Cultivation Daddy-Chapter 138 - 137: Moving to South River City (2)
Although his brothers were making fun of the situation, Li Cheng wasn’t happy. Seeing how their house was broken to the ground, he knew they wouldn’t stay here tonight, and it wasn’t clear when the construction would start and finish repairment. This could take weeks or months.
Normally, he wouldn’t mind, but Zhao Yun was still waiting, and he wasn’t sure when their trial would be over. Li Cheng was anxious to return to his side. Even Li Cheng himself was surprised about his behavior. Normally, Zhao Yun isn’t the kind of person he would hang out with. He knew that Zhao Yun was hiding many secrets, but he doesn’t care, because he also has secrets of his own.
While he thoughts, they walked through the broken stones and reach Li Jain and the others.
"Greetings, Daddy."
"Good afternoon, Dad."
"Hello, Father."
They greeted Li Jain one after another.
"Good afternoon, sweeties." Li Jain looked at them and couldn’t hide his guilt.
"Daddy, did a wild boar ran over our house?" Li Juanxin asked cautiously.
Li Jain eyes lit up and began to talk nonsense with confident: "Not quite. It was two wild boars. They were suddenly let loose and caused a big commotion. Many houses were also damage by them, but our house took the most impact."
"Huh? So that’s how it is!" Li Juanxin clenched his fist: "Whose pets, were they?"
Li Jain shook his head: "They don’t have an owner, I suspect they were frightened by something and came running to the town."
"Oh, that’s bad."
Pff, Liu Xiong was trying hard to hold his laughter, he couldn’t believe the children were actually falling for this nonsense.
Li Cheng rolled his eyes at Li Jain. He knows full well that Li Jain is intentionally making things up. It’s true that their dad is lacking in some aspects, but why would he choose to learn from the unserious group?
The unserious group refers to Li Yuhan, Li Zheng, and Li Jingxuan.
Li Jingsheng sighs: "What exactly happened to our house?"
Li Jain looked down and thought for a moment and explained the series of events that led to the destruction of the house. The more the children listened, the more colorful their expressions became. They finally understood why their house was destroyed. But seeing that Li Jain is still very calm, their faces darkened.
Li Yujiang frowned: "Dad! Why would you do such a thing?!"
He knew that letting Li Zhen stay was a mistake. Even though Li Zhen and his dad used to be friends, it wasn’t true friendship. Li Zhen is a person that likes playing games. He’d been jealous that his dad was valued by his grandparents and was living a luxurious life, while he had to be treated like trash by his parents.
After they were kicked out of the Li main house, Li Zhen was the one who tempted their father into gambling, giving his family a financial crisis, which led to their downfall.
The fact that their father wanted to keep Li Zhen away from trouble was a good idea. However, he never expected his father to go to such length! Even if his father lost his memories, there should still be some impression!
Seeing Li Yujian reacting so strongly, Li Jain became uncomfortable: "I know I was wrong."
"So where is this uncle Zhen?" Li Zheng asked angrily.
Li Jain hesitated: "Well, he left."
"What?" Li Zhang’s face immediately changed: "That bastard, he only knows how to bring trouble."
"I knew from the beginning he wasn’t a good person!" Li Jingxuan said firmly.
Li Jingsheng: "Well, he has to compensate us, at least. We won’t let him leave without paying."
"He should be returning to South River City and that city isn’t far, let’s go there and teach that son of b*tch a lesson." Li Juanxin said.
"Xinxin, watch your words." Li Jain frowned.
His sons are too impulsive. He doesn’t want them to be speaking such a fualt language.
"Father, what’s our next step?" Li Cheng asked
"We’ll go to South River City to stay for a few days. I received a visit invitation from grandpa a few days ago. This is the right time to go." Li Jain said.
"But... Father, what about me?" Li Cheng frowned
Before Li Jain could respond, Li Zhang interjected: "What about you? Park up, we’re all going together."
Li Zheng knew his brother was thinking about that Zhao Yun person and for some reason, it irritates him. In reality, it wasn’t entirely because he hated Zhao Yun, rather he felt threatened by him. He doesn’t want his brother to pay attention to anyone outside their family. And being obsessed with that Zhao Yun is not a good thing. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
If he can, he’d just beat that guy to a pulp. But leaving now is a good thing. It will make it easier for Li Cheng to forget about him.
Li Cheng glanced at him but remained silent. He didn’t have time to argue with Li Zhang.
"Is it because of the secret realm?" Li Jain asked and Li Cheng nodded.
Li Jain continued: "The original plan is to stay in South River City for two weeks. But I’m not sure whether we’ll come back here to Qingyang town. Leaving you behind might not be a good idea."
"But you promise. You can’t go back on your words. Also, this incident was entirely your fault." Li Cheng said unwillingly.
Li Jain thought for a moment and compromised: "Ok then, you can enter the secret realm. I will find a way to take it to South River City once we get there. But just so you know, you’re going to be missing school."
Li Zhang thought that now that Li Cheng was threatened with school, there’s no way he was going to enter the secret realm. He was secretly relieved but unexpectedly, Li Cheng actually nodded.
"There’s not much going on in school anyway. And I’m only going to spend three days in the secret realm, so ok."
"What? Are you actually willing to ditch school for that guy? Have you lost your mind?" Li Zhang was furious and wanted to jump on Li Cheng but he was held back by Li Yuhan who reacted quickly.
Li Zhang told Yuhan to let go of him, he wanted to teach his dumb brother a lesson.
"I thought you were smart. I’m not going to let you be led astray by your reckless plans!" Li Zhang shouted.
It took a while to calm him down.
When everything was settled. Li Jain told them to pack up and get into the flying carriage.
"Enough!" Li Jain’s voice cut through the chaos: "We have more pressing matters. If you all continue this bickering, I won’t hesitate to leave you both behind."
"Fine. Let’s pack then," Li Zhang gave up and murmured.
He shouldn’t make a big deal about his brother going away, after all, they wouldn’t be together all the time. Making fuss like this was really childish.
Li Zhang: "But are we just leaving like this?"
"How else do you want to go?" Li Yuhan asked speechlessly
"I mean, we just came back, we haven’t even taken a bath yet."
Li Jingxuan was also speechless by him: "Fourth brother, the house is already broken. Do you want to take a bath in the open? We are no longer in the village, no bush to cover you here."
Li Zhang couldn’t say anything to defend himself so he pouted.
"Ok Ok, there’s a way for you to take a bath in the carriage."
"Hum... What about afternoon lunch? Are we not eating?" Li Jingxuan felt that no one was bringing up the important question so he asked himself.
"Are you sure we’re going to skip lunch?" Li Jingxuan pressed, clearly exasperated as he tried to lead the conversation into another direction.
"Can’t you just eat once we reach South River City?" Li Juanxin shot back impatiently.
"Do you know how long the road is?" Li Jingxuan retorted.
"There is also food in the carriage, so let’s go." Li Jain sighed.
"Give me a few minutes." Li Zhang said and ran out.
He stopped in front of a book store. An old man sitting in front of the store welcomed him happily.
"What brings little master Li here today?"
"I came for the new books." Li Zhang said panting heavily
"Those books haven’t arrived yet. You still need to wait for a week." The old man replied.
"That’s alright, but my family are going to South River City to stay for a few days. I want to make a pre order, so you can keep those books for me." Li Zhang said and took out a small bag of gold, handing it to the old man.
The old man wanted to say there are even more interesting books in South River City, but when he saw the money, he kept quiet.
"Don’t worry, Little Master Li. I will make sure to keep the best ones for you."
Li Zhang said a few more words with the old man and ran back home.
