Ling Chuxia lay quietly on the hospital bed, her hands subconsciously caressing her flat abdomen. There was no sensation there yet, but within, life was already being nurtured.

Everyone jolted violently, especially the nurse holding the needle. Her hands shook, dropping the anesthetic needle to the ground, the sound of glass shattering piercing through the silence of the room.

The next second, a figure full of intense anger rushed to her bedside, gripping her arms and hauling her up.

The man’s dark eyes burned with fierce flames, a glance seemed enough to reduce anything to ashes.

He stared at her with a deathly gaze, gritting his teeth as he said, "Ling Chuxia, do you dare to abort my child?"

Shi Che’s sudden appearance was shocking to Ling Chuxia, causing a brief moment of panic in her eyes. Yet as she heard his roaring words, an overwhelming sadness surged in her heart.

Her voice was low and filled with despair, "Shi Che, this may not be your child."

From the moment she learned about the child until now, she hadn’t thought about crying. But now, saying this to Shi Che, tears involuntarily rolled down from the corners of her eyes.
