Clinging to Devoted Fiancé, Heiress Slays the World!-Chapter 678: Handsome guy, don’t be shy, let the young lady give you a kiss
Knock, knock, knock...
Ji Wei frantically knocked on the door.
No one came to open the door, so she pressed the doorbell. After it rang three times, she heard the sound of the lock turning, and then the door opened.
A young man appeared before her, dressed casually in a hoodie and jeans, yet looking neat and proper.
"Where’s Duoduo?"
Without waiting for the young man to answer, Ji Wei stepped past him and walked straight inside.
The air in the room was stuffy, carrying the smell of instant noodles and beer. Ji Wei couldn’t help but wrinkle her nose.
The blanket on the sofa was crumpled into a messy ball. A half-eaten box of instant noodles sat on the coffee table, and several empty beer cans were haphazardly tossed on the floor.
What is going on here?
"Sorry... It’s a bit messy." The young man, noticing Ji Wei’s grim expression, quickly grabbed the nearby trash bin and threw the instant noodle box inside, then bent over to pick up the beer cans.
Ji Wei said nothing and hurried toward the direction of the bedroom.
She pushed open the door and saw Xia Duoduo sprawled out across the two-meter-wide bed, still wearing the spaghetti strap dress from last night. Ji Wei secretly sighed in relief.
It looked like Duoduo hadn’t been taken advantage of.
Ji Wei walked over, picked up the blanket Xia Duoduo had kicked to the floor, and leaned over to pat her face, softly calling, "Duoduo, wake up."
With her eyes closed, Xia Duoduo grumbled irritably, "Don’t bother me. I saw a super handsome guy... Handsome guy, don’t be shy, let this big sister kiss you..." Her lips glistened with a hint of drool as she grinned foolishly in her sleep.
Ji Wei: "..."
Giving up on trying to wake her, Ji Wei tucked the blanket around Xia Duoduo, closed the door, and turned to leave.
Thanks to the young man’s tidying, the living room now looked much more presentable. Seeing Ji Wei come out, the young man greeted her warmly, "Your friend was tossing and turning until the middle of the night before finally falling asleep. It’s normal she can’t wake up now."
"Why are you with Duoduo?" Ji Wei stopped in front of him, her sharp gaze locking onto his face.
There’s no way this guy wouldn’t have any ulterior motives toward Duoduo, is there? Ji Wei didn’t believe it.
"You’re misunderstanding. My friend and I ran into Miss Xia at the bar. She was very drunk and refused to tell us where she lived. We had no choice but to bring her to the hotel."
Two men spending the night with Duoduo without anything happening could only mean Duoduo was incredibly lucky. If she’d encountered men with bad intentions, in her drunk state last night, she’d have surely suffered.
Thinking about this, Ji Wei felt a pang of guilt. She shouldn’t have left the bar with Gu Moqian, abandoning Duoduo.
Ji Wei’s skeptical eyes studied the boy in front of her. "You’re strangers to Duoduo. Why would you go out of your way to help her?"
"My friend knows Miss Xia," the young man said. "As for who he is, I have to keep that confidential."
"Where’s your friend? Did he run off after doing something shady?" Ji Wei interrogated him aggressively.
"No, absolutely not..." The young man waved his hands in denial. "He isn’t that kind of person."
"Then tell me his name."
Feeling that there was something fishy about the situation, Ji Wei planned to continue her questioning when she heard Xia Duoduo’s weak voice behind her: "I’m so thirsty..." Turning around, she saw Duoduo peeking her head out while clutching the door frame.
"I’ll pour you some water."
Before she could finish speaking, Duoduo added, "I want a cold drink, orange-flavored."
Ji Wei: "..."
She sighed. "Wait here, I’ll go down to the convenience store and buy it for you."
"I’ll go buy it," the young man offered quickly.
Ji Wei shook her head. "You don’t know which brand she likes."
One of Xia Duoduo’s quirks was her fondness for drinks, especially hard-to-find ones from the H Country.
"Little Wei, I knew you were the best!" Xia Duoduo staggered over with wobbly steps, wrapped her arms around Ji Wei’s neck, and gave her a loud kiss on the cheek, fawning shamelessly.
Ji Wei didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She rolled her eyes at Duoduo. "After you sober up, go freshen up. I’ll take you home later."
