Contract Marriage: Abusive Love with Mr.CEO-Chapter 779 - 403: Extra: Sir Asked Me to Ask When You’ll Be Back? 2_2
"I think you’ll look great in this tomorrow."
He has a natural charisma, looking good in anything; the only consideration is whether the outfit suits the occasion he’s attending.
Skyler Jones didn’t say much. Deep down, he had always trusted her judgment and suddenly felt a sense of satisfaction having her by his side.
"Is something the matter?"
He asked her upon leaving the wardrobe.
"Since you’re back, I think I need to let you know..."
"What?"
He turned around, his brows slightly furrowed, seeming to sense that whatever she was about to say next would displease him.
Christine Quinn took a deep breath and said, "I mentioned to you over two months ago that I need to go abroad for a while..."
Skyler Jones replied indifferently with a "hm."
"I’ve bought the tickets."
Skyler Jones looked up suddenly, his frown deepening, "When?"
"Tonight."
Skyler Jones’s dim eyes showed obvious shock, "Tonight?"
Christine Quinn nodded.
"How long will you be gone?"
How long? Unless there’s a miracle, it should be forever...
"I don’t know." She gave him a rather vague answer.
"Does Marie know?"
"I haven’t told her yet. I was planning to, but since you came back, I decided not to, so she wouldn’t misunderstand and think I’m leaving to avoid you."
"Why is this so sudden?"
"It’s not sudden, I told you over two months ago."
"With Jonathon Gibson?"
"Yes."
Damn it, she really is leaving with him!!
Skyler Jones silently clenched his fists, but eventually, he didn’t explode; he just stared intently at her. Finally, his usual arrogance and self-confidence taught him to look away, and he said indifferently, "If you want to go, just go...but at least tell me a time when you’ll be back."
"Do you want to know when I’ll be back because you’re afraid the divorce will be delayed too long?"
"Yes!!" An inexplicable anger surged, Skyler Jones’s eyes flashed with a cold light.
Indeed, he couldn’t wait to divorce her...
He really had no attachment to her anymore.
She’s not sad, really...
Compared to when he told her he never cared for her, the pain in her heart now was not even a fraction of that moment...
At least at this moment she could comfort herself that she hadn’t lived in vain, she once had someone she loved and who loved her by her side.
She swallowed the choke in her throat, calmly said, "Don’t worry, I’ve already drafted the divorce agreement and signed it. I’ll give it to you later, if you want a divorce, just sign it anytime."
Skyler Jones impatiently snapped, "Anything else?"
Christine Quinn gently shook her head, "No more."
"Get out!!" Skyler Jones turned his back, irritably issuing an eviction order.
Christine Quinn slowly turned around, quietly leaving his room.
Once the slight sound of the door closing came from behind her, Skyler Jones only turned back, but her figure had already disappeared into the room.
Jonathon Gibson called Christine Quinn while she was chatting with Marie in the children’s room.
Marie hadn’t noticed at all that Christine Quinn was preparing to leave. She leaned against Christine Quinn like usual, chatting with her mother for a few minutes before sleepy eyes took over, eventually falling into a deep slumber.
Christine Quinn carefully moved herself so Marie could lay down on the bed. Seeing her daughter’s innocent and peaceful sleeping face, tears finally slid uncontrollably down her cheeks.
She couldn’t bear it...
She couldn’t bear to leave her daughter. But how could she let her daughter watch her slowly wither away?
Christine Quinn gently sat on the edge of the bed, reaching out to softly caress her daughter’s youthful, beautiful face, silently apologizing to her in the heart...
She was sorry to her daughter because she couldn’t watch her grow up like other mothers, or one day prepare a dowry for her with her own hands...
She never was a competent mother, couldn’t provide a normal family, and had once led her through a period of wandering from place to place, never indulging her excessively...
Her daughter was so strong that when she learned her parents were divorcing, she sensibly hid under the covers to cry, never letting her see it; afraid her mother would blame herself...
Her greatest pride in this life was having such a well-behaved, understanding child, but unfortunately, she could no longer stay by her side...
Gently closing the children’s room door, Christine Quinn sniffled and walked downstairs.
Outside the villa’s door, Jonathon Gibson’s car was already parked there.
Christine Quinn walked towards the car, Jonathon Gibson also alighted.
Seeing Christine Quinn, Jonathon Gibson slightly furrowed his brow, "Have you been crying?"
"No!"
"Yes, your eyes are red."
Christine Quinn fell silent.
Jonathon Gibson angrily exclaimed, "A man who doesn’t understand love, doesn’t cherish, doesn’t empathize, only knows how to disdain, mock, and maliciously hurt you, what is it about him that makes you reluctant?"
Christine Quinn replied softly, "You’re mistaken...I don’t have any reluctance towards him."
What she said was true, she really had no reluctance for him.
Attachment leads to reluctance, and she had no attachment to him.
The feelings she once wasn’t able to let go of, she had relinquished, her guilt and remorse towards him, she’d repaid with all her might throughout her life...so, between them, the relationship had ended here; she didn’t have to be reluctant because without her, he would certainly live a better life.
If it weren’t for meeting her, he might have married and had children a long time ago, living as happily as Howard Geoffrey and Becca; she had delayed him this life, she now...finally was giving back his peaceful world.
Jonathon Gibson gently held Christine Quinn’s slender shoulders, "He’s not worth you loving him like that."
Christine Quinn looked into Jonathon Gibson’s eyes, shaking her head, "No, he is worth it, but the him worth loving...no longer loves me."
Jonathon Gibson tenderly embraced Christine Quinn in his arms, "Why did I choose to give up when I saw him send you back back then? I should have insisted on staying by your side..."
"Don’t talk about it..."
