Chapter 262: 262- Feng Family [2]

Fang Mei dug her heels into the dirt, panic flashing across her face, but her tongue stayed sharp.

"Senior!" she shouted, filled with mockery, "do you not have any pride? A bunch of Nascent Soul relics ganging up on a mere Golden Core? If word spreads about this, the world will laugh harder than I ever could!"

The elder’s face flushed with fury, his palm swelling with Qi to strike harder.

Feng Lishen, however, only laughed deeper, his golden eyes gleaming as though the little girl’s struggle was the finest entertainment he’d had in years.

A chorus of enraged voices erupted from the elders.

"Dragonic Hand! Descend!"

From their outstretched palms, a surge of purple Qi roared to life, twisting and coiling in the air forming a magnificent dragon.

Fang Mei’s lips curved into a faint, daring smirk.

She whispered under her breath,

"Golden Shell Armor: First Form—Cowardice."

In an instant, a shimmering golden shell erupted around her body, gleaming like molten sunlight.

The dragons lunged, their winged forms beating the air with a deafening roar before striking the barrier in unison.

Purple claws slammed against her golden shell, and for a heartbeat, Fang Mei held firm, gritting her teeth as the force pressed against her like a mountain.

But even she could feel the barrier faltering; her arms trembled under the relentless onslaught.

The impact detonated like thunder, a shockwave that rattled the hall and sent shards of stone skittering across the floor.

The golden shell shattered in a blinding flash. Fang Mei’s body flew backward, slamming into the corner walls with a bone-jarring crack. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

She coughed violently, blood flecking her lips, her vision swimming.

She couldn’t get up, her every limbs refused to obey.

After all.... The attack just now had been the full, unrelenting power of a group of Nascent Soul Realm masters.

The fact that she was still alive, barely clinging to consciousness, felt like a miracle.. even to her.

Spitting blood onto the floor, she forced a grin, defiance burning in her eyes.

"Golden Shell Armor... Third Form. Audacity."

Instantly the shockwave rebounded, every strike that had crashed into her armor snapped back like lightning, striking the elders with ruthless precision.

Three of them were sent tumbling from the sky, their screams swallowed by the hall’s roaring echoes.

Even in her battered state, Fang Mei’s smirk radiated unshakable confidence.

The elders were stunned, bewildered.

Never in their long lives had they imagined a mere Golden Core cultivator could retaliate with such ferocity.

Their eyes darted from Fang Mei to the chaos around them, uncertainty and fear flashing across their faces.

Feng Lishen laughed, low and sharp, excitement flickering in his golden eyes.

"So this... is how strong a cornered rat can be," he said, voice tinged with amusement. "Hahaha! But I suppose... that’s all you’ve got?"

Fang Mei spat onto the ground, blood flecking her lips but her defiance unbroken.

"My master won’t let me die... so brace yourselves!"

Feng Lishen’s smirk widened.

"I want to see your master try and stop... me?"

He lifted his gaze to the sky, and a sudden chill swept the hall.

Darkness fell in an instant. The entire area was engulfed in an immense formation, its power pressing down like a suffocating weight.

"What... what’s going on?"

An elder, barely rising from the ground after Fang Mei’s counterattack, muttered weakly, fear in his voice,

"We... we are surrounded by a barrier, Clan Head..."

Feng Lishen waved a hand lazily, his golden eyes glinting with irritation.

"I know that. Do you think I’m blind?"

Without a second thought, the elder’s head lolled to the ground from his body, severed by a mere gesture.

Feng Lishen didn’t even glance at it.

In the blink of an eye, Fang Yuan appeared beside Fang Mei, his presence calm yet absolute.

Before anyone could react, he scooped her into his arms with ease.

"You performed splendidly," he said, his voice gentle yet filled with authority. "Now, let me clean up this mess. Take a good rest."

Fang Mei allowed herself a small, genuine smile.

She closed her eyes, leaning against him, daring to drift into sleep even as she remained in enemy territory.

The warmth of his presence was a rare comfort amid the chaos.

Feng Lishen’s eyes flared with fury, golden light crackling around him as he realised the duo never took his clan seriously.

He didn’t hesitate as he lifted the ancient bell and rang it, its deep, resonant chime cut through the hall like a scream of judgment.

Fang Yuan’s expression darkened.

Instantly assessing the danger, he transported Fang Mei into the void, placing her safely onto the flying boat.

With a swift movement, he evaded the bell’s deadly resonance, his figure dissolving from the hall in a shadowy blur.

Fang Yuan lifted his hand, and his sword hovered by his side, gleaming with killing intent.

Feng Lishen’s eyes narrowed as he raised the bell once more, his grip tight, ready to strike.

Fang Yuan’s gaze remained steady, unflinching, as he readied himself, the air between the two of them charged with deadly anticipation.

Feng Lishen’s lips curled into a cruel smirk, golden eyes glinting with confidence.

"I heard you bested that witch, Xiao Bai," he said, voice sharp and taunting. "So I only need to defeat you... and then I’ll be the strongest in the entire Tharz Kingdom."

Fang Yuan’s hand closed around the hilt of the sword.

With a fluid motion, he drew it to his side, the blade gleaming in the dim light, and brought it up above his head.

Then, with a controlled force, he slashed downward as he muttered repeatedly in haste,

"Divine Line! Divine Line! Divine Line! Divine Line! Divine Line!"

The attack exploded from the tip of his blade like cascading streaks of light, each strike searing the air with unrelenting precision.

Feng Lishen’s smirk faltered for the briefest moment, caught off guard by the speed and force of the assault but his reflexes were flawless.
