"I will leave most of the corpses to others," Shen Liqian said.

On cue, his vassals took out their haul from their storage rings, bringing yet another shock to the clan as countless beasts, including those not seen in a while, appeared at the foot of the mountain-sized carcass.

Shen Liqian also emptied his storage ring, adding another small mound.

He was all smiles, enjoying the shocked reactions from his clan.

"That’s just..."

"I’m as speechless as you are!"

"Chief Liqian is our gift from heaven!"

The courtyard went quiet.

Conversations like that ensued.

The elders responsible for the Hunter Pavilion nodded after shaking off their awe and began directing people to drag the carcasses to their warehouse.

Shen Lijian was also part of the Hunter Pavilion’s operations, but he was given time off to spend with his son.

He and Shen Lexi stood still, waiting for their turn.

Shen Liqian approached them.

Beside him, the Snow Blue-eyed Tigress walked with her cubs.

Shen Liqian smiled.

"Father, Mother, I have returned."

Shen Lexi was the first to jump into her son’s arms and embrace him tightly.

Shen Lijian was all smiles, his eyes hovering on them and then switching from them to the beasts beside them.

He had an inkling of what his son would say.

He clenched his hands, his heart swelling with pride.

Pride tightened his chest.

Shen Liqian reciprocated his mother’s hug, then let her go.

The tightness in his own chest eased.

He looked at them and extended his hand to stroke the beast mother’s fur.

"Those three will become a part of our household... and I want you two to take care of them.

"Those cubs... will need a strong and capable man like you, Father, to grow into our best friends and pave the way for beast-taming in our clan.

"And their mother could also learn a thing or two from my mom.

"Just like we can learn a thing or two from them."

On that terrible day, Shen Lijian returned from the hunt with a broken Dantian.

He confessed to his wife that he wanted a cub for his son to grow up with.

In those dire times, when his son was crippled, he believed it would be the best path for him.

Alas, he failed.

And now, Shen Liqian did what his father had wanted to do and even went a step further, bringing the cubs’ mother with him.

Shen Lijian’s heart thumped so hard he felt like it could break his bones.

Shen Lexi was already crying as the dots connected.

Both were too proud of their son, and it wasn’t because of the matriarch’s corpse behind him, but because of the two adorable cubs and their beautiful mother.

"I will forever say it... but you are our best gift, Qian’er," Shen Lijian could only mutter, as saying more would make him choke on his emotions.

Shen Liqian smiled.

He was also overwhelmed and couldn’t say much other than just be happy.

"We need names for the three of them.

"I will name the mother!" 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Shen Liqian squatted down, meeting the Snow Blue-eyed Tigress’s gaze at eye level.

She looked at him.

"Hmm... Yuki?" he thought aloud.

That name meant snow in a language from Earth, or so he believed, and it matched her beautiful white fur.

Hearing that name, the Snow Blue-eyed Tigress nodded.

She liked it.

The name felt right the moment he spoke it.

"Haha! I nailed it on the first try," Shen Liqian chuckled.

Shen Lexi clapped her hands.

"Xue’er and Lan’er!"

Shen Lijian nodded.

He liked these names for the cubs, and it wasn’t like he could say no now that his wife had gone ahead and named them.

In fact, the name he had in mind wouldn’t really sound great, so he swallowed his idea.

The twins’ mother nodded.

Shen Lexi was all smiles at this interaction.

She asked her son, "Did my pills help you?"

"Of course.

"I saved Yuki’s life thanks to them, and we replenished our Qi much faster in battles.

"We had many of them, you know?

"You were a lifesaver, Mom!" Shen Liqian said.

Shen Lexi giggled like a maiden.

"Really?

"I will make more, then!

"I know!

"Come with me to the kitchen, Yuki!

"Let’s see what kind of food you like and what we should feed the little ones!"

For a heartbeat, the Clan Chief was only her son.

Motherly instincts kicked in; Shen Lexi was eager to prepare food and resources.

Hearing her, Yuki walked closer and licked her hand.

Shen Lexi yelped and took it back, then leaned forward again.

"Ah, sorry... that startled me.

"But... you are so beautiful now that I see you up close!

"And soft!"

Everyone laughed at their interaction.

Soon enough, Shen Lexi alone took Yuki and her cubs to the Clan Chief Manor.

Shen Liqian was left with his vassals and his father.

He turned to Shen Yiren and Shen Jixian first.

"You’re free.

"Spend a lot of time with your families and think of the festival."

"Sure.

"The festival sounds fun," Shen Yiren replied.

"I will make sure Keke wins a lot!" Shen Jixian replied.

Both left their lord and his father after paying respects.

Taking another glance at the matriarch’s corpse, Shen Lijian whistled.

"How did you even pull that off?"

"I used all my hydras for it," Shen Liqian chuckled.

"Did you meet any other beasts on your way back?"

"A few, but not many.

"I suspect a lot of them will try to snatch our haul soon, so we might have our first beast flood in a long time."

Resolve settled over him.

Shen Lijian nodded.

Beasts sometimes probed their lands and killed a few of their clan members.

But now, there was no need for that.

It was clear that Shen Clan had many goods now, and the beasts could use them.

Just that mountain-sized corpse of the matriarch was enough to start a beast flood.

The entire clan needed to brace itself for the worst.

"I will station myself on the borders," Shen Liqian said.

Or perhaps there was no need to brace for the worst, but for a show.
