--- Kat ---

Once everyone had signed the reception placed the paper gently down on the desk before kicking it hard twice. Kat raised an eyebrow, that got joined by a second one when two brass tags shot out of the desk and into her hands. The receptionist turned around and slapped them on the two ending letterboxes and waited for a moment before opening them and pulling out a bunch of keys. What was surprising, is that the numbers didn't seem to be next to each other, or have anything to do with the previous ones. Though perhaps the place thought it was being funny.

Kat was handed two keys that both read 666 on them while the other room was room -1, because apparently the hotel was perfectly capable of giving away negative room numbers. The receptionist finished handing out keys and said, "Alright. I'm officially your receptionist and guide for your stay here. My name is Posey and if you ring the phones and ask for me I'll show up if I'm on shift. It's important you follow me exactly to your rooms the first time. Once you've opened the doors, you should be safe to wander. Mostly anyway,"

Kat didn't really know what to say but Posey wasn't waiting. She headed for the giant door nearby, turned the handle and then instead of opening it as expected she watched as the plant next to the door shifted across before jumping down into the new hole in the floor. Kat's mouth dropped open even as Nixilei groaned. "Oh it's going to be one of these,"

Despite her complaints she was first down the whole, and the rest of the group quickly followed. Kat had been expecting a slide or something but as soon as her eyes dipped below the floor she was suddenly back standing in a hallway. Posey was a few steps ahead of everyone looking back at them and waiting as Eleanora dropped in last.

They were in the middle of a normal looking hall with corners at either end but through her link with Lily, Kat could tell that they actually sent you to completely different areas in the building. Before Kat could properly admire the décor Posey moved forward until she got to a cabinet that had been just sitting in the middle of the floor and walked through. There were coats in it and everything, and they scraped off the remainder of the cobwebs on Posey's head making it a bit annoying to squeeze through with everyone else.

When they stepped out of the closet they were instead at the poolside. It was a tiled indoor pool area with a giant glass ceiling and ugly walls that looked like they were painted with dirty water. It was not a great look but Posey was completely unconcerned, walking up to the door and opening it once everyone was a few steps away. This time the door actually did open except it deposited them out onto the top of a tower that showed off a massive amount of farmland. Kat had no idea where they even were.

"Right, this is a slightly dangerous part. You'll need to jump right here," Posey tapped the edge of the tower where the bricks had been painted over yellow. "It will take you to the next step of our journey,"

"Ok, but before that. Why is this all so crazy? Like… I thought the weird instructions in the waivers were so clear because people kept accidentally stumbling into things or intentionally doing weird shit just to find new problems… but it seems like they were just using the place as intended? Like… why is getting around so weird?" asked Kat.

"Ah, that is… perhaps the fault of some older receptionists. See the place likes to… challenge us somewhat. Once I've left you can use the doors and follow the signs without issue. Just by thinking about things you can usually get where you want, though as you, Kat, are a demon there may be some issues…

"Regardless, guests are simply treated differently then intruders and staff. However, despite the fact you all have your keys you are not yet considered guests until you check into your rooms so we need to go and do that. I will have some more info for you once you've checked in, but it really is best we do that before too many questions come up,"

Kat wanted to grumble a bit at that but decided it was better to just get going and soon they were all jumping off the edge and landing in a ball pit. This time they did actually fall for a few metres but the balls were soft and squishy acting more like a foam pit then anything else and everyone was distributed around the area except Posey herself who was dropped right at the edge and actually had to land on her feet.

Posey kept leading them through the various corridors and rooms at an increasing pace and fluctuating strangeness. They ended up in a room full of showers, another full of stars, several normal corridors and of course, the weirdest one, was a room made of pudding. Though it was mostly weird because even the floor was made of the stuff and they sunk in as they went through it. Luckily this was right before the shower rooms so it was easy for the stuff to get washed off.

Eventually though, they reached a single corridor that only had two doors on the side. One read 666 and the other read -1. "Oh good, it seems your rooms have been joined together so that saves me a good deal of effort," said Posey. "Please unlock your doors and head inside, any further questions can be answered afterwards.

Kat shrugged and stepped into the room. Unlocking it an pushing her way inside… only to sigh when she saw what it looked like. I don't know if I should've been surprised. But I was. Room 666 seemed to be made with black everywhere. The floor was a black marble, the walls were a black obsidian, the light sources were red torches… well that looked that way. The shadows cast by the room were all wrong for the torches to have been working as sources of light so they were clearly just aesthetic.

The kitchen was black with red patterning that made it look like there were read blood splatters here and there while the various knives and cutlery were bone white. The couch was made of black leather with red pillows and Kat could already guess that the other rooms would be more of the same. The one exception to this dark theming was the bright green door on the opposite side of the wall to where the neighbouring room should have been…

But Kat wasn't terribly surprised when she opened the door to look around behind it and found Gareth, Kress, Nixilei and Green inspecting their own room. It was somewhat jungle themed, but it a much more understated way. Just little bits of vine and flower detailing around the place along with a colour scheme that was largely green. Explained the door anyway, especially when checking the back revealed the door to Kat's room was of course, black with red gems embedded in the wood.

"Shall we go and ask our questions before Posey has to leave?" asked Kat. This question stopped the exploration for most people… Green just shrugged and lay down on the couch with a yawn.

"I'll be fine, I trust you guys to work it out," said Green with a negligent wave. Kat shrugged and headed out with Lily in her hands and the others following soon afterward. Kat didn't know what questions needed to be asked, but she was sure there was a few to cover.

When Posey saw them step out she began speaking "A few I need to cover before any questions. Firstly, if you look around your room you should be able to find a floating crystal of some kind. Pressing on it will send a notification to the front desk that you require assistance so someone, probably me, will be sent to you. Be warned though, some services require payment and excessive use of the device will incur charges.

"Next, food. The kitchen is broken and no we can't fix it. The problem has been around longer then most of you have been alive. To make up for this you have a few options. The first is to come to the front desk and add your order to the nightly order. We, the hotel staff, choose a restaurant and you will only be billed for the food itself. A secondary option is to request a staff member go out and purchase something for you but that requires an extra fee. Finally, you can simply bring in your own food. You are NOT under any circumstances to try and find the kitchen,"

Posey glanced around, waiting to make sure that everyone was clear on that point before nodding. "Alright, now, there are a few other minor things but before that do you all have any questions?"
