Chapter 155: The Sick Teacher Xi

After Mia Sutton hung up the phone, she called Jensen Sterling again, but still no one answered.

After finishing her dance practice in the afternoon, Mia thought for a while and eventually decided to take her things and go home.

By the time she arrived home, it was already past six in the afternoon. Mia opened the door and peeked inside while changing into slippers, tentatively calling out, "Mr. Sterling, are you home?"

The house was quiet, and no one responded. Mia glanced down at the shoes placed by the shoe cabinet.

Not back yet?

The shoes are still here though.

After changing her shoes, Mia walked to the door of Jensen Sterling’s room and gently knocked: "Mr. Sterling?"

Still, no one answered.

After hesitating for a few seconds, Mia turned the doorknob and opened the door. The room was a bit dim, with the curtains drawn.

The room’s décor was simple, mostly in solid colors, clearly Jensen Sterling’s style.

In the bedroom was a large bed, with a big bulge in the covers where a man lay quietly, eyes closed. His lips, usually healthy-looking, were now pale, his brows slightly furrowed, possibly due to discomfort.

Mia tiptoed over and drew the curtains halfway open, letting light stream in.

The person on the bed, possibly stimulated by the light, slightly twitched his eyelids and slowly opened his eyes.

Turning his head towards the source of light, he hesitated for a few seconds: "Mia?"

His voice was low, even somewhat feeble, with a tone of confusion, maybe even a tinge of bewilderment.

Upon hearing his voice, Mia turned around quickly, took a few steps to the bed, leaned over, and asked anxiously, "Mr. Sterling, what’s bothering you?"

The person on the bed murmured softly that he was fine, his voice seemed to float.

"Mr. Sterling, get up, I’ll take you to the hospital."

As she spoke, Mia prepared to help him up.

Jensen Sterling waved his hand, his voice tinged with a hint of frailty: "No need, I’ve been there already, it’s just a bit of a stomachache, I’ve already taken medicine."

"A bit of rest will do."

Mia glanced aside and indeed found medicine on the table, picking them up and examining them one by one.

When she turned back to talk to Jensen Sterling again, she found that he had already closed his eyes again, looking as if he had fallen asleep.

Mia: "..."

She stood there, staring at the person on the bed for a few moments.

It seems it’s not just a stomachache; although his lips are pale, his face is flushed. Is he also having a fever?

Mia thought for a moment, then gently placed her hand on his forehead to feel the temperature.

Indeed, it was very hot.

She then turned and left the room, went to the bathroom to get a towel, wet it with water, and placed it on Jensen Sterling’s forehead when she returned, straightening the corner of the blanket.

After glancing at the towel for a couple of seconds, she turned and left again, retrieving a basin full of water to place in the room.

Every few minutes, when the towel got warm, she would wet it again and put it back.

She repeated this many times.

After completing all this, Mia looked down for a couple of seconds. Was that all there was to it?

She wasn’t very skilled at caring for others, having never tried before. All she knew came from her mother, and she wasn’t sure if it was right or not.

She lingered for a while longer and saw that the person lying on the bed seemed to have relaxed a little. Only then did Mia breathe a sigh of relief.

Then she stood up, and perhaps because she’d been sitting too long and bent over too long, she felt a twinge of aching numbness in her waist as she straightened up.
