Cosmic Paragon-Chapter 107 - 106: Paragon!

BOOM!

A Violet energy wave exploded out; covering a 7 foot radius around Drake before receding. The entire audience turned deathly silent.

It was over!

Everyone had colorful expressions painted all over their faces at that moment. It was as if they had been riding an elevator when all of sudden, it went out of control and began free falling!

This was because, in the middle of the battlefield, Paragon had his Saber up against Julia’s neck!

Julia couldn’t stop her hands from shaking. There had never been anyone who could break the Blooming Blood Lotus like this before.

Never!

"Paragon wins!" The loud voice of the Umpire sounded.

Julia gritted her teeth and held back her tears. Ever since she had awakened her magic power, she had always liked to play, and never trained. When she turned twelve she finally started training to be a Blade dancer, but nobody in her family had thought she was suited for close combat and they had all told her to quit. But she wanted to fight like this.

So, she decided to train herself so that she could become the best Blade dancer there is. She had done her best to let everybody know this through her accomplishments.

Julia had finally gotten the recognition of her Dad on this, and he had asked Master Wes to help forge a weapon most suited to her, yet now she had failed in front of everyone. She couldn’t help but doubt herself, could it be that she had been wrong?

The unbeatable Blooming Blood Lotus had been broken so easily...

Drake cracked a smile and withdrew his Saber. "You chose the wrong weapon, the short swords don’t suit you. Try out dual Daggers next time, also you’re a bit too stiff. When you attack, relax a little maybe the outcome will be different next time."

"My ’Shadow Transposition’, How did you know where I would appear?" Julia stuttered.

"Oh you mean that trick? Shadow Transposition is a skill that allows you to transport yourself to your shadow. I saw through it after you used it the first time so all I had to do was watch where your shadow was at all times in case you used it." Drake said blandly then turned and walked away. A white light wrapped around him and he was teleported out.

Julia quickly called out as the masked opponent was about to vanish. "Who are you?"

The masked man vanished, but his voice rang out.

"Paragon!"

Without anybody noticing it, the number of spectators had already grown to over 1000 people at some time. Everyone was speechless as they replayed the match in slow motion.

The Blooming Blood Lotus was a High level burst technique of the Shadow family and, Julia’s execution of the technique had been marvelous and exceptionally quick.

The only problem was that Julia’s Short swords had been a bit too long for her, which had caused a small flaw, Yet, Paragon had been able to grasp that only flaw. As a matter of fact, it was so small that it shouldn’t even be called a flaw; it was so tiny, that it would be impossible to discern by an ordinary opponent who was in the heat of battle. But Paragon had been able to detect and exploit it completely.

At the moment when the Blood lotus bloomed the sword lights descended. In that same moment, when it was at its most beautiful, a flaw had appeared as well. Drake had at that moment, moved at an impossible speed chopping several times with his saber at Julia; disrupting her technique causing it to collapse. In fact, the formidable power of the Blooming Blood Lotus hadn’t even been able to display itself.

The spectators were all silent as they watched the replay in disbelief. As they watched the slow motion replay, they began to realize that it hadn’t been simple at all, but damn! How could this be possible?

At that moment when that Violet energy had exploded out, a thin domain formed from magic power surrounded the two of them. This Violet domain had somehow frozen Julia in place. While Paragon’s Energy armor that had covered his body, resisted the assault of the blazing flames.

As this was happening, Paragon also attacked with his Slender Saber, at least a hundred times; completely breaking down the thirty-six sword lights. This was what had vanquished the Shadow family’s powerful skill executed by the Blade Dancer.

This shocking feat accomplished by Paragon, had left everybody completely and utterly gobsmacked.

More unbelievable to people was his judgment, coordination and terrifying speed.

That aside, he still had time to make his observations and give Julia pointers on the flaws that resulted in her loss. In the entire Empire, who would dare to instruct a Blade Dancer from the Shadow family like that?

A few minutes later, all of the spectators exploded into heated discussion. Who the hell was this guy!?

The Arena’s forums exploded into discussions about Julia and Paragon.

Drake reappeared in the Training room he had teleported from. His Skylink flashed and a catalog appeared indicating that he now had one victory and zero losses in the arena.

Drake smiled at the sight. Then checked on his current stats with the ’Eyes of Order’.

"What’s that? You have more inventory for me? Why of course, I’ll gladly take them off your hands. I’ll just keep them in the Armory. You know what I always say; ’The more the merrier.’" Drake thought happily to himself.

The sight of the new additions to his list of magic powers that he controlled, made Drake very happy. He was very satisfied with this harvest.

After Training with the twins and the Wolff Brothers for such a long time. Not to mention the Survival Training sessions and the food from Magic Beast meat cooked by the girls, Drake’s Battle power had risen so high already.

The sight of progress in his cultivation made Drake feel very much satisfied in his heart.

"It’s not over yet." Drake muttered then gave a mental order.

’Healing Power!’

Magic power immediately rushed out of the Virgo constellation and ran through his body. All the injuries he had sustained from the fight with Julia quickly healed up.

As he was recovering, Drake couldn’t help but think back to the fight.

Drake had to admit that Julia really was powerful. If it were another 2 star mage that was up against her, they would have died in an instant. In fact, even other 3 star mages would be quickly defeated by her, if they didn’t have an overwhelming advantage in the distance between their Battle Powers.

After making a complete recovery, Drake immediately activated the challenge.

The next opponent was soon selected.

A white light wrapped around Drake and he was teleported into the battlefield.

The catalog to select his weapon and the map he would like. Drake selected random just like last time.

Weapon: Random!

Map: Random!

Actually Drake wasn’t selecting random weapon just for fun sake, but because he had already mastered every weapon on the list, a long time ago when he was training with Queen.

Now that he was in this Tournament, Drake thought to make things a bit more interesting. He wanted to challenge himself. So he decided that no matter who it was that he would be going up against, he would always choose random weapon and random map. Not caring whether it favored his opponent or put himself at a disadvantage.

Drake’s opponent was a guy called Ryan Ross.

The Map location was the plains.

The moment Drake got on the battleground, a Silver Long Spear appeared floating in front of him. This would be his weapon.

Drake did not hesitate to mobilize his magic power.

The Stars swirled in Drake’s eyes and his opponents information was displayed.

Ryan did not say a word and directly raised his weapon which was a bow and knocked three arrows and fired all three arrows at Drake. The three arrows almost flew to Drake at the same time.

While the first two spun like drills; with one going clockwise and the other counter clockwise, the third arrow that came up right behind them made a piercing sound as if it could tear air apart when it was in the air. It quickly overtook them.

Drake’s face was sullen as he looked at that third arrow. He could tell that if he dared to let himself get hit by that one in particular, it would be bad.

The third arrow reached Drake first.

"Sure enough, there is no one weak here." Drake swiftly dodged the strongest third arrow and spun his Spear to ward off the other two arrows.

When the Spear collided with the arrows, Drake felt a backlash that made his arm numb. The spear almost fell from his hand.
