Crossdressing To Survive An Apocalypse-Chapter 324 324 - The Wait
Yue and Fan watched from above. The zombies in the base were taken out but the ones outside looked like they were still out there.
Waiting…
"What are they waiting for…." Yue whispered in fear.
Unlike what he had imagined this zombie hoard was not just a bumbling bunch of brainless zombies. They had a leader. A leader who was giving out orders. Right now that leader had made them station outside the base just a few meters away.
Waiting….
He felt his heart rate spike. "Fan… it's… we can defeat the zombie tide if we take out its leader." He hurriedly tugged at his sleeves. f𝑟e𝒆𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗oѵ𝐞𝗹.c૦𝑚
"Not now," Fan gritted his teeth. "We need to repair the walls. If we provoke them, they will break down my ice sheets easily. It's a vain fight. Metal ability users! I want all of the high profile mental ability users right here!" he jumped down and went to order people around.
Yue stood on the building peering out the wall. The red jacket zombie was looking at him. "why are you doing this…. what is your purpose…."
It was obvious. Zombies were food-driven.
But what he didn't understand was why the zombie decided to fall back. it was like they were waiting for something.
Like a beast that was crouching down the grass, they were waiting for t attack.
"Why…."
He glanced at the sky. The golden sunlight shone over his face. "It's the sun…. they are waiting for the sun to go down…. Shit…"
He climbed down hurriedly and walked over all the zombie corpses. "It's the sun! They are waiting for sun down! Get ever soldier rout here. We need to attack them now! Fan we can't wait!"
"We will wait,"' Fan gripped his hand.
"We can't afford to wait! In the dark, we are all bumbling fools!! We can barely see anything and we will be left vulnerable. That's what they want…"
"Zombies don't think ahead like that," free𝒘ℯ𝗯𝙣𝗼ν𝑒𝗹.𝒄o𝒎
"Don't underestimate them," Yue glared up at him. "Fan, you know better than to underestimate them. We have to attack with all we've got… we have to…"
Fan sighed. "I've done this once Yue…so I know… we just have to wait,"
Yue took a deep breath, calming himself down.
"Yue… come here," Tian pulled him aside. "Just calm down. I know it's scary but we can do this."'
"No…. Tian… we are making a big mistake."
Tian slightly pinched his pursed lips. "did you forget that we've got lights? We are not blind fools in the night anymore,"
Yes, they did have street lights that operated on solar sheets. But even that light can be harmful to them.
Zombies were sensitive at night. Their sense of smell and hearing and sight was heightened especially at night. They were like nocturnal animals they hunt well in the dark.
Humans though… we are not made that way…
We are not made to survive in the dark but the zombie had evolved to.
"We are making a huge mistake…"
"Yue, you are panicking. Look around, the soldiers are losing hope. Calm down,"
Yue shook his head. "I…" the soldiers did look vary and some of them looked like they were on the verge of tears. "I'm sorry…"
"Go home… take hood rest and come back here. You just need some rest."
"I've.. I've got it…" Yue glanced at Fan once again. Fan was too busy giving out orders. "Take care of him… don't let him die and don't die…. I need my husband and my sister."
"I'm here," Tian hugged him slightly. "Now get going,"
Yue walked away. It was the most painful thing to do, but he had to. He was causing panic amount the masses and having two leaders is not a good thing. Fan was stubborn about waiting. He wanted to believe him.
"I need to calm down. I need to plan ahead…" he walked back to his new safe spot. On the way, he noticed how much dead were lying on the ground. Zombies plus dead humans. Trashed the ground. Every step he took, he squished an unidentifiable organ.
"It will get better… I'll ask Zi Chen to check on the situation. Yes, I'll do that,"
He walked over to the farm. The gate was secured and the plants seemed to move abnormally.
A few bees flew over his head, hovering. It was most likely his son's ability being used here.
"hi Chen.."
The bees flew away.
"Maybe they were normal bees.." he slowly walked back into the farm house. Inside only a few of uncle Wen's people were in here.
"is the food loaded in? Juda? Jamie?" they both nodded
"Where's my soon?"
"Inside,"
Yue said a small thanks and walked into the study suddenly juda grabbed his arm.
"y-you might want to change before meeting him…"
Yue glanced down at his shirt. his whole body was smeared with blood and tissues. his shoes especially was soaked in blood.
"Fuck…" he massaged his forehead.
"Hey… is everything okay?" Juda gently patted his back and she also gave him a pack of clean tissue
"I.. I don't know if it is. We have stopped them for a while…. We are doing something…" he mumbled, wiping the blood off his face.
"Fan and Tian are there. They can easily win them over," Juda said hopefully.
Yue felt like scoffing. He did not know what came over him but all that negative feeling that he had piled up just burst out. "I don't know if we can survive…."
Juda paused. "We can and we will. Yue you can't give up now. not on your husband or your sister. Believe them. Even if we are walking into a ditch you have to believe them,"
"We can make a difference. I tried suggesting a method."
"Then why weren't you insistent…" Juda grabbed his shoulders "when you know something is right and others are wrong you have to fight them. Even if it's your husband, you have to fight for the right thing. Why did you come back just like that? You are not a quitter. Go make it right,"
Yue took a deep breath. "The problem is… I don't know if I'm right. I don't know if Fan's right. I'm not sure of anything now."
"Then take a deep breath and do what you think is right. I know Fan is good but you have more than one occasion saved our asses Yue. Trust that instinct. Right or wrong, you have to fight for that i0sntcinct now go. I'll take care of everything here." She patted his back again.
Yue stood up straight. "You're right. I have to fight for that…" he ran out of the house.
The sun was on the horizon and the sky was getting dark. They did not have much time….
