the smile on Helen’s face paused, and a hint of doubt flashed in her eyes.
She looked at Elara Don, "Charlotte, what does he mean by that?"
Elara Don opened her lips, about to speak, when the doorbell rang.
"Who could it be this late? Charlotte, wait a moment, I’ll go see who it is first."
Helen had no idea Cole Hawke would come, and after saying a word to Elara Don, she ran to open the door.
"Oh, Arthur? Why are you here?"
Seeing it was Cole Hawke, Helen looked surprised and delighted.
Cole Hawke didn’t speak but glanced inside before walking in.
"Hey, Arthur, I’m asking you a question here."
Helen, seeing Cole Hawke ignoring her, followed behind him, dissatisfied.
Cole Hawke had no time to care for her; he glanced at Elara Don, then looked at Damon Hawke, speechless for a moment.
He knew the truth.
Who told him?
It should be Elara Don!
Elara Don settled his affairs, so she told Damon Hawke the truth?
Can they be happy together from now on?
"Why are none of you speaking? Did something happen?"
Helen wasn’t naive; seeing Cole Hawke and Damon Hawke exchanging looks but not speaking, she knew something was going on that she didn’t know about.
Elara Don pulled Helen aside, intending to no longer hide it from her.
"Helen, didn’t you previously ask me why I wanted your help? It’s because I needed Senior to help me hide something."
Elara Don paused, glanced at Damon Hawke again, "Tom’s identity is quite complicated. He and Senior aren’t actually uncle and nephew; they’re cousins."
Upon hearing this, Helen was visibly taken aback.
She looked at Damon Hawke, then at Cole Hawke, "Charlotte, quickly tell me what’s actually going on?"
"Alright, come here. I’ll tell you the whole story."
Elara Don pulled Helen to a corner and quietly explained the situation.
In the living room, Damon Hawke gestured for Cole Hawke to sit.
Cole Hawke didn’t speak either, just sat down as he was told.
"Aside from you, who else knows about my identity?"
Damon Hawke looked at Cole Hawke and asked.
"My dad knows. As for anyone else, I’m not sure."
Cole Hawke pulled out a cigarette pack, threw a cigarette to Damon Hawke, and lit one for himself.
Damon Hawke played with the cigarette and asked, "And the elder brother, no, I should call him uncle, what’s his intention?"
"What do you think his intention is? Of course, he wants me to take over as the CEO of the Hawke Corporation."
Cole Hawke took a puff and blew out a series of smoke rings.
Damon Hawke raised his eyes, paused, and said, "Arthur, why didn’t you tell me earlier? If you had told me earlier, I wouldn’t clench onto the CEO position in the Hawke Corporation so tightly."
Being an outsider, yet sitting in the position of power in the Hawke Corporation, his uncle must have had a lot of discontent, right?
Should he be grateful that his uncle didn’t expose his identity to the public for power, preserving a bit of dignity for him and his mother?
Although he didn’t think it was that big of a deal.
But considering his mother was holding onto this secret, she might be very concerned.
There might have been some unspeakable things between his parents.
And in those days, a noblewoman having a child out of wedlock wasn’t a respectable matter.
"Do you think I crave that position? Damon Hawke, you should know what I care about."
Cole Hawke took a deep drag on the cigarette and said irritably.
What he cared about was Elara Don.
Otherwise, why would he use this secret to threaten Elara Don to break up with him?
Damon Hawke pursed his thin lips, "Arthur, I can give up anything, but I won’t give up the woman I love. You better give up on that idea sooner."
"Oh really! But what if I insist on competing with you? Aren’t you afraid I’ll expose your identity and cause you and your parents to lose face?"
Cole Hawke coldly retorted.
The atmosphere around Damon Hawke suddenly turned icy, "Arthur, you can try and see if I care."
The man’s expression turned chilling, exuding an intimidating presence.
Cole Hawke looked at him, equally cold and silent.
Their eyes met, and there seemed to be an invisible interplay of light and shadow in the air.
Elara Don had finished explaining to Helen and, seeing the tense stance between the two, quickly went over.
"You two, speak it out calmly."
"Exactly, Arthur, what more do you want? Don’t forget, you’re my man now."
Helen also walked over and said.
"Shut up, we’re discussing matters, why are you, an outsider, butting in?"
Cole Hawke glared at her, chest heaving.
"How am I an outsider? I’m going to marry you."
"Who said I would marry you?"
"You..."
"Alright, alright, stop arguing."
Elara Don saw the two were about to quarrel and quickly pulled Helen behind her, shaking her head at her.
Helen turned her head angrily, saying nothing.
Elara Don looked at Cole Hawke, "Senior, let’s lay everything on the table today. Tom already knows about his identity, and he said he wouldn’t mind. And you’re a member of the Hawthorne, I guess you wouldn’t want this matter to spread everywhere, right? After all, the Hawke Group’s future will fall on your shoulders, and you wouldn’t want any turmoil in the Hawke Group because of this, would you?"
At this moment, using any leverage to threaten Cole Hawke might backfire.
It’s better to persuade calmly; perhaps he would listen.
"Do I really care about the position of Hawke Group’s leader?"
Cole Hawke replied with disdain.
Elara Don curved her lips gently, "I know you’re not an ambitious person. Otherwise, with Tom’s weakness in your hand, you would have already used this matter to threaten him to leave the Hawke Group, wouldn’t you?"
Cole Hawke glanced at her, his icy demeanor slightly softened.
Opposite him, Damon Hawke narrowed his eyes, a trace of displeasure flitting across his face.
It felt like his woman was coaxing another man.
He didn’t like it!
"Senior, no matter what, Tom won’t be the Hawke Group’s leader anymore, you’re the future successor. At this point, for the Hawke Group’s sake, I think we should keep this secret and not let others find out. Otherwise, if someone with bad intentions utilizes it, it will cause trouble."
Elara Don looked at Cole Hawke, continuing in a soft voice.
Cole Hawke looked at Damon Hawke, turned his head, and irritably said, "I never intended to spread this matter."
He was only trying his luck, hoping Elara Don would break up with Damon Hawke.
Unexpectedly, Elara Don turned the tables on him, really breaking up with Damon Hawke.
And found someone in Country F to set him up.
Resulting in him...
Cole Hawke looked at Helen, and something suddenly flashed through his mind.
