Clinging to Devoted Fiancé, Heiress Slays the World!-Chapter 607: Indulging Her Over and Over Again
At this moment, the host on stage was asking Ye Cheng a question. The noise of the fans around made it impossible for Zimei to hear what he said, but even just quietly looking at him like this, her heart felt full.
The press conference ended, followed by the screening of the movie "Shadow."
Fans and media with tickets began moving toward the screening hall, and soon, the crowded masses had dispersed.
Zimei, with an indescribable feeling, grabbed her purse and stepped toward the backstage in her high heels.
In the dressing room, Ye Cheng was discussing something with Zhao Shu when he suddenly heard the assistant call out at the doorway, "Mr. Ye, someone’s looking for you."
Ye Cheng’s phoenix eyes slightly narrowed, and the delicate face standing amid the crowd kept surfacing in his mind. He gave a few instructions to Zhao Shu before stepping outside.
Others in the dressing room curiously peeked toward the door, while the assistant stood dutifully by the entrance. As soon as Ye Cheng stepped out, she couldn’t help but whisper excitedly, "It’s a woman!"
The whole room burst into murmurs.
Zimei leaned against the wall, waiting for Ye Cheng to come out.
To ease the inexplicable tension in her heart, she pulled out a slender lady’s cigarette and held it between her fingers. However, before she could light it, Ye Cheng appeared in front of her.
Seeing him glance at the cigarette in her hand, Zimei quickly smiled and tossed it back into her purse, her red lips parting lightly, "I won’t smoke."
"Come with me."
With people bustling through the corridor, standing here too long was bound to attract attention. Ye Cheng said calmly before heading toward the nearby lounge. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
The door of the lounge closed behind them. Ye Cheng stopped in his tracks and asked, "What’s the matter?"
Zimei turned her head, looking at his sharp yet beguiling features, her smile radiant and alluring. "You look lovely with this," she said.
Ye Cheng froze for a moment before realizing she was referring to the scarf.
"Hmm." His response was cold.
Zimei, however, didn’t mind. With a playful glint in her eyes and an irresistible allure, she stared at him intently, as though she couldn’t get enough of looking at him. "A Cheng, invite me to watch a movie," she said.
Ye Cheng: "..."
"I gave you this scarf, so you invite me to a movie—a fair exchange, don’t you think?" she added.
Ye Cheng’s lips stiffened slightly.
He had inexplicably worn the scarf she gifted him today. He must have been out of his mind.
"The tickets are all gone," he said plainly.
He had already watched the screening in Venice and hadn’t planned to watch it again today.
"I trust you can make it happen," Zimei said with certainty.
Her eyes were filled with anticipation as she looked at him. Ye Cheng’s thin lips pressed tightly together. Suddenly, he turned to leave. Not long after, he returned with a movie ticket in his hand.
Zimei’s face instantly lit up with a smile, like a child gleefully winning a piece of candy.
She took the ticket, playfully batted her lashes, and asked, "Big agent, care to accompany me?"
Ye Cheng: "..."
A few minutes later.
In the darkened theater, the giant screen at the front was showing a Venice Film Festival-nominated film, "Shadow."
The two had entered too late, so to avoid disturbing others, they chose seats in the rearmost row.
"Thank you, A Cheng!"
Zimei turned her head and looked at the man beside her, her starry eyes glimmering.
The day’s events felt like a dream. Ye Cheng was wearing the scarf she had given him and now watching a movie with her. Did this count as a date?
She was reluctant to look away, afraid that turning her gaze might make this all vanish as though it were an illusion.
Ye Cheng stared unwaveringly at the movie screen, the flickering light casting fragmented shadows across his cool yet handsome face. But his inner thoughts were far from calm.
He had indulged Zimei’s requests again and again.
This must be because he woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!
