Chapter 254: Chapter 254: I Won’t Let You Marry Him

Everyone at the table turned their gaze to her.

Selena quickly apologized, "Sorry, my hand slipped."

"Get a new spoon for the young mistress."

Wright, sitting nearby, glanced at Selena and casually gave the order.

Though his tone was indifferent, it sent a chill down Selena’s spine.

Her hand unconsciously reached for her arm, her face turning slightly pale.

Ever since Wright saw her hugging Craig, his attitude towards her had changed.

In the past, he used to be gentle and considerate with her.

Even when doing intimate things, he took her feelings into account.

But now, whenever she’s with him, he disregards her wishes, with no foreplay and no tenderness.

She said it was inconvenient during the first three months, so he made her serve him in other ways.

If she refused, he found ways to torment her.

He never used to yell at her or hit her, but now, he no longer respected her.

She wanted a divorce, but he threatened her to go ahead and try.

She didn’t dare, because she knew she couldn’t possibly divorce him.

Her family had to rely on the Landers family.

Most importantly, if they really reached the point of divorce, he would ruin her reputation.

Selena lowered her gaze slightly, her eyes dropping to her abdomen, a flash of hatred crossing her eyes.

Why should she bear offspring for the Landers family?

She loathed Wright!

Selena slowly lifted her gaze, facing Leia and Craig seated across from her.

The two still appeared deeply affectionate, looking exceptionally happy.

Once, such happiness belonged only to her.

But now...

A glint of determination flashed in Selena’s eyes.

She wouldn’t let Leia replace her in Craig’s heart!

After dinner, the brothers Craig and Wright were called upstairs by Mr. Lockwood.

Leia and Selena sat on the sofa, eating the fruits brought over by the servants.

Selena touched her abdomen and looked at Mrs. Landers coming from the kitchen.

"Mom, it’s Leia’s first time at the old house, and she hasn’t toured the garden yet. I’ll take her for a walk and help digest the meal."

Mrs. Landers readily agreed at these words.

"Alright, go ahead."

To her, if the sisters-in-law got along like real sisters, she welcomed it.

"Leia, let’s go."

Selena stood up, smiling as she spoke.

Leia glanced at her, intending to keep her distance.

After all, this Selena was a fake innocent; who knows what she was plotting.

It wasn’t unheard of; last time, she deliberately fell down the stairs in front of Craig.

But since Mrs. Landers had spoken, further excuses from Leia would make her seem ungenerous.

Thinking this, she smiled faintly, touched the phone in her pocket, and followed out.

She’d deal with whatever came her way, one move at a time.

Selena took Leia for a walk around.

The Landers family garden was large, designed with a touch of a traditional scenic style.

A small bridge connected to a long corridor.

Below was a wide expanse of water.

Selena stopped on the bridge, looking at the night scene ahead.

In the dark, several streetlights adorned the estate, casting light on the shimmering water surface.

"Selena, why did you call me out here?"

Leia asked coolly.

She didn’t believe Selena just wanted to stroll with her.

Their relationship wasn’t that good.

"What could I want? Oh, by the way, congrats, you’re soon to be married."

Selena glanced at the nearby servants, her smile charming.

Leia looked at her and smirked slightly, "Selena, aren’t you tired of pretending? Watching you is exhausting. If you really have nothing, I’m tired from walking and will head back first."

She hoped she wasn’t overthinking and that Selena only wanted a stroll together.

"Leia, what if I told you you caused the death of my child, what then?"

Selena grabbed Leia’s arm in a sisterly way and whispered in her ear.

Leia’s brows knitted slightly, "Selena, what are you planning? Don’t forget it’s your child; can you really harm your flesh and blood?"

Is this woman crazy?

What antics was she up to now?

"Just a piece of insensible flesh, if lost, so be it. I can always have one with the man I love later!"

Selena gripped Leia’s arm tightly, preventing her from escaping.

Leia’s brows furrowed deeper, "Selena, what are you up to? You’re the Landers family’s noble wife, why hanker after what’s not yours? Craig is your brother-in-law now."

This woman even wants a child with Craig!

She should seek a therapist.

"Leia, Craig is mine! Why would you take him? Without you, he would only have me in his heart. It’s all your fault! I won’t let you marry him!"

Selena’s face twisted, catching sight of the two brothers approaching the bridge.

This was the moment!

She wanted to remove the flesh in her abdomen and frame Leia.

Selena gave a sinister smile, exerted force, and pinched Leia harshly.

Leia was organizing her thoughts, trying to persuade Selena.

The sudden pain in her arm made her gasp, instinctively shaking Selena off.

Taking the opportunity, Selena slammed into the bridge railing and, with a splash, fell into the water.

Water splashed everywhere, accompanied by Selena’s cries for help.

Leia stood stunned, looking at the water. Realizing what happened, she wanted to jump in to save her.

"Selena!"

A man’s voice sounded behind her.

She turned and saw Craig and Wright rushing towards her quickly.

Both ran while pulling off their shirts, then jumped into the water.

Leia stood in a daze, her thoughts somewhat scattered.

She understood; this was another act of Selena’s self-harm.

Last time, Craig carried the purposely fallen Selena away in front of her.

This time, he again jumped to save purposely water-bound Selena.

Then next time, if both she and Selena faced danger, would he save Selena first?

Suddenly, agreeing to his proposal felt absurd.

She should’ve known, in his heart, his true love was always Selena!

"Selena, wake up!"

Wright and Craig together rescued the unconscious Selena to shore.

Wright looked anxious, repeatedly pressing Selena’s chest, performing CPR.

Craig wiped away water from his face, breathing heavily as he watched from the side.

Selena coughed out some water, regaining consciousness.

"Selena, it’s okay, don’t be afraid."

Seeing Selena awake, Wright was instantly full of joy.

Selena looked faintly at him, then at Craig.

Her hand slowly reached for her abdomen, a face full of pain.

"It hurts, my stomach hurts so much."

Abdominal pain?

Wright hurriedly picked her up, shouting at the servant, "Why are you standing there? Prepare the car!"

The servant quickly responded and retreated.

Selena’s face turned pale with pain, her gaze falling on Leia’s face nearby, a smile tugging at her lips.

Leia, her child is about to be lost!

Watch how she marries Craig!
