Chapter 226: Chapter 226: Summer Lowell Returns with Her Memories Restored

Maxim Sinclair glanced at Sheryl, who was laughing wildly over there, and nodded at Assistant Collins.

Understanding the cue, Assistant Collins stood up and laid a few photos in front of Sheryl: "Do you have anything to say about the evidence in front of you?"

Sheryl didn’t even look at the evidence before her, her eyes were fixed on Summer Lowell behind the table: "Even if you take a step back and prove these things were done by me, can you walk away unscathed?"

Summer’s gaze darkened, she quietly watched Sheryl, who was still laughing hysterically in the distance.

"I heard you’ve already resigned from Stellart Branch, so why would a resigned employee still help the company investigate me? Are you daydreaming, hoping that one day the company will show mercy and let you return as the Design Director?"

Summer slammed the table and stormed over to Sheryl in a rage: "If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have been fired by the company in the first place. Do you have any idea how many people’s hard work in the design department you destroyed out of greed?"

"Why the sudden change of script? You’re interrogating me, pretending with President Sinclair to fool me, right? It puzzled me, they said you lost your memory, but your reaction just now hardly seemed like someone with amnesia."

Summer suddenly realized she had lost her composure. She instinctively turned to look at Maxim Sinclair. Maxim had already taken a seat at some point, and seeing her look back, he gestured at her with a smile: "Continue, it’s hard to catch her, ask what you want to ask. I’ve already helped you gather the necessary evidence."

Assistant Collins, suppressing his surprise, brought the documents to Summer: "Madam, these are the relevant materials. Each Chapter here is enough to prove that she leaked the drafts back then. The legal team is ready, and you can decide to sue her anytime."

Upon hearing this, Sheryl wasn’t afraid at all. Instead, she laughed brazenly at Summer: "You’re quite lucky, even though the head office gave you an absurdly difficult task back then, you’ve managed to come away with quite a bit from it. At least President Sinclair still thinks fondly of you."

Summer had no time or mood to bicker with her. She opened the file folder in her hand, quickly skimmed through its contents, and then looked up at Sheryl: "I have very compelling evidence here that can prove you were behind the draft leak and the subsequent frame-up. Do you have anything else to say?"

"You’ve already got the evidence, there’s no point in denying it," Sheryl admitted readily but then looked at Summer, who was visibly shaken, and smiled slyly while reminding her, "Aren’t you curious about who instructed me to do this?"

Summer didn’t want to be led by the nose. She put away the documents, looked at Sheryl: "I thought you were jealous of my talent, that’s why you resorted to such lowly tactics."

"Just as you mentioned before, those leaked drafts were painstakingly created by the designers in the department. As one of them, if it wasn’t for lucrative conditions, how could I intentionally leak the drafts and frame someone, just because an inexperienced young director was parachuted in? Anyway, I saw long ago that you wouldn’t last long in that position. Too many people at the headquarters were dissatisfied with you."

The implication was clear that there was someone else behind the scenes.

Seeing Sheryl seemed inclined to confess, Summer’s tone also softened: "Who exactly is backing you? What conditions did they offer? As far as I know, you’ve been a designer at the Stellart Branch for a long time, and your family is quite well-off. Ordinary conditions wouldn’t sway you, right?"

"Of course, I’ve been a designer at the branch since graduation. Over the years, my youth has been dedicated here. I’ve completed several major projects with my colleagues. I have deep feelings for it, and to persuade me to do something like this, the offer had to be irresistible, and something I couldn’t refuse." Sheryl smiled at Summer and asked rhetorically, "Based on what you know about yourself, who would be willing to offer both the carrot and the stick to make me deal with you?"

As soon as Sheryl posed this question, Summer wanted to turn her head to see Maxim Sinclair’s reaction.

But fortunately, she hadn’t completely lost her mind and stopped just before turning. She continued following Sheryl’s lead: "I can’t figure it out, why don’t you just say it, be straightforward, admit what you need to admit, and make things easier for all of us, maybe you can reduce your prison time."

Sheryl, seeing Summer who was obviously well cared for, had a hint of discontent in her eyes.

Why!

Things in this world are really unfair.

The look in Sheryl’s eyes made Summer uncomfortable. She moved two steps closer and shook the folder containing the evidence in front of Sheryl: "No matter what, it has already happened. The evidence in my hands proves that you did this. Be straightforward, tell me who instructed you, and when I sue you, I’ll take it easy in ways that might make your future days less difficult."

Sheryl’s face wore a sarcastic smile, and it was hard to tell if she appreciated the gesture or not.

Just as Summer was about to lose her patience, Sheryl finally spoke: "Speaking of those supporting me, you know her too, right? You must have had dealings with her. It’s Tina Huxley, the daughter of Mr. Huxley, who is currently managing company affairs on behalf of the Huxley Group."

Hearing this name, Summer wasn’t surprised; instead, she felt the logic finally made sense.

She had never seen a look of kindness in Tina Huxley’s eyes, whether before her amnesia, after, or even now with her memory restored.

The way Tina looked at her always had jealousy written all over it.

Initially, when Summer worked as a secretary by Maxim Sinclair’s side, she was always curious if Tina had some sort of radar, as she could easily pick on her for no apparent reason.

After all, among the women who worked next to Maxim Sinclair, she was the only one targeted by Tina Huxley.

Because of this, Summer once suspected if she wasn’t acting well enough, if something she did exposed her, which made Tina focus on her.

But over time, Summer realized Tina didn’t like her simply because she saw her as a rival in love.

At first, Summer thought this was funny, but later, when she naturally became Maxim Sinclair’s girlfriend, she slowly realized that Tina was quite perceptive about these things.
