Cultivation Daddy-Chapter 135 - 134: A Fierce Battle: (Li Jain’s Home is Destroyed)
The onlookers were shocked and taken aback. How did a powerhouse appear here?! It seems like both the Spiritual Tavern and the Li family are done for! For most of them, it was their first time seeing a Divine Realm Powerhouse!
"Divine Power Realm? Does that really exist?"
"Beats me, I thought that was legend! Who could possibly cultivate so high?"
"You guys are not insightful and have no ambition, that’s why you’ll be stuck in this small town with low cultivation!"
"Brother, stop insulting us and explain yourself."
"Our country has many Divine Realm powerhouses, it’s just that this town is small and backward. What would those powerful figures be doing wasting their time here? If you want to broaden your horizon, you should step outside the borders of these walls, where refinement and battles of worth happen every day!"
"WOW, you know so much! Where are you from brother?"
"I’m from the Capital. We even have a few Great Powers and one Holy Master. He is the ancestor of the land."
"Wow, from the Capital, no wonder you’re insightful!"
"Who knew our country had such legendary figures?"
"The Divine Power Realm is no joke! Their cultivations are unseen by the likes of you. If that old man up there really intends to fight, we should all run."
The crowd gasped collectively at the prospect. A chill running down their spines. This trouble is much bigger than they’d expected. They also felt bad for owner Li and his Tavern. Which dumb guy made such an enemy and ran there to hide? If they were owner Li, they would have thrown that person out long ago. It’s not worth the risk.
The air thickened with tension as everyone exchanged worried glances.
Li Jain clenched his fists, weighing the pros and cons. If he decides to engage into a fight with the old man, he might not necessarily lose, although it wouldn’t be easy to win as well. But the mean issue is the surroundings. After all, the old only used one palm to break through his protective barrier.
If they were to fight, his home wouldn’t be able to withstand such power. ’I can’t just let him destroy everything I’ve built. What would the children think when they return from school and see that their house has turned into runes?’ Li Jain thought.
"Is it too late to open the door and welcome you in, senior?" Li Jain smiled towards the old man.
"Are you going to hang the person over? Otherwise, it’s too late!" The old man narrowed his eyes, gaze piercing through Li Jain: "Innkeeper, you misunderstood. My patience is at its end, and your false pleasantries won’t shield you. Hand him over and I promise to be merciful. Refuse and you shall bear the burden of my displeasure."
’Who’s an innkeeper? This is my restaurant! I am the owner!’ Li Jain thought angrily but didn’t show it on his face.
"It’s not that I’m unwilling to hang the person over to you. I don’t know what crime he committed for you to seek his life. But we have protocol in this place. If you want him, you can wait for the person outside, once our business hour is over, you can do whatever you like. You must understand, my guests are my priority."
"So, you refuse to hang the person over. Don’t blame this old man for being rude!" The old man said and waved his hand; a strong spiritual energy came rushing towards Li Jain.
The energy blasted forward, but before Li Jain could react, a figure flashed before him, meeting the attack head on.
It was Liu Xiong who just came back from a mission. As soon as he arrives, he sees an old man in the Divine Power Realm attacking Li Jain, knowing Li Jain wasn’t a match for him, he steps forward without hesitation.
The clash of their auras sent a shockwave through the grove.
"Who dares?" The old man took a step back and looked at Liu Xiong in awareness.
"I should be asking; how dare a senior like you pick on a junior that isn’t at your level? Isn’t this bullying?" Liu Xiong asked back with a frown.
"And you are?"
"You don’t need to know who I am, but as long as I’m around even a Feudal Lord won’t dare to lay hands on him, not to mention a small Divine Power Realm elder." Liu Xiong sneered.
The old man scoffed: "Bold words! I hope you’ll still be able to speak so arrogantly when I’m done with you!"
"Then why are we wasting time?"
Li Liu hovered in the air, channeled his spiritual energy and engaged into a combat with the old man.
The two figures hovered in the air; their robes were snapping violently in the storm of their own making. Spiritual energy surged outward colliding again and again with deafening force. Each impact shook the trees around the grove, leaves spiraling into the air like confetti.
The ground beneath them trembled repeatedly.
Liu Xiong stood with one hand behind his back. His aura burned white threads of spiritual power weaving through the air like a living dragon. Opposite him, the old man’s golden threats of spiritual power were like a tempestuous lion.
With a sharp flick of his wrist, the old man struck, a palm that carries an oppressive pressure descended from the sky. The pressure along cracked the tiles of nearby roof tops before the attack even landed.
"Mountain Suppression Palm!" The onlookers gasped.
"He’s not holding back at all!"
"Even from this far, the power is impulsive. I wish I could take a closer look."
"What closer look, move back! Move back! if that lands, half of the street will be gone!"
Below, several cultivators gritted their teeth and stepped forward. Even though they aren’t familiar with one another, they joined forces and formed a translucent barrier dome over the street.
In major cities, streets and buildings would have their own protective formation in case of a fight like this. But Qingyang town is a small town that doesn’t have advanced cultivators.
BOOM!
A shockwave exploded outward. The barrier trembled violently, barely holding on. The cultivators were also covered in sweat.
"Hold it steady!"
"I can’t maintain it much longer!"
"Damn the pressure!"
"What’s the point of us doing this while the ground is still cracking?!"
"For merit, what else?"
Liu Xiong’s expression remains calm even though the old display such huge power.
Before the palm could touch him, his figure vanished. A streak of white light cut through the sky, and he reappeared behind the old man. He raised his hand and pointed forward, a thin beam of condensed spiritual energy shot out.
The moment it pierced through the air, the surrounding space distorted. The old man’s pupils shrank. He barely managed to avoid it by raising his defensive barrier in time.
CRACK!
The barrier cracked and the old man was forced back several meters. He held his chest and coughed out blood.
"Did he injure the Divine Power realm elder?!
"I think you saw it wrong! Otherwise, how could that be?"
"Maybe the other guy is in the Holy Master realm!"
"Are you stupid? Do you think those realms are easy to attain?"
Even though the crowd was talking endlessly, the old man thought some of their words made sense. If this guy wasn’t in the Holy Master realm, how is it that he could injure him so easily? But then again, what would such a powerful person be doing here? Why would they risk their reputation just to go against his Heaven House?
The old man steadied himself, breathing heavily. His gaze toward Liu Xiong darkened.
The two clash again, exchanging moves in the air.
Li Jain was busy protecting the guests and couldn’t do much about his house. The wooded beams cracked and tiles shattered. The walls were also falling on every side. Dust rains down with each fall.
Li Jain’s face pale with fury: "My Tavern! My Home! My little ones’ room!!!"
The old man was already losing the battle; he had already been injured badly. Even him had lost count of how many times he had spitted blood. Yet, he couldn’t just back down because of pride.
Another shockwave of energy surged as the two clashed again, tearing the street apart. The street pillars snapped one after another, falling on nearby houses.
Li Jain couldn’t stand the damage any longer and shouted: "STOP! BOTH OF YOU!"
The old man hesitated, but since Liu Xiong took a step back, there’s no reason for him to. After all, this saves him the embarrassment of losing the match. But he knew deep down that Liu Xiong’s power far exceeded his own. To the point that the other party was suppressing his actual strength to match him.
"Senior, why don’t you come in so we can talk about it? Once you step through that gate," Li Jain pretended not to see the broken grate and continued: "You will also be considered my guest."
"Very well, if you insist!" The old said in a high and mighty manner as he descended from the sky.
Li Jain breathes a sigh of relief. But when he saw the remains of his tavern, he had the urge to cry. Half of the day wasn’t even over, and he’s already homeless.
