Clinging to Devoted Fiancé, Heiress Slays the World!-Chapter 594: Covered in Blood Below...
No one knew how it all happened. Sister Mu was the first to react, her face pale as she rushed to the railing and looked down.
Lin Qian lay sprawled on the ground, blood pooling beneath her...
"Qianqian! Qianqian! Somebody... get someone here, quick, save her!" Sister Mu shouted incoherently, completely overwhelmed by panic.
Xiao Yue stared blankly at her own hands. Seeing more and more people flooding toward the balcony, she suddenly snapped out of it. In a panic, she started to stumble away, pushing against the crowd.
Ji Wei didn’t look away until Xiao Yue’s figure disappeared outside the restaurant.
She supported a visibly shaken Xia Duoduo and walked out as well.
Mary finished dealing with the two troublesome security guards and hurriedly followed.
The nanny car was parked right at the restaurant’s entrance.
Just as Ji Wei was about to get in the car, out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of a skinny figure trembling in fear in the shadows of the alley across the street.
Ji Wei immediately called Mary over and whispered a few words into her ear. Then she watched as Mary quickly crossed the street, heading toward the alley.
In less than a minute, Mary returned with a deeply shocked Xiao Yue and brought her onto the nanny car.
After confirming there were no surveillance cameras and no witnesses, Mary finally got into the car herself.
Inside the car, Xiao Yue curled up defensively, clutching herself tightly, her face full of terror and confusion.
"Just now, when Lin Qian fell, you pushed her, didn’t you?" Ji Wei looked at her, her gaze calm as she asked.
Xiao Yue raised her frightened eyes to Ji Wei, her lips trembling, but no words managed to escape her mouth.
"Don’t be scared." Ji Wei reached out and patted her shoulder in a gesture of comfort. "I won’t tell anyone about this."
In truth, Lin Qian had been hiding behind the balcony’s foliage, watching as Sister Mu reprimanded Ji Wei and her group.
Seeing that the two hadn’t fallen off, Lin Qian decided to take matters into her own hands. She quietly approached, ready to shove Xia Duoduo with all her strength.
But unexpectedly, Xiao Yue acted first, forcefully pushing Lin Qian toward the precarious railing...
With tears welling up in her eyes, Xiao Yue looked at Ji Wei. After hesitating for a long moment, she finally spoke haltingly through trembling lips: "Sister Lin seemed to have discovered that I was tipping you off... She threatened me, saying she wouldn’t pay me for the past few months and planned to fire me. She even said she’d make sure no other artists hire me... My father is sick and needs a lot of money. I can’t afford to lose my job..."
"I... I don’t even know how it happened... I just... I just reached out and pushed her..."
By this point, Xiao Yue was sobbing uncontrollably.
Ji Wei finally understood what had happened.
Lin Qian was cruel and treated her assistants like they were nothing. Her demise was nothing but a consequence of her own actions.
"Xiao Yue, I want you to completely forget about what happened today," Ji Wei said to her calmly. "Lin Qian rushed forward on her own and accidentally fell off the building. It has nothing to do with you."
"Is that really okay?" Xiao Yue asked nervously. "What if there’s surveillance footage at the scene? Or someone saw me push her..."
"There’s no way there’s surveillance at the scene," Ji Wei said with certainty. "Lin Qian wanted to frame Duoduo; she wouldn’t leave any evidence behind. As for whether anyone saw anything—"
She paused, her brows furrowing slightly as a cold glint filled her eyes. "Even if someone did see it, they wouldn’t dare say a word. You know who I am. You should trust in my capabilities."
Ji Wei’s words seemed to calm Xiao Yue significantly.
She nodded vigorously. "Okay... okay... I’ll listen to you. I won’t say anything."
On the way back to the hotel, Ji Wei formulated an explanation for Xiao Yue, knowing the police would inevitably investigate the details of the accident.
