Chapter 598: Chapter 598: I Like You!

"..." Ye Cheng pressed his lips together and said nothing.

"I knew you wouldn’t guess. Never mind! I’ll tell you." Zimei’s voice remained cheerful, and then she said, "Take a look downstairs to your left."

Ye Cheng’s expression froze.

He set down his phone and turned his head, glancing downstairs.

Zimei, wearing a bright red trench coat, stood below, her face tilted upward as she waved at him. Her exquisite and alluring face lit up with an exceptionally radiant smile.

Xia Duoduo’s mood suddenly took a downturn. She walked a few sluggish steps before catching sight of a striking red figure outside the window, downstairs. It was glaringly vivid.

This was the second time she had seen Zimei.

The last time was on the cruise ship, where this sultry woman stole the attention of everyone the moment she appeared.

And now, wearing a simple red trench coat with her curly hair tied into a ponytail, she still couldn’t mask the enchanting allure that ran deep in her bones.

Xia Duoduo’s heart felt as if a thorn had been lodged in it, the pain sharp enough to catch her breath.

What’s worse, she saw Ye Cheng heading downstairs.

From a distance, she couldn’t hear what the two of them were saying, but she could see Zimei handing something into Ye Cheng’s hands.

Ye Cheng’s expression remained indifferent, while the woman kept smiling and speaking.

He, striking and handsome; she, gorgeous and dazzling—standing together, they looked impeccably harmonious, like a couple straight out of a magazine cover.

Xia Duoduo’s fingers clutched tightly onto the wooden window frame, her eyes veiled with a film of moisture.

About five minutes later, Zimei left.

Xia Duoduo still stood motionless in front of the window, silent tears streaming down her face.

It was only when footsteps suddenly sounded behind her that she snapped out of her daze. Hurriedly, she raised her hand to wipe away her tears, lowering her head to continue leaning against the wall as she walked away.

She had her back to Ye Cheng as she moved, and perhaps it was her foul mood, but her rushed steps caused her to lose balance and stumble. Ye Cheng quickly strode forward to catch her.

As Ye Cheng held her steady, he caught a glimpse of the faint traces of tears on Xia Duoduo’s face, causing his expression to momentarily falter.

While being supported by him, Xia Duoduo naturally noticed the item in his hand.

Ye Cheng carried a paper shopping bag, inside which lay a brown scarf that appeared soft and warm.

Was it knitted for him by that woman?

Xia Duoduo’s heart trembled violently. She quickly pushed him away, turning her face aside to prevent her emotions from being detected by the man. "I’m fine."

"That’s enough practice for today. You can go rest now," Ye Cheng said flatly.

"It’s fine; I still want to practice for a bit longer." Xia Duoduo leaned against the wall and continued walking, forcing her lips into a weak smile.

"I’ve got some things to attend to. Take care of yourself."

At Ye Cheng’s words, Xia Duoduo’s nails suddenly scratched heavily against the wall. She forced down her trembling voice and asked, "Was that your girlfriend just now?"

This was the first time she asked him about his private matters. She and Ye Cheng had never discussed such topics before.

Ye Cheng’s retreating figure hesitated slightly before he coldly replied, "My personal affairs are none of your concern."

As he took a step to leave, the suppressed frustration in Xia Duoduo’s chest exploded unexpectedly, forcing her to blurt out, "I like you!"

Ye Cheng turned back to look at her, his expression no longer the perpetually neutral indifference it usually was. A hint of surprise flickered in his deep, dark eyes.

Faced with his stare, Xia Duoduo clenched her fists, determined to throw caution to the wind: "Ye Cheng, I like you. I’m serious. I’m not joking."

Her face flushed red, and her wide eyes locked onto him unwaveringly.

After a brief moment of astonishment, Ye Cheng’s voice regained its distant indifference. "Xia Duoduo, I am your agent. The relationship between us is strictly professional. I hope you understand that."

Coldly finishing his statement, Ye Cheng turned and walked out of the room.

Xia Duoduo felt as though all the strength had been drained from her body. She leaned against the wall, scarcely able to support herself, and her tears came rolling down once more.

Of course, it was all her wishful thinking. He didn’t have even the slightest other intention toward her...
