Conquering Ladies With My 10x Rebate System-Chapter 42: Family reunion
Chapter 42: Family reunion
{New Side Mission! Tied with ongoing missions: Nonchalant Son Earns Recognition}
{Impress the father}
{Task #0: Outbid a billionaire and stun the audience!}
{Reward: 5X the money spent!}
Caleb looked at the system notification with wide eyes.
This was the first time he was receiving such a mission from the system.
And if he was to think of it, it did make a lot of sense.
Since the primary aim of the system was to help him obtain his father’s inheritance!
But then—
"Outbidding a billionaire?"
He didn’t even have up to that!
With all the money he had accumulated from the system, he was barely at the fifty-million-dollar mark.
Going toe to toe with a billionaire in an auction was crazy work!
"But at least they can’t question my source of income now... And that’s the good thing."
He was holding back initially because spending suddenly with no source of income was sure to raise questions.
And that wouldn’t give him his father’s recognition—rather, it would become a threat to his father’s reputation.
Because people would frame his money to be from an illegal source.
Something he wanted to avoid.
Thankfully, he could avoid it now with no issue.
None of them had any idea that he was handing out the hall to Julia for free.
And they didn’t know a thing about the deal they made.
"At least I have an edge now, so I can spend more freely," Caleb thought to himself.
"They’ll definitely turn this auction upside down," Julia said with a deep frown, bringing Caleb’s attention back to the current situation.
That was right!
His siblings were there as well!
That auction was going to turn into a battleground.
"They’ll all want to impress Dad as well!" The realization struck Caleb like a bolt of lightning.
Even if they would try not to make it too obvious, it was going to be!
Everyone would try to impress their dad.
Even Julia herself wasn’t left out, although her case would be slightly different... since she was the one who hosted in the first place!
She was already taking the lead.
With the auction and how massive it was going to be, she would earn more recognition.
"Indirectly, she’s not even in the struggle with us... She’ll only have one competitor," Caleb thought to himself.
And there was only one name he could think of when it came to a competitor for Julia.
Nate Monrrow.
The eldest brother, and the richest among all the siblings.
If he was coming, then it was definitely to find a way to steal the show from Julia.
How he would do that? Was what they were yet to know.
"When you called Dad, where was he?" Caleb asked.
Before Julia could respond, the quiet hum of Menadin City’s streets erupted into chaos.
Sirens blared, following behind a figure.
"Shit! That’s a Bugatti La Voiture Noire!" someone shouted.
"Who the hell rolls up in a car like that?!"
"Look at the fleet behind him—this is insane!"
Whispers turned into full-blown chatter.
People scrambled for a better look, their voices blending into a storm of excitement and disbelief.
Julia gave Caleb a knowing glance, a small smirk playing at the corner of her lips.
"I guess you have your answer now," she said, nodding toward the window.
Through the glass, Caleb watched as the sleek black Bugatti came to a smooth stop.
The car door opened.
And from it stepped Jin Monrrow—calm, composed, and commanding, like the street was his runway.
"Fuck! It’s Jin Monrrow in the flesh!"
His oxblood Stuart Hughes diamond suit hugged his muscular frame with tailored precision.
With a smooth flick of his wrist, he adjusted the golden Paul Newman Daytona 6263 Rolex glinting under the sun.
Then, with deliberate calm, he slid on his Chopard De Rigo Vision sunglasses, the lenses catching the city’s light as he stared ahead at the towering mega hall before him.
Even with his gray hairs, he looked anything but old.
His very presence radiated luxury and untouchable wealth—an aura that made people step back without being told.
The outfit alone could buy out two city blocks near the Mega Hall, and still leave change.
His secretary appeared swiftly at his side, moving with the practiced grace of someone used to red carpets and flashing lights.
The guards wasted no time, parting the crowd like waves before a ship, shoving people aside with mechanical precision—as if a single touch from them might tarnish the perfection he carried with him.
Jin walked with boldness and effortless confidence—like a man who owned the entire city and knew it.
Caleb turned to Julia with a sigh.
"This is really going to be a long day, isn’t it?"
Julia’s gaze lingered on their father below.
"Honestly, I’d love to say otherwise... but yeah, it will be. Come on, let’s get ready. The auction starts in a few minutes. I need to welcome Dad—and every other VIP in the audience."
With one last glance at the man downstairs, she turned and walked off, leaving Caleb alone with his thoughts.
"Is it just me, or are these system missions getting tougher?" Caleb sighed inwardly.
He hadn’t expected the road to be smooth—but a bit of a head start before the hurdles kicked in wouldn’t have hurt.
He made his way toward one of the VIP boxes. He’d be dealing with plenty of guests soon enough, but that could wait until after the auction.
As he entered, he immediately spotted Naya already seated. The moment their eyes met, her expression soured.
Caleb let out another sigh.
’And then there’s the whole women situation...’ he thought, settling into the seat beside her.
"You still mad about what my sister said?" he asked gently, keeping his voice calm and warm.
Naya scoffed.
"Of course I’m mad. Why wouldn’t I be?" She turned to face him fully.
"Why would you go around telling people about... about that stuff?"
It took her a few attempts to get the words out, her frustration clear in every pause.
"I didn’t tell her," Caleb said, letting out a tired breath.
He’d said it more times than he could count, but Naya just wouldn’t let it go.
"I’ve told you already—she figured it out on her own."
But Naya wasn’t buying it.
"Then how did she get to know?" she snapped. "You know, if you’re going to lie, at least try to make it believab—"
Her words stopped.
She blinked in confusion as something soft pressed against her lips.
Caleb’s mouth.
Before she could process it, his lips moved against hers, firm but gentle. Then she felt his tongue slip between her parted lips, tracing deep, as if claiming the silence he’d been asking for all along.
Her eyes widened in shock, heart hammering against her chest.
When he finally pulled back, Caleb straightened his suit and adjusted his cuff like nothing had happened.
"I figured that’s what you really wanted," he said calmly, turning his eyes toward the stage. "At least now, you’re quiet."
Beside him, Naya sat frozen—her face flushed a deep peach red, lips slightly parted, utterly speechless.
She wanted to shout. Scream. Freeze his throat with a shard of ice and snap it in two.
But her body wouldn’t move.
It was like her limbs had been rooted to the spot—paralyzed by the humiliation washing over her like a bucket of cold water.
"Wait... isn’t that Naya Lucy and Caleb Monrrow?" someone whispered behind them, just loud enough for her ears to catch.
The heat in her cheeks flared tenfold.
"Oh, you haven’t heard? Naya Lucy’s head over heels for Caleb Monrrow. Rumor has it she’s the reason he got the money to build this whole hall."
"Seriously? I mean... I always figured they were close, but this?"
Naya’s hands curled into tight fists on her lap. She bit her lip and shot Caleb a sideways glare, the embarrassment boiling into frustration.
"Maybe if you just accepted that you like me, it wouldn’t be so hard," Caleb said with a wicked grin, locking eyes with her.
She turned sharply, but the fire in her eyes faltered beneath his steady gaze.
Again, her anger melted—evaporating into something she didn’t want to name.
"And if you don’t take me now..." Caleb leaned in slightly, his voice low and taunting, "who knows? You might end up sharing me. Or losing me entirely."
"Hmph... who gives a damn about you?" she snapped, turning her head away, but the tremble in her voice betrayed her.
Caleb leaned back in his seat, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips.
Whether she realized it or not, his test was complete.
’If it comes down to adding a second... she won’t leave,’ Caleb mused, eyes narrowing slightly in thought.
His gaze drifted toward the grand entrance of the hall where Julia stood, welcoming guests with flawless poise. Further inside, their father sat stiffly in one of the high VIP boxes, his stone-cold face scanning the stage like he was calculating its value down to the last brick.
Caleb’s eyes swept across the room.
His older brother was there too, seated just a row below their father. One by one, he spotted the rest of his siblings.
Just like Julia said. They were all here.
The entire Monrrow family had gathered under one roof.
A hush slowly settled over the hall as the auctioneer stepped onto the stage and lifted the microphone. The massive doors slid shut with a final, resounding thud.
Caleb shifted his gaze to the stage.
’It’s time to bid,’ he thought.
"Good evening, esteemed guests," the auctioneer announced, his voice echoing with polished authority.
"Tonight, we begin the official bidding with our first item..."
