Cultivating in the Wizard World-Chapter 170 - 159: Mentor and Assessment (Part 2)
Jeming fell silent at those words, understanding what Clark meant.
If he truly were as arrogant as Clark suspected, he might never survive to obtain a Large Elemental Pool.
Wizards appear majestic as they conquer countless planes, but each venture into a new plane carries immense risk.
Many profit from wars between planes, but the number of wizards who perish is not small either.
A wizard's greatest strength lies in wisdom, but similarly, arrogance is the most dangerous emotion.
The Endless Plane holds infinite possibilities, and too much arrogance will quickly bring about its own form of "retribution."
High Tier Wizards like Clark have completely transformed their thinking into that of an eternal being, making them extraordinarily prescient in some far-sighted wisdom.
They disdain deceiving apprentices, yet if a problem truly occurs, they don't mind profiting from it.
"However... it seems I have passed this test," Jeming thought silently to himself, contentedly drinking a beverage that seemed to contain wailing spirits within its liquid.
After finishing this meaningful feast, Jeming, with a heavy Space Expansion Bag, bid farewell to his mentor and returned to the Golden Garden through the Teleportation Array.
Night fell. Jeming sat in his laboratory, taking out the manuscripts one by one and immersing himself in a new round of research.
...
...
Ever since Professor Clark generously provided that research manuscript on the Divine Power Faith Network, Jeming's exchanges with his mentor had increased.
Their discussions evolved from initial queries and answers to profound academic exploration.
Professor Clark would occasionally present some thought-provoking questions or share insights from his past studies, while Jeming would provide feedback on his latest experimental data and thoughts.
This mentor-friend communication style made Jeming feel unprecedented fulfillment and progress on his path of knowledge.
Another year passed.
Jeming's life remained in a steady rhythm.
This year, his primary focus was on studying the manuscript gifted by Professor Clark.
The runes and theoretical data filled with the mysteries of a divine power faith network from another plane opened a new perspective for him.
He began trying to integrate this knowledge into his understanding of the Elorcia Plane's faith network, deconstructing, analyzing, and reconstructing those once obscure concepts piece by piece.
Day after day, Jeming, like an untiring seeker, explored the ocean of knowledge and power.
His spiritual power became increasingly pure, and his understanding of the laws deepened day by day.
Until one day, a sudden change arose.
Jeming was sitting in the center of the laboratory, meticulously analyzing a complex divine rune extracted from Clark's manuscript.
Suddenly, he felt a slight tremor from the depths of his Sea of Spirit.
This tremor was not the impact of external energy nor an instability in his spiritual power.
It came from within, from the core area of his Sea of Spirit—the Ring of Truth.
Initially, it was just a subtle ripple, like a ripple spreading across a calm lake, almost unnoticed by him.
But soon, the ripple began to spread, becoming more frequent and clearer.
Buzz...
A deep humming sound arose in Jeming's Sea of Spirit.
This sound wasn't transmitted through his ears but acted directly on the depths of his soul, bearing a peculiar rhythm, as if some grand existence was awakening.
He introspected into his Sea of Spirit, discovering his Ring of Truth radiating more intensely than usual.
Within the light, something seemed to be brewing, about to sprout.
With the hum, each witchcraft model constructed in Jeming's Sea of Spirit began to experience slight fluctuations.
They weren't collapsing but rather as if drawn by some invisible force, each rune trembling slightly, resonating.
It was as if they were cheering, rejoicing, as if preparing to welcome the advent of something new.
This was a feeling he had never experienced before, both unfamiliar and instinctively familiar.
Jeming immediately stopped the data analysis, halting all research.
This anomaly was too unique, and to be safe, he chose to be cautious.
The first person he thought to consult was naturally his mentor.
Jeming quickly activated the Teleportation Array, returning once more to Professor Clark's private plane.
Upon entering Professor Clark's laboratory, he found his mentor engaged in a complex alchemy experiment, surrounded by intense elemental fluctuations.
Jeming's arrival seemed to have not disturbed him. Clark merely raised his eyes, noticing the anomaly in Jeming's Sea of Spirit.
"Mentor, there seems to be some disturbance in the witchcraft models within my Sea of Spirit..." Jeming stated bluntly.
He described in detail the recent trembling of the Ring of Truth and the resonance of the witchcraft models.
Professor Clark stopped his actions at these words.
He turned, his profound gaze landing on Jeming, carrying a hint of understanding, and even a rare smile appeared on his face.
"Very good, it seems you have worked hard without any slack," Professor Clark said with a tone of gratification, "Jeming, the anomaly in your Sea of Spirit is a precursor to the birth of a new spell!"
Upon hearing this, Jeming's heart trembled.
A new spell!
"This... how is it possible?" Jeming found it hard to believe, "I haven't intentionally studied any advanced knowledge, nor constructed a new witchcraft model..."
Professor Clark gently brushed the hair on his forehead and explained, "Your situation is indeed quite rare among today's wizards, but it was quite common in the past."
"Ever since much of the knowledge became shared, most wizards, after constructing their basic witchcraft, consciously choose to learn advanced knowledge and follow existing systems, thus quickly constructing new spells on their own."
"They advance along the path pioneered by predecessors, which, while efficient, inevitably confines them to the predecessors' ideas."
"In your case, however, you have purely through your research and understanding, bit by bit increased your knowledge, achieving a realization of the world's essence at a certain threshold. This has consequently activated the Ring of Truth within your Sea of Spirit, allowing it to autonomously construct new core runes, finally reaching the standards to independently construct a new spell."
Professor Clark approached the large elemental sandbox in the laboratory's center, gently tapping it with a finger, and various complex rune images surfaced on the sand.
"These two ways of independently constructing witchcraft each have their merits and drawbacks," Professor Clark continued to explain, "The first, through learning and imitation, allows a wizard to acquire new spells more quickly, promptly enhancing combat power. They are like tools meticulously crafted by predecessors, ready for immediate use."
"In contrast, spells like yours are nurtured from the deepest understanding within oneself. Such spells are the most suitable for you."
"They perfectly align with your spiritual characteristics, your knowledge system, and even your unique perception of the laws. They are not someone else's tool but an extension of your soul, the crystallization of your wisdom." 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Although their power may not be significantly stronger than other spells, they are undoubtedly the most suitable for you."
Jeming felt relieved.
Although he knew from perception that the transformation in his Sea of Spirit shouldn't be a bad thing, confirming it brought him relief.
"Then... how should I proceed with the construction?" Jeming eagerly asked.
"The process is not complex, especially for someone with your knowledge reserves," Professor Clark detailed, "Once your knowledge level reaches a certain point, the Ring of Truth in your Sea of Spirit has automatically constructed the corresponding core runes for you."
