Clinging to Devoted Fiancé, Heiress Slays the World!-Chapter 951: Can I Have You?
"Mm." Ji Wei nodded cautiously, "If it weren’t for his help last night, we—"
"Go if you want to." Mo Qian glanced at her silently for a moment and said.
Why did she feel like he was a bit unhappy about this?
After finishing their meal, Ji Wei went upstairs for a quick tidy-up, and as she stepped out of the living room, she saw Mo Qian leaning against the car door, with one hand in his pocket, looking handsome and dignified.
She was slightly surprised, thinking he wasn’t planning to give her a ride.
As the car was nearing London Hospital, Ji Wei saw a flower shop outside the window and remembered she shouldn’t visit a patient empty-handed.
"Mo Qian, stop at the intersection ahead, I need to buy a bouquet of flowers." She turned her head and said to him.
"No need to buy anything." Mo Qian looked straight ahead, speaking calmly without slowing down.
Ji Wei blinked, "Should I buy some fruit then? Going without anything feels a bit inappropriate..."
"Our visit alone is giving him plenty of face, nothing inappropriate about it."
"..."
In the end, Ji Wei really didn’t buy anything, and when she reached William’s ward, she felt a bit embarrassed to go in.
But Mo Qian had already pushed open the ward door first, so she had no choice but to follow.
Inside the ward, William was chatting with a blonde, blue-eyed nurse. Even though he had just had surgery and looked pale and weak, it didn’t stop him from flirting with the ladies.
The nurse was so amused by his words that she couldn’t stop laughing.
Ji Wei hadn’t expected such a scene at all and stood there awkwardly.
Should she just leave?
Just as she had the thought and hadn’t yet turned around, William noticed them and immediately restrained his smile, frowning and weakly said, "Nurse Mary, my wound suddenly hurts, I want to lie down properly."
Nurse Mary looked confused, glanced at Ji Wei and Mo Qian, then nodded and left the room.
"It seems Mr. William is doing quite well in the hospital, no need for a visit—"
Before Mo Qian finished speaking, William quickly said, "How could it be well? I’m stuck in bed unable to move, can’t do anything, it’s good you came so I can have some company."
"What did the doctor say?" Ji Wei walked over to stand by the bedside and asked.
William’s face fell at her question, and he said gloomily, "The bullet injured the spinal nerve, one leg might be numb from now on, and I’ll spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair."
"That serious?" Ji Wei looked at him in shock.
Mo Qian came over, put an arm around Ji Wei’s shoulder, and a hint of coldness flashed in his eyes as he looked at William, "Mr. William, that joke went a bit too far. Since you seem to enjoy your time in the hospital, we’ll take our leave."
Joking?
Ji Wei rolled her eyes hard at William.
He’s indeed a vile man with a low sense of humor!
Seeing the two were about to leave, William hurriedly blurted out, "Wait! I just didn’t want the atmosphere to be too heavy, I’m really happy you came to see me."
The words were somewhat sincere.
Ji Wei was initially angry about his joking, but considering he was shot in the abdomen and lost so much blood last night, and just had surgery not long ago, it couldn’t have healed so fast, his ease was likely feigned, so her anger dissipated.
She looked steadily at William, "William, I came to sincerely say thank you, though I still can’t bring myself to like you, you always have that punchable look, but it’s good your heart isn’t bad."
"Thank you for the compliment, Miss Ji." William’s face returned to its usual arrogant but radiant smile.
"I don’t like owing people. If there’s anything you need, just say it." Ji Wei added.
William curved his lips, looking at her, "Can I ask for you?"
