Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!-Chapter 349 - 348: Is the Script That Interesting?
After a busy morning on the film set, lunchtime finally brought some leisure, although it was the first day of shooting, everyone got to witness Ian Lee’s formidable presence.
Some people really got scolded all morning, almost questioning their life choices.
After a short break at noon, it was back to filming, a relentless hustle and bustle.
Over time, Mia Sutton got used to life on set, spinning like a top every day, focused solely on acting. Busy as she was, she found herself quite lost in the fun.
The only person possibly unhappy with this was Jensen Sterling.
Mia’s enthusiasm for work was sky-high, while Jensen’s status seemed to be descending rapidly.
After filming night scenes for a few days recently, the wrap time for today was a bit earlier.
At home, on the sofa.
Mia had a comfortable shower, wearing her pajamas, lounging leisurely on the sofa, holding her script in hand, chewing on it.
Also known as: memorizing lines.
When Jensen entered the study, he saw the girl looking at the script.
When he came out, he still saw her looking at the script.
When he came out again, he saw her playing on her phone.
When he came out yet again, she was back to holding the script.
Jensen: "..."
Despite Jensen passing in front of Mia four or five times, he couldn’t catch even one glance from her.
Jensen involuntarily gritted his teeth, took a slow step forward, and then stood firmly in front of Mia.
...
Mia, who had been browsing her phone, had just picked up the script, ready to memorize lines again, when she noticed a pair of slippers in front of her.
The slippers were the ones she bought.
Mia: "...???"
Her gaze moved from the script to the slippers, and then slowly lifted her head to meet someone’s face.
Jensen stood tall, Mia had to look up with some difficulty, her eyes glimmering with slight confusion. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"What’s up, Mr. Sterling?"
The man’s expression was calm, he slowly spoke under Mia’s gaze: "Is the script interesting?"
Mia looked up, hearing his question, she instinctively responded with an "ah" in a dazed expression.
"It’s alright."
Jensen: "Then why are you looking at it for so long?"
Mia: "Not at all, the lines for tomorrow’s scenes are quite a lot, so I memorized them for a bit, not for long. I was playing on my phone earlier too."
Watching Jensen, noticing he hadn’t said anything for a while, and her neck was a little sore from looking up, Mia decided she didn’t want to look up anymore.
Reaching out with two slender fingers, she gently pinched Jensen’s sleeve, tugging it twice: "Mr. Sterling, you’re too tall."
With her hand holding onto his sleeve, she moved aside, making room for him, and asked in a negotiating tone: "Would you like to sit?"
Jensen paused, quietly locking eyes with the young girl for two seconds, before taking a seat next to her.
Mia was just engrossed in the script without realizing, but once she stopped, she suddenly felt a bit hungry.
She reached for her phone, and unsurprisingly, it was already past seven.
Mia, feeling a bit lazy and not wanting to cook, thought of ordering takeout, and thus opened the delivery app on her phone.
Talking as she browsed: "Mr. Sterling, are you hungry too and that’s why you came out?"
He must be hungry, given the time.
Mia imagined Jensen being hungry, but seeing her reading the script, not wanting to disturb her, enduring his hunger in silence.
"Mr. Sterling, what do you want to eat? I’ll order, my treat."
Mia talked as her fingers rapidly swiped on the screen, spotting skewers and craving them for a couple of seconds, but reluctantly gave them up.
It’s evening, eating meat would lead to weight gain.
Jensen looked down at her, his gaze somewhat deep, his voice steady: "Can I have whatever I want?"
Mia: "Of course, I’m rich now, no matter how expensive, I can buy it."
Especially for Mr. Sterling, she couldn’t bear letting him eat something cheap, so she spoke boldly.
Jensen: "What do we do after eating?"
Mia almost didn’t react to his sudden change of topic, she looked up to glance at him: "Read the script?"
Even though she nearly memorized the scenes for tomorrow, she still felt a bit uneasy.
Practicing two more times would give peace of mind.
Jensen nodded slowly upon hearing this.
"Then should I order?"
Returning to the topic of ordering, Mia casually placed her phone in front of Jensen.
"There you go, what would you like?"
Jensen looked at Mia, slowly saying: "I don’t want any of this."
Mia, upon hearing this, promptly switched to another place, with countless takeout options, if one wasn’t suitable, they’d just change.
"How about this place? Looks pretty good, and the reviews seem decent."
She continued talking while browsing the reviews, ready to place an order.
Jensen scanned the phone briefly and then turned his gaze back to her: "I think there’s one item that’s quite nice."
Mia: "What is it?"
She flicked through the options with an air of opulence, the type that says, whatever you say you want to eat, I can buy it all for you.
"You."
Mia was still choosing dishes and didn’t immediately grasp the meaning.
It took a few seconds before Mia, with a stunned expression, looked up at the man next to her.
What did Mr. Sterling say?
Her???
She mentally replayed their conversation thoroughly.
The entire dialogue seemed to be like this:
Her: What do you want to eat?
Mr. Sterling: I don’t want any of this.
Seconds later, Mr. Sterling: I think there’s one thing that’s quite nice.
Her: What is it?
Mr. Sterling: You.
You, you, you!!!!
It might, perhaps, maybe, possibly not mean what she thought... right?
Mia’s pretty eyes blinked unconsciously, her mouth slightly agape: "...Mr. Sterling, what did you just say?"
Jensen asked back: "You didn’t hear?"
Mia: "..." Can she pretend she didn’t hear?
Evidence shows she cannot, our ignored-for-so-many-days Mr. Sterling would not allow it.
He directly picked her up and carried her to the bedroom.
Mia was shocked!
"No, Mr. Sterling, let’s talk it out, I’m ordering food, let’s eat first and talk about other things, aren’t you hungry."
Jensen carried her steadily, and hearing her words, gave a faint response: "Mm, a bit hungry, so I’m going to satisfy that now."
Mia: No, she meant, hungry as in the belly.
The room door had closed, Mia was still trying to struggle: "Mr. Sterling, Mr. Sterling, no, wait...."
"Brother Jensen, Jensen dear, let’s indeed order takeout."
Jensen: "No appetite, not interested."
Mia: "We have an agreement, and I have to film tomorrow, I need to read the script later."
Mia clutched the blanket around herself tightly, leaving only a pair of black, twinkling eyes, her eyeballs rolling.
"Is the script that interesting?"
