Claimed by My Ex's Half-Brother-Chapter 30 Too bad
Victoria’s POV:
I stood there, not backing down an inch, watching Scarlett kneel before me in her pathetic performance.
More and more people were gathering around us, their phones capturing everything.
This wasn’t a sinc sincere apology—this was a trap.
"Let me make one thing very clear," I said, my voice steady despite my inner wolf Nora pacing angrily. "I never asked you to kneel. Not once. And those ridiculous accusations you’ve been spreading? That’s slander, which is illegal, by the way. Do you really think everyone is stupid enough to see through your terrible acting?"
Without hesitation, I walked over to one of Mr. Sutton’s associates and pulled a small camera from his black jacket.
"Recording without consent is also against werewolf law," I said, holding up the tiny device. "Such a small camera—if you’re so committed to this performance, why not bring a full film crew?"
Scarlett and her entourage froze, their faces turning pale.
Mr. Sutton’s expression grew serious—clearly, he hadn’t expected me to expose their live streaming plan.
I could now smell his anxiety, the sour scent of panic cutting through his expensive cologne.
His plan was simple: have Scarlett apologize publicly, make herself look vulnerable, then paint me as the cruel, unforgiving villain when I inevitably rejected her apology. The perfect way to rehabilitate his daughter’s image and their company’s plummeting stock price.
Too bad.
I was a she-wolf destined to be Alpha, and I wasn’t stupid.
"We weren’t recording anything," Scarlett stammered, her voice trembling.
I stared at her father. "Really? Mr. Sutton, would you swear by the Moon Goddess’s name?"
"If you’re lying, you’ll lose your beta position and become a rogue wolf."
Mr. Sutton’s face darkened.
Obviously, he didn’t dare make that oath.
"Scarlett is your legal heir, isn’t she?" I continued, feeling my power grow with each word. "She falsely accuses others, makes mistakes then manipulates victims, and shamelessly blames everyone except herself. Is this the behavior you taught her, Mr. Sutton?"
I stepped forward, continuing: "Will the Northstream Pack allow their beta to be so shameless?"
The silence that followed was delicious. Mr. Sutton couldn’t respond.
Werewolves like him were used to intimidating young people, especially young she-wolves.
Even Ethan used to be unable to maintain eye contact with him.
But I dared.
I stared at him unflinchingly, defending my rights.
"Miss Lancaster," Mr. Sutton finally managed to say, "there’s no need to be so aggressive."
I laughed, the sound clear and sharp. "Now I’m being aggressive? Be careful with your accusations, Mr. Sutton. How exactly am I attacking you? Since Ethan got married, I’ve repeatedly stated I want nothing to do with him. I’ve said multiple times that your daughter can keep her trash husband. It’s your daughter who’s made me her imaginary enemy, believing her cheating husband is a prize everyone wants." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
I gestured around us. "Who sought out whom today? You came to me. Yes, I reported it when your daughter attacked me, but didn’t your family connections get her released without consequences? Are werewolf laws so fragile?"
Mr. Sutton’s expression grew even darker. Meanwhile, I could see people around us checking their phones, watching the live stream that was now completely backfiring on the Sutton family.
From those people’s expressions,
I could guess that public opinion was currently in my favor.
Mr. Sutton had orchestrated this to repair Scarlett’s image and boost their company’s stock, but my wolf instincts had immediately sensed the trap.
Now their stock would probably plummet further.
"Victoria!" Scarlett stumbled to her feet, her designer clothes covered in dust. "Don’t go too far! I knelt for you!"
My wolf Nora snarled within me, wanting to tear apart this pathetic she-wolf who lacked any strength worthy of our time.
"Get out of my way. I won’t waste words on fools," I said coldly, though despite my efforts to control it, my true Alpha nature leaked through.
I turned my attention back to Mr. Sutton. "How exactly did you know where to find me? Have you been stalking me? Think carefully before answering—stalking is also illegal, and this live stream is still going."
Mr. Sutton had no choice but to admit: "Ethan told us. He’d seen you here recently, mentioned you’d applied to Lancaster Industries. We came to try our luck at finding you."
Of course. Ethan Sterling—always the source of my problems.
"Let me make this absolutely clear to both of you," I said, addressing the father-daughter duo. "I have no relationship with either the Sutton or Sterling families. Your marital problems are your own. If Scarlett feels Ethan doesn’t love her enough, that’s between them. She should resolve it with her mate, not me. If she can’t hold his interest, he’ll just find another woman—eliminate me, and there will be thousands of others. A cheating mate will cheat again."
I could see Scarlett angrily biting her lip until it bled.
"I do not accept your apology," I finally said.
With that, I left the entrance of Lancaster Industries, called a taxi, and headed to my new home building. It wasn’t until I reached the entrance that I realized why it looked familiar—this was the same upscale building where Damian Sterling lived.
If I had known earlier, I could have brought his clothes to return them.
Following the address Kane had sent me, I entered my house.
A spacious three-story villa—more than enough for one person.
The interior design was completely to my taste: clean lines, neutral colors, and minimalist furniture creating a sense of calm elegance.
After taking a shower, I settled onto the plush sofa with my laptop.
Work wouldn’t complete itself, and Lancaster Enterprises needed my attention now more than ever.
As I began reviewing quarterly reports, I was completely unaware that clips of my confrontation with Scarlett had already gone viral.
The internet was flooded with videos of me verbally destroying Scarlett.
Apparently, I had gained quite a following—people who appreciated my sharp wit and how I cut through Scarlett’s facade without lifting a finger.
