Contract Marriage: Billionaire and His Deaf Wife-Chapter 1198: Lingxin and Mingli (9)
"Mm." Ou Chunhua nodded vigorously, like a child who would listen to whatever he said.
Gu Nuan turned her head away at this point.
This woman actually wished she would die! But just as Gu Nuan had stolen her son’s heart, this woman had also stolen the hearts of the Gu Family children.
Ou Yanan and Ou Chunhua turned around and walked to the elevator, soon disappearing at the hospital corner.
Tang Shaohong arrived after parking his car and saw the boss standing at the entrance, surprised: "Chairman?"
"Let’s take the stairs." Gu Nuan said.
Tang Shaohong was puzzled but certainly wouldn’t ask.
Tang Sili received a call from a student in Lingxin’s ward and said, "Mm, let Mrs. Ou sit in my office for a while; I’ll be there soon. I’ve looked over her medical history, and she’s recovering well. If she sticks to it for two more years, she should be considered basically cured."
Lingxin, though feverish, didn’t miss any word spoken to Ou Yanan. After he finished, Lingxin asked, "You’re treating that woman? When will he come see me?"
With a slight smile on his lips, Tang Sili bent down and patiently explained to the boss’s son: "He will come to see you, I promise. That’s the deal between him and me."
Lingxin’s mouth turned slightly askew.
Gu Nuan arrived at the hospital room.
Knowing that Mom had come, Mingli ran out first, hugged his mom’s leg, and said, "Mom, hold me for a while before you hug brother."
This second child loves to compete. They say being the second child comes with insecurity, which seems true.
Gu Nuan bent down and hugged her younger son with both hands: "Is that enough?"
"Mm—" Little Mingli grinned with satisfaction and gave his mom a kiss on the cheek, "Mom, go check on brother. I’ll wait next door."
Seeing him like this, the little monkey was quite well-behaved.
Gu’s mom and dad, watching nearby, shook their heads. Little Mingli was really good at taking advantage of the kind. Granny and Grandpa were easier to bully, which is why he was mischievous. Since Mom was tougher, he had to pretend to be good.
Gu Nuan waited for her second child to release her hand, pushed the door, and entered the elder son’s ward.
Hearing the sound, Lingxin opened his eyes and caught sight of her, showing the kind of emotion typical of normal children in his eyes.
Tang Sili first reported to the boss’s wife: "Pneumonia, a week of observation in the hospital."
"Thank you, Professor Tang," Gu Nuan said.
"You’re too kind, Chairman," Tang Sili finished, stepping aside, "Chairman, take a look at the young master. I’ll go handle some things."
"Alright, you go ahead." Gu Nuan replied.
Tang Sili pushed the door and left.
Gu Nuan walked to her son’s bedside, touched his face, and frowned, "A bit warm."
"Much better," Lingxin said, his small eyes fixed unwaveringly on his mom.
Seeing his gaze, Gu Nuan couldn’t help but smile: "We just saw each other last night and this morning, yet after a few hours apart, it’s like an eternity for you?"
Lingxin’s cheeks turned slightly red.
Mingli hadn’t left, standing by the door eavesdropping on his brother and mom. Hearing his mom say this, he pouted: "Humph, brother’s being clingy!"
Lingxin immediately twisted his mouth in anger.
Gu Nuan told the two quarrelsome little monkeys, "You guys can bicker, but your dad’s coming back the day after tomorrow, let’s see how he deals with you then."
Are kids more afraid of mom or dad? Most would say: Mom.
Because moms usually lose their temper, while dads generally don’t like disciplining kids.
In their family, though, the truth was the other way around. Gu Jinrong had established early on with Big White that since the monkeys inherited his genes, he should manage them. Furthermore, doesn’t he want two little followers?
Big White thought if his wife managed them while he didn’t, wouldn’t that give the two little monkeys a chance to cling to his wife and steal her away?
Hearing that the Big White Daddy was coming back, the two little monkeys instantly knew to behave and didn’t dare glare at each other anymore.
Gu Nuan tucked the blanket over her elder son, giving him a bit of water.
Lingxin, being sensible, asked, "Mom, do you have to go to the company this afternoon?"
"Yes," Gu Nuan answered.
"Then you should go. If anything happens, Professor Tang will call you."
Gu Nuan slightly lifted the corners of her mouth: "What, don’t want me to stay here with you a bit longer?"
Being caressed as she spoke, Lingxin’s face turned red up to his ears, clearly redder than during his fever.
"Alright then." Knowing her elder son was actually quite shy, Gu Nuan withdrew her hand, "I’ll leave later; I’ll be next door. If you want me, just call out and I’ll hear you."
Hearing this, Lingxin was at a loss for words. He had thought that with his mom gone, he could chat alone with that uncle’s man.
Gu Nuan left the ward and went next door, sitting down to watch her younger son play with blocks.
Gu’s mom and dad went downstairs together to prepare lunch boxes for their daughter and grandson.
After handing Ou Chunhua over to Tang Sili, Ou Yanan came over.
Seeing Gu Nuan downstairs, he knew there was no avoiding it. Before returning home, he had thought it through; however, upon meeting, everything seemed powerless.
Passing by the room where Gu Nuan and her son were, he glanced in and was stunned upon seeing Mingli: The little baby once freshly born had already grown this big.
