Chapter 452: Chapter 452: The Comfort of Home

Sunlight slipped quietly into the cave, brushing against the soft furs and the still figure lying on the bed.

Su Qinglan slowly woke up.

For a moment, she did not move. She simply lay there, feeling her body. A deep sense of satisfaction filled her from inside out. It was warm, soft, and calm... like everything had finally settled.

More importantly, her body no longer ached.

A faint smile appeared on her lips.

She closed her eyes again and gently circulated her plant-type ability through her body.

A soft green glow flickered faintly under her skin, moving slowly from her chest to her limbs, soothing every inch of soreness that remained. Wherever the energy passed, the slight stiffness and fatigue completely disappeared.

Only after making sure there was no lingering soreness did she finally relax.

Then...

She frowned slightly.

Instinctively, she shifted her body and moved closer, trying to lean into the familiar warmth that should have been beside her.

But there was nothing. Her hand touched only empty space. Su Qinglan paused as her eyes slowly opened.

The cave ceiling came into her view, familiar and quiet. For a moment, her mind was still hazy, but as she blinked and looked around, everything became clearer.

This place...

Her gaze moved across the stone walls, the familiar arrangement, the furs, the small details.

"This is... my cave?" she murmured softly.

It took her a few seconds, but then it clicked. She was back in her cave in the mermaid tribe. She quickly turned her head, looking to her left and right.

There is no one in sight.

The bed was empty except for her. Her heart skipped slightly.

"Where are they...?

"And the cubs...?"

She immediately sat up. Only then did she realize that she was already dressed in her own clothes. Someone had clearly taken care of her while she was asleep.

Her brows furrowed slightly in confusion.

Who brought her back?

And where was everyone?

At that moment, a dry feeling spread through her throat.

"Ah..."

She touched her neck lightly. She was thirsty. Pushing aside her thoughts for now, she got off the bed and walked out of the inner cave.

After drinking cool water, she finally relaxed and walked out of the cave. The moment she stepped outside, the fresh air greeted her.

Her eyes landed on a familiar figure not far away. It was Xuan Long.

He was sitting on the ground lazily, his long snake tail stretched behind him. The cubs were happily circling around him, their tiny bodies chasing his tail with excitement.

"Whoa...Grrr!" Xiao Yi and Xiao Er shouted excitedly. They were like kittens chasing a fur ball.

Xiao Yi pounced forward, trying to grab the moving tail, only to tumble over and roll on the ground.

Xuan Long looked completely bored.

His emerald eyes were half-lidded, as if he were lost in his own thoughts, barely paying attention to the cubs playing around him.

But the moment Su Qinglan appeared, his gaze snapped toward her.

In an instant, his long snake tail disappeared. He stood up and walked straight toward her.

"Lan Lan, you’re awake."

Before she could say anything, he leaned down and gently kissed her forehead.

"Are you tired?" he asked softly. "I’ll cook some eggs for you."

Su Qinglan blinked at him, still a little dazed.

Then she looked up at the sky. The light was already dim.

"Evening?" she whispered in disbelief.

"Oh my god... did I really sleep that long?" Her mind became even more confused.

Just what happened after she fell asleep?

Was it Shi Feng who brought her back?

Before she could think further, movement came from the forest.

One by one, the others returned.

Han Jue and Hu Yan walked out first, each carrying large prey on their shoulders. Fresh blood still dripped slightly, showing they had just finished hunting.

Behind them, Rong Ye appeared with an armful of fruits and several gugu beast eggs carefully held together.

It looked like they had all gone out to gather food.

"Lanlan!"

Only than the stunned cubs saw her standing there, they froze for a second.

Then...

"Mother!!"

All of them rushed toward her at once. Su Qinglan barely had time to react before small bodies crashed into her legs.

"Mom, you’re awake!"

"We missed you!"

"Mom, hug!"

The cubs growled loudly in their language, but Su Qinglan felt like she already knew what they were saying. She laughed softly, bending down to catch them.

The cubs clung to her, their tiny hands grabbing onto her clothes as they tried to climb up her body.

"Mwah! Mwah! Mwah!"

Wet kisses landed all over her face.

Su Qinglan froze for a second before letting out a helpless laugh.

"Alright, alright... one at a time..."

But the cubs clearly had no intention of listening.

They continued to shower her with kisses, their laughter ringing around her.

Her heart softened completely. Not far away, Stove also came running over.

He stopped in front of her and nuzzled against her gently, his movements unusually obedient.

Su Qinglan looked at him for a moment.

"You’re acting strange today," she said lightly.

But she did not question further. She simply reached out and patted his head.

Stove immediately wrapped around her calf and nudged her affectionately.

Inside, however, he was trembling.

Don’t say anything... Don’t say anything...

He firmly shut his mouth. If he dared to reveal even a single detail about what happened before...

He was sure his grave would be ready by tomorrow. But just as he was trembling, something immediately fell towards him. And before he knew it, he had already caught it.

Only to realised it was a big fish, his expression brightened before he immediately drag the fish away, completely forgotting about his master.

Today he would grill fish for his female.

Su Qinglan watched him leave, slightly puzzled, but she could only shake her head. Stove was never put in one place; he just liked disappearing too much, and she never questioned it.

She then looked around again.

"...Where is Shi Feng?" she asked.

The moment her words fell, all the men stiffened.

The atmosphere turned slightly strange. Before anyone else could speak, Rong Ye suddenly stepped forward and laughed.

"Lanlan, you only remember him? We are here too." He leaned down and kissed her cheek. Hu Yan immediately followed, kissing her other cheek.

"Hey...!"

Han Jue, who had just put down a large prey, walked over quickly and directly kissed her on the lips.

Rong Ye and Hu Yan both froze.

"That’s cheating!"

"You can’t do that!"

Han Jue simply smiled calmly, completely ignoring their protests.

Su Qinglan blinked, caught between laughter and helplessness.

Then Han Jue gently touched her head and said, "Lan Lan, Shi Feng will be back soon."

"He went to gather firewood."

Su Qinglan nodded slowly.

"I see..."
