Chapter 876: Chapter 875: Recovery (Part 9)

Ling Chuxia’s urging tone was just like when she was a student. She always had a craving for snacks, and the delicate and light meals at home never satisfied her taste buds, so she often had to sneak out to eat various snacks.

The key point is that it wasn’t enough for her to sneak out alone; she always had to drag him along because she thought sneaking snacks alone was boring, but with two, it became more thrilling and interesting.

Back then, right after school, countless students would rush into these snack shops to eat, and if you came a bit late, the food would be gone. So every time there were five minutes left before class ended, Ling Chuxia would already be gearing up, demanding that he do the same. When the bell rang, she’d grab his hand and they’d dash out, with her constantly urging, "Hurry up, hurry up, or it’ll all be sold out."

The memories were so beautiful that Shi Che found himself slightly lost in them, momentarily in a daze.

Ling Chuxia had already knitted her pretty brows, glaring with her big eyes, "Shi Che, what are you daydreaming about, hurry up and drive!"

Looking at Ling Chuxia’s brows and eyes, back then there was an unruly charm between her brows. Now, there was a hint of spoiled happiness. He couldn’t help but smile, leaning over to kiss her lips, saying, "Okay, let’s go now."

It was just after school, and students were everywhere. Shi Che couldn’t drive too far in, so he parked by the roadside.

Locking the car, Shi Che wrapped his arm around Ling Chuxia and headed towards the school back gate. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

The weather had turned cold, and all the students wore winter clothes. They unconsciously huddled together as they walked, in groups of three or five, giggling and laughing. Someone, pretending to be playful due to cold hands, suddenly slipped a hand down someone else’s neck, making that person shiver and then scream, chasing the other for revenge. Watching this, Ling Chuxia suddenly recalled her school days with Shi Che.

She was notoriously afraid of the cold; her hands and feet were always icy in the winter. Shi Che seemed cold and aloof, but his body was exceptionally warm, so he naturally became her mobile heater come winter.

She would always suddenly slip her hand down his neck, using her icy hands to chill him. At first, he’d get annoyed by the cold, but she’d always confidently say, "Shi Che, I’m your future wife, you need to keep me warm so I won’t freeze, or else you’ll be without a wife in the future."

Thinking of this, Ling Chuxia couldn’t help but chuckle.

Shi Che tilted his head slightly, looking down at the woman in his arms, puzzled, "What are you laughing at?"

Ling Chuxia pointed her nose at a nearby group still chasing each other, laughing, "Doesn’t it remind you of us back then? Turns out I used to be quite shameless."

Shi Che followed her gaze, and images of those days seemed to surface in his mind, his lips curving up as he nodded in agreement, "Indeed, quite shameless."

Though Ling Chuxia said it herself, it didn’t mean others could say it too. She glared at Shi Che, but soon she laughed again, "If I was so shameless back then, why did you like me?"

Shi Che was rarely at a loss for words, and he couldn’t answer immediately. A slight blush inadvertently crept across his face.

Ling Chuxia’s smile grew more triumphant, her bright black eyes fixed on Shi Che, "Well, say something?"

Shi Che automatically cleared his throat, looking up to see they had reached the beef noodle shop. He pretended not to hear Ling Chuxia’s words, guiding her inside.
