Chapter 376: Not Getting Time to Play Together
The production crew had actually never seen a wedding like this. It was a family and friend vacation. These people had cleared a whole weekend and taken the Friday off to be at the wedding. And this was a celebration of love and the lives of the people who would tie the knot.
They were pleasantly surprised. Even the fact that they were treated as part of the invited guests.
And when the sun slowly dipped in the sky, everyone came out of the water. Only the groom and bride floated in the water, whispering lovingly with one another.
"Come on! You two!" Someone shouted. "Enough is enough! We also have romance in your life, okay?" they teased.
Mo Qingchen was the one that led the two of them to the wooden dock. He raised himself onto it and grabbed the fluffy towel before anyone else could. He flung it over his shoulder and crouched down to raised Qian Meng effortlessly up, as well. He quickly wrapped her in the towel and hugged her tightly as he rushed her to land. 𝐟𝙧ℯ𝑒𝒘𝐞𝒃𝗻𝒐ѵ𝘦𝑙.com
There were chuckles and conversations. The group dispersed, leaving the crew with a lot to think about. Shooting weddings was about angles and poses. But this one… they didn't really need to worry too much. They just kept the cameras rolling. They swapped out batteries and kept filming. The people were photogenic, not because they all looked good but because they were perfectly happy and casual. There was no hint of pretense in this group.
Some of these people were elites who rarely spoke or gave a smile to people outside, but in their own world, they were free and filled with laughter.
They had just gone to charge the cameras and rest when they saw the smoke rising in the distance.
No way… a bonfire?
One of the crew members had come check on the group and found everyone sitting around a fire.
Mo Qingchen, having newly found his talent for making warm and cold soft drinks was busy mixing what he had. Li Li Hua scurried out of the main cabin with two thermoses in her hand.
"Here is the hot cocoa to go with the marshmallows!" she announced as she placed it on the small table a little away from where the fire was blazing. Everyone acknowledged her.
"Is Qingchen making something inside?" Qian Meng asked curiously.
"He seems engrossed in making iced tea for everyone. I think he is going to clean out the fruits the owners left in the fridge for the weekend," she snickered.
Qian Meng snorted. Mo Qingchen never did anything half-assed. Now that he had perfected how to make drinks, he wouldn't hold back on showing off in front of others.
"I'll go check on him," Qian Meng announced.
"Do you miss him already?" Hou Su teased from the side.
Qian Meng mock glared. "You better take note of what you are saying. I am known as the petty queen in the industry for a reason," she threatened before walking away.
Hou Su catcalled from behind her, making her raise her middle finger and waving it in response. The chuckles followed and faded away until she was back inside the cabin.
Mo Qingchen worked with his back to her in the kitchen.
"My bulk king, are you done yet?" she asked.
He raised his head but didn't turn back to look at her. "Almost done. Can you grab the trays of ice from the fridge? I need to add them to the jug," he told her.
She hummed and scurried to the fridge to take them out. "There are three trays. How many do you want?" she asked.
"Take them all out. Knowing the people outside, they will drink and eat everything you put in front of them." The tone with which Qian Meng said this was so bitter that she was sure he was speaking about his friends and no one else.
"Got it!" she said cheerfully and pulled the trays out.
She leaned against his arms and wrapped her hand around his waist as he finished up. "My goddess, will the tray be too heavy for you?" he asked slowly.
She shook her head with the little space that she had. "Not a problem. Come out. What else is there?" she inquired.
He thought about it for a minute. "Mom bought lots of chips. She also made sandwiches for everyone. It's there." He pointed. "Leave those. I will bring them out."
Qian Meng hummed. "Why does it feel like we have a soccer team for a family and we are raising them into pigs?" she asked playfully.
Qingchen paused for a second. "Do you want a soccer team of a family or do you want to raise pigs? Choose one or the other, we can't be mixing species here," he responded.
She snickered. "I'm headed out. They are just about to start with ghost stories and whatnot. I want to hear those scientific-minded people degenerate into cave people scared of the dark."
Qingchen snorted. "Go."
She never backed down from a bout of fun. He turned for the small amount of time she needed to go out of the room and out of his sight before he turned and looked around the kitchen. The food and the seasoned meat aside, everything was done. He also needed to take the barbeque grill out and set it up outside.
Li Li Hua peered in as he picked up the sandwiches. "Qian Meng went out?" she asked slyly. f𝒓𝗲𝗲𝒘𝑒𝚋noѵ𝒆𝗹.co𝗺
"She did. Were you waiting for her to leave?" Mo Qingchen asked.
"Yes. The two of you decided on such a small party. It's more of a family trip. I feel bad that the two of you aren't getting to spend time together even though it's your wedding."
Mo Qingchen waved it off. "This is how we wanted it to be. Isn't it a custom for the bride and groom to not spend time alone before the wedding? They aren't even allowed to see each other. It is better this way, I think." His voice was reassuring.
Li Li Hua looked at him with wonder. "Did you really want this wedding?" he asked.
