Contract Marriage: Billionaire and His Deaf Wife-Chapter 1206: Someone Is Getting Married (8)
For now, the police listened to what Rogers said, but couldn’t discern any clues. It all depended on Gu Nuan to unravel the mystery.
Gu Nuan’s eyes flickered subtly, but of course, she remained calm and composed.
Analyzing Rogers’ words, there were only two key points.
One was "Satan."
The other was, "You and I are the same kind of people."
If we analyze from the latter, it’s obvious that Rogers’ loan shark client was Black Hat.
What did Black Hat do with Rogers’ money? They were executing a plan called "Satan."
This indeed was a bit unexpected for Gu Nuan. The unexpected part was that Black Hat already had a relationship, a partnership with Rogers. However, previously when Rogers went to prison, it was evident it wasn’t due to Gu Nuan’s report; it was Black Hat’s doing. Originally, it was thought that there was some grudge between Black Hat and Rogers that led Black Hat to take action against Rogers. But now, listening to Rogers, it was apparent that this wasn’t the reason. Their conflict was merely an internal power struggle.
Secondly, Black Hat apparently didn’t have much money themselves and actually needed to rely on Rogers to swindle others for funds.
Either Black Hat’s vault had too little money, which seemed unlikely, or the Satan plan Black Hat wanted to execute was beyond anyone’s imagination and needed vast sums of money.
What exactly was this Satan plan?
First, she took her younger son to the hospital. Little Mingli clung to his mother, not letting her leave. Gu Nuan, having no choice, stayed to accompany her son.
Mingli pulled her into Lingxin’s ward.
In the afternoon, Tang Sili came with Ou Yanan to check on Lingxin. Seeing that Lingxin’s fever had subsided a bit, it indicated some improvement in the pneumonia.
Ou Yanan personally drew blood from the child again for some additional tests.
When Gu Nuan and her younger son walked in and saw that he was busy, they were about to turn around when they heard Lingxin call out, "Mom, come in."
Tang Sili gave a nod.
Gu Nuan and Mingli went inside.
Mingli ran ahead, not to watch his brother getting his blood drawn but to look up at Ou Yanan’s face.
Ou Yanan felt a bit flustered under that focused gaze. Remembering what Lingxin had said, he now believed it. This second little monkey was truly mischievous, not just anyone could handle him.
Gu Nuan cleared her throat: "Mingli—"
"Mom, I’m not bothering my brother. I’m just looking at this handsome uncle." The President of the Appearance Association, Mingli, began circling around Ou Yanan, "Uncle is so handsome. What’s uncle’s name? Where does uncle live? Can I have uncle’s phone number?"
Ou Yanan had never seen such a child before, almost left dumbfounded.
"Mingli!" Gu Nuan sternly called out.
Hearing his mom about to get angry, Little Mingli wisely knew when to stop, hopped onto his brother’s bed, touched his brother’s hand that’s on the IV, and gently blew on it: "Mingli loves brother, brother doesn’t hurt."
Lingxin reached out another hand to pinch his brother’s ear.
Mingli jumped off the bed, acting a bit timid, and grabbed onto Ou Yanan’s white coat: "Uncle, uncle, hold me."
This second little mischievous monkey, it seemed no one could resist him.
Ou Yanan looked over, seeing Gu Nuan standing there without saying whether her son’s request was okay or not. Tang Sili had already moved aside, pretending not to see anything. This was the family matter of the boss’s household, and he absolutely couldn’t interfere.
So, putting down the things in his hands first, Ou Yanan picked up Mingli. Once he held him, he realized how heavy he was. Compared to when he held this child right after he was born, he didn’t know how many times heavier he had become.
