Clinging to Devoted Fiancé, Heiress Slays the World!-Chapter 703: Mr. Gu, you will eventually drive your wife away if you keep this up
Hearing her son’s cries, Ji Wei’s heart tightened as she hurried toward the VIP lounge.
The staff at the door blocked her outside.
"My child is in there. He’s crying for his mom... Let me in, I’ll only be a moment!"
Ji Wei spoke urgently, her expression filled with anxiety. Seeing the staff still refusing, she bit her lip and fell silent for a few seconds, fists clenched tightly by her sides. In the next moment, she suddenly burst forward, pushing her head down and trying to rush inside.
"Miss, you’re not allowed to go in..." The staff chased after her.
Ji Wei, frantic and distracted, wasn’t watching where she was going. She collided directly with a man’s broad shoulder as she rushed in.
Covering her throbbing forehead, she looked up and saw Gu Moqian’s coldly indifferent face. She froze in her tracks.
However, Ji Wei only glanced at him briefly before continuing inside.
Gu Moqian wanted to move, but his legs felt impossibly heavy. The furious intensity in the woman’s single glance just now struck him like a thunderclap.
The staff member who had been chasing her stopped upon seeing Gu Moqian. His cold, oppressive aura sent shivers down their spine, and they backed away in fear without daring to approach.
"Give me the child."
Ji Wei took An An from Zhao Wanqing’s arms, her heart aching as she gently soothed him, "An An, don’t cry. Mommy’s here now..."
An An’s tears had drenched his cheeks, his little face flushed red. But as soon as he saw Ji Wei, the little boy stopped crying immediately.
Seeing the damp, curled lashes still clinging to her son’s teary eyes, Ji Wei bitterly regretted leaving him with Zhao Wanqing earlier. Bowing her head, she held An An tightly to her chest, unwilling to linger for even a moment longer. Turning on her heel, she walked away.
The women who had been gossiping earlier were stunned. So this woman was the real mother?
Gu Moqian still stood where he was.
Ji Wei stared coldly at that tall, indifferent figure with growing icy resolve in her eyes.
"You don’t even flinch hearing your own son cry. Gu Moqian, you’re truly remarkable." As she passed by him, Ji Wei paused briefly, her tone laced with biting sarcasm.
Her expression was distant, void of warmth, and she didn’t spare him a single glance. With those words, she strode out quickly.
Gu Moqian’s face turned exceedingly dark, his pitch-black gaze following Ji Wei’s steps as she disappeared from the lounge.
"Mr. Gu, keep pushing like this and you’re going to lose your wife for good." Zhao Wanqing approached him, her tone indifferent. With that, she hurried in the direction Ji Wei had gone.
Ji Wei forced back the tears threatening to overflow as she walked swiftly toward the airport lobby exit.
"Ji Wei, wait a moment!"
Zhao Wanqing called behind her, but Ji Wei turned a deaf ear.
Accelerating her pace, she ran ahead of Ji Wei, reaching out to steady her arm and gasping for breath as she spoke, "I’m sorry. I didn’t think things through. Could you wait? Perhaps there’s still room to turn things around."
"It’s no longer necessary."
Ji Wei looked at her, replying icily.
Gu Moqian’s attitude toward his son had truly wounded Ji Wei. His cold indifference, his utter lack of humanity—it chilled her to the core.
Up until this point, no matter how harsh Gu Moqian’s words were to her, Ji Wei had endured it all. But An An was his flesh and blood, and yet he could harden his heart against his own child...
A man so cruelly detached, what was there left to cling to?
Ji Wei pulled her arm away and walked forward decisively.
Zhao Wanqing could see Ji Wei was genuinely furious. Refusing to give up, she rushed ahead to persuade her again, "Ji Wei, calm down first. If Mr. Gu goes back to Britain this time, he probably won’t return again. Today is the only chance..."
Ji Wei’s lips curved into a cold smile, her voice steady yet frigid: "Where he goes and who he’s with is no longer any concern of mine. Tell him that once I’m back, I’ll sign the divorce papers. This time, it’s really over."
