Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!-Chapter 222: Bury Me
Even though Mia Sutton is a true fan of good looks, she’s really just admiring faces—she never actually thought about getting frisky with anyone.
Really, she’s not some kind of pervert... although sometimes she does enjoy touching abs a bit more than usual, but that’s normal, right? So she’s really not perverted.
Moreover, living in the master bedroom all the time with someone’s face and figure constantly in front of her—especially one she really likes—is truly a test of patience.
Jensen Sterling, who was about to take a shower, paused for a second upon hearing Mia’s words, then turned around and said, "Not sure. Mom seems to have something going on these days, and she’ll be back in a couple of days."
"Let’s hold off on moving out of the bedroom for now. There’s a lot of stuff, and moving back and forth would be troublesome. We’ll move when Mom’s no longer staying here; no rush."
Mia Sutton: "...Oh, okay then."
Since someone doesn’t mind, she doesn’t mind as much either.
After Jensen finished speaking, he carried his clothes into the bathroom, while Mia picked up her phone, put on her headphones, and started listening to her songs.
...
When Jensen came out again, he saw the young lady kneeling on one side of the bed, placing her hugging pillow in the middle of the bed. Jensen caught a hint of amusement in his eyes, then walked over to the bed.
When Mia saw him, she glanced at him, and then with peripheral vision, looked at the pillow she had just placed, suddenly feeling that what she did was redundant.
Thinking about the hugging pillow that gets thrown aside every morning, she felt her face heat up. She coughed slightly and then said, "Mr. Jensen, I’ve got it set."
Seeing this, Jensen didn’t reveal her actions, merely responding with a nod.
Mia then moved to her side of the bed, making room for Jensen, and raised her beautiful eyes to look at him, as if inviting someone to sleep.
Then, a light chuckle reached her ears, and Jensen’s voice, laced with amusement, said, "I still have something to deal with tonight, you go ahead and sleep first."
After saying that, he walked out of the room. As the door was about to close slightly, a dazed Mia suddenly realized and then instantly buried herself under the covers, thrashing around a bit: "Ahhhh, so embarrassing!" Her earlier behavior looked just like an invitation to sleep together, and she really wished there was a hole she could crawl into.
Outside the door, Jensen heard the sounds from inside, paused his steps, then curved his lips upward into a subtle smile as he headed to the study.
He really did have issues to deal with. Recently, there’d been some issues within the company, and there were always some people trying to make trouble, but he didn’t mind handling them at all.
In the following days, when Mia went home, sometimes she’d see Giselle Summers, and sometimes she wouldn’t. It seemed like if she moved back, there was a real risk of being caught, so she temporarily set aside the idea of moving back to the guest room.
As the party approached, they also began increasing their practice time, striving for perfection.
Over this period, the people in the group discovered that Mia was quite easy to get along with. As long as you didn’t deliberately provoke her, she would get along well with everyone. This made her relationships a bit closer, and people would sometimes ask her for help with things they didn’t understand.
Finally, on the day of the party, as Mia was leaving, she said to Jensen Sterling, "Mr. Jensen, I have an event tonight, so I might be back late."
Then she heard the man sitting on the sofa respond with a hum: "I also have an event tonight, and I’ll be back late too."
