Claimed by My Ex's Half-Brother-Chapter 51 Lawrence Sterling
Damian’s POV:
I arrived home just after nine, my senses immediately alert to an unwelcome presence. The familiar scent of Northbrook Pack’s Alpha hit me before I even turned the corner to my house entrance. My wolf Arthur growled deep within me, hackles raised at the territorial intrusion.
Lawrence Sterling—my biological father—stood there as if he owned the place, his dominance pheromones attempting to permeate my territory. A meaningless gesture. I hadn’t submitted to his Alpha status in years.
"What are you doing here?" I asked coldly, my voice carrying the quiet authority I’d earned by building Blood Moon Pack from nothing. "You’re not welcome. Leave on your own, or I’ll have security throw you out."
His scent spiked with anger, the bitter taste of indignation filling the hallway.
"I’m your father!" he roared, his Alpha voice trying to trigger my submission. That might have worked years ago, but not anymore.
"What kind of son ignores his father’s calls? Show some respect!"
Arthur remained unmoved within me. We’d long built immunity to Lawrence’s influence.
"My father? Do we know each other?" I moved past him to unlock my door, deliberately turning my back—the ultimate insult in wolf hierarchy. "Get out of my way."
I entered my home without inviting him in, another calculated slight in wolf culture. When I tried to close the door, he forced his way inside—a territorial violation that made Arthur snarl.
"Damian!" he shouted, trying to reassert paternal authority.
"I’m still your father! I know you’re angry, but that’s no excuse for abusing your brother!"
The mention of Ethan made my lips curl. "So he went crying to daddy, did he? Interesting how you see me as the aggressor when your precious son is the one pursuing another wolf’s mate. He has a wife now, doesn’t he? Yet there he is harassing other women. Did you teach him those infidelity skills, or did he learn them on his own?"
"Damian!" Lawrence’s face reddened, his scent shifting to something sharper as his blood pressure spiked. The veins in his neck bulged as his wolf pushed toward the surface.
I felt my canines lengthen slightly in response. "Did I hit a nerve? Is that pattern too familiar? You know exactly how my mother died. You know what happened to your second wife. All those miscarriages—are you really clueless about their cause, or just in denial?"
"Silence!" he roared, his partial Alpha voice making the windows vibrate. "How dare you bring that up? You poisoned her! Your own stepmother! The cubs she carried were your siblings! I never questioned you about it, but don’t push me too far!"
Arthur howled with fury within me, clawing to emerge and challenge this false accusation.
"I poisoned her?" I laughed without humor, my eyes beginning to glow with my wolf’s golden light. "Let me guess—Ethan’s mother told you that convenient story?"
"She’s your mother now too!"
"My mother died years ago," I growled, feeling my bones shift slightly as Arthur pushed toward the surface. "That woman doesn’t deserve to claim that title. She might be your precious darling, but to everyone else, she’s nothing. Those unborn children had nothing to do with me. Don’t throw your accusations at me—I have no blood on my hands."
I had no illusions about Lawrence. He would never believe me over his mate and her son. After my mother’s death—his true mate—he quickly found comfort in another woman’s arms. Her multiple miscarriages were blamed on "accidents," and Lawrence always believed I was responsible.
The truth was I never touched her or harmed those unborn cubs. That wasn’t me. I had no interest in Sterling Company assets; I built ME Group from nothing. But those miscarriages and her eventual death almost certainly involved Ethan and his mother. That woman had patiently waited years until my mother was gone, and I suspected she hadn’t obtained her position through innocent means. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"What are you implying?" Lawrence roared. "Your mind is always so twisted. You think the whole world owes you! We’re family—we should love each other!"
The word "family" made both me and Arthur want to vomit. "Family?" I scoffed. "Love each other? Are you delusional? Now get out, or I’ll have you thrown out."
Even for the man who brought me into existence, I couldn’t muster an ounce of respect. He called himself my father but never acted like one. Seeing him claim paternal authority made my stomach turn.
"Damian!" Lawrence’s anger exploded. He grabbed a crystal wine glass from my side table and smashed it on the floor, his wolf clearly taking over his actions.
He went berserk, destroying everything within reach—an antique vase that had survived centuries, chairs, tables—anything he could grab. The sounds of shattering glass and splintering wood filled my home as he violated my territory in the most primal way.
When he smashed another crystal bottle, shards exploded outward. One piece sliced across my chin, drawing blood. The scent of my own blood filled the air, triggering something primitive in both of us.
I felt the change coming, unable to stop it now. My bones began to crack and reform as Arthur surged forward. My father was already halfway shifted, his clothes tearing as his body contorted.
"You want to challenge me, whelp?" he snarled through lengthening canines, his voice distorting between human and wolf. "I’m still your Alpha!"
I completed the shift first, my silver-black wolf form larger than most, muscles rippling beneath the fur. Arthur stood proud, no longer willing to submit to this man who had abandoned us both.
*You stopped being my Alpha the day you chose her over your own bloodline,* I projected, my wolf’s thoughts clear even without human language.
Lawrence completed his transformation, his dark brown wolf snarling at me in my own home. He lunged first, jaws snapping toward my throat—the killing move of an Alpha asserting dominance.
I sidestepped with speed he couldn’t match, my younger, stronger wolf body easily avoiding his attack. I was no longer the frightened cub he’d driven away years ago. As Alpha of Blood Moon Pack, I’d faced challengers far more powerful than this old wolf who relied on his title rather than earning respect.
As his teeth snapped at the air where I’d been standing, I counterattacked with lightning speed, catching his shoulder and drawing first blood. The metallic scent filled the room as Lawrence howled in pain and surprise.
*You’re on my territory now,* Arthur projected through me. *You’re not welcome here.*
As we circled each other, furniture splintering under our massive paws, I knew this confrontation had been inevitable since the day he chose Ethan’s mother over his obligation to his firstborn son. The bond between us had never been love—only duty and resentment.
