Chapter 104: Thoughts on Launch

At midnight on June 1st, this book officially goes on sale.

Here’s an early note for the launch, along with a plea for subscriptions and monthly votes.

Since the book’s official upload at the end of March, "Sword Spirit Cohabitation Diary" has been serialized for over two months. First, thank you to the new and old readers who have followed along the way. Thank you for enjoying this uniquely styled comedy novel. Your support is a crucial motivation for me to continue, thank you!

Now, a few casual remarks. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"Sword Spirit Cohabitation Diary" is the first novel I have fully committed to since going full-time. Whether it’s the initial character setting, the background structure of the Sword Spirit world, or the detailed outlines of each volume’s plot, this is the work I have put the most serious effort into over my years of writing. The early stage settings of the work were overturned and revised several times, resulting in the current Sword Spirit world. When I had completely organized the detailed outlines of the first three volumes and designed the main plot of the fourth and fifth volumes, there was even a bold feeling that everything was ready and just waiting to unfold. In all my years of writing, I have never so meticulously organized an outline before, and drawing on the lessons learned from so many past works, Sword Spirit should be going one step further on the shoulders of giants.

But once I started writing, I was inevitably apprehensive.

Because this is a novel vastly different in style from before, almost forsaking all accumulated experience from the past.

This book lacks a tight and direct main storyline, it doesn’t have intense and fast-paced plot conflicts, there’s no dazzling male protagonist who steals the spotlight, and not even Feng Yin, the perpetual female lead who has accompanied my creative career for years.

There is only an adorably dumb Celestial Divine Sword, a somewhat tsundere girl, a tsundere max mother-in-law, and various other quirky characters, embarking on one slice-of-life comedy after another.

I’ve written many similar anecdotes, but I’ve never tried to use this kind of material as the focus to support an online novel that might serialize for several million words, nor even thought of it before.

However, I feel that this kind of adventure and innovation is still necessary, because for me, repeating the past is truly a tiresome thing.

Perhaps only when I can no longer come up with ideas that bring joy and excitement in my mind, will I willingly integrate past experiences and write a more mature, commercialized work. At least for now, I want to write something new.

If I can really achieve this, and this novel, which significantly deviates from mainstream online fiction conventions, can successfully serialize through millions of words smoothly and steadily, it would surely be an achievement worth remembering throughout my entire writing career.

I believe I can do it.

I also hope that the readers can believe I can do it.

On June 1st, the book goes live, seeking a subscription and a monthly vote from readers.

As June is the new book month, I will give my all to update, maintaining quality and quantity, asking for a subscription, asking for a monthly vote.

As the first work since going full-time, that sort of slow-paced daily update until completion should no longer be a concern, rest assured in following the updates, no need to wait too long.

Oh, and a long time ago, I made a ridiculous bet with the VIP group readers. Although I personally think it can’t be fulfilled, I should at least mention it.

If the new book receives the top monthly votes in June, I’ll post a photo in women’s clothing.

Gentlemen, please go at your own pace, no need to defy the heavens.
