Claimed by My Ex's Half-Brother-Chapter 205 Enough!
Author’s POV
The Northstream Pack was in disarray. Ethan Sterling’s life had become a living hell since losing his child. He behaved like a man possessed, his wolf spirit Leon howling in constant agony beneath his skin.
When he was in better moods, he would hold Mona close, calling her "Victoria" repeatedly in a haunting litany. During darker moments, his hands would find her throat, squeezing as he hurled vicious insults at her—a poor substitute for the mate he couldn’t have.
The loss of the baby had turned Marcia Cross even more venomous toward Mona. During dinner that evening, her cutting remarks sliced through the tense atmosphere.
"You couldn’t even manage to keep one simple pregnancy," Marcia hissed, her wolf eyes briefly flashing gold with contempt. "What kind of female fails at the most basic duty?"
Mona bit her lower lip, the picture of wounded innocence, continuously apologizing in a small voice. Her submissive posture was calculated—head slightly bowed, shoulders curved inward—the perfect omega display.
Lawrence Sterling couldn’t stand it anymore. His alpha instincts, even dulled by years of poor leadership, finally sparked to life. He slammed his fist on the table, making the silverware jump.
"Enough!" The alpha command in his voice made everyone’s wolves stir uncomfortably. "The child’s loss wasn’t what Mona wanted. What purpose does your cruelty serve?" His eyes narrowed at Marcia. "She’s suffered enough."
Marcia’s mouth snapped shut in surprise. Lawrence rarely contradicted her, especially in defense of someone else. Her inner wolf retreated slightly, recognizing the unexpected show of dominance.
The remainder of the meal passed in strained silence. Later, Marcia cornered Ethan in the hallway, her voice a poisonous whisper.
"Did you see how your father defended that woman? After everything we’ve done for this pack?" Her perfectly manicured nails dug into his arm. "That little snake is working her way into his good graces."
While Lawrence visited the bathroom upstairs, Mona silently slipped inside, closing the door behind her.
"Thank you for defending me, Alpha," she murmured, her scent intentionally sweetened with submissive pheromones that would appeal to his dominant nature.
"Get out," Lawrence ordered coldly, his back turned to her.
Instead of leaving, Mona moved closer, pressing her body against his back. She reached up on tiptoes and placed a soft kiss on his lips.
"This is my reward for your kindness," she whispered. Her voice dropped to a husky tone as she continued, "I don’t know if it’s because of the baby, but my breasts have been aching terribly." Without warning, she lifted her blouse.
Lawrence’s reaction was immediate, his body responding against his better judgment. The mating bond with his wife had weakened years ago, leaving him vulnerable to Mona’s calculated advances. His wolf stirred with interest, responding to the fertile omega scent she was deliberately releasing. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Mona’s gaze dropped to the evidence of his arousal. "Let me help you, Alpha," she offered, reaching for him without hesitation.
Meanwhile, Ethan searched everywhere for Mona, noticing his father’s absence as well. After what seemed like an eternity, Mona reappeared, her cheeks flushed pink, pupils dilated.
"Where were you?" Ethan demanded, his frustration evident.
"Just the bathroom," she replied casually. "Is something wrong?"
The bathroom door had indeed been locked when he’d checked. Ethan dismissed his suspicions temporarily.
When he stepped out of their bedroom later, he found Lawrence in the hallway. Something felt off about both of them disappearing and reappearing simultaneously.
Ethan wasn’t naturally suspicious, but he couldn’t ignore how his father seemed unusually attentive toward Mona lately. The way Lawrence watched her when he thought no one was looking carried an intensity that made Ethan uncomfortable.
Still, he dismissed the thought. His father was discriminating in his tastes—surely Mona wouldn’t interest him. Ethan couldn’t imagine that his wife and father had already crossed lines that could never be uncrossed.
The loss of the child had made Ethan increasingly volatile. His wolf Leon was restless, agitated by his human counterpart’s impotence. After consulting countless specialists who confirmed his condition was permanent, Ethan refused to accept reality.
He pushed Mona to stimulate him in every way possible. When her efforts failed to provoke any response, his frustration exploded. His palm connected with her cheek in a sharp crack.
"Worthless bitch!" he snarled, his wolf’s anger bleeding through. "You’re completely useless!"
If Mona couldn’t help him, he’d find someone who could. He stormed out, desperate to prove the doctors wrong.
Alone downstairs, Mona sniffled quietly, manufactured tears tracking down her cheeks when Lawrence returned home.
"Did Ethan do this?" Lawrence asked, noticing the angry red handprint on her face. His eyes softened with concern.
Mona just cried harder, saying nothing. Lawrence approached and wrapped his arms around her. As she leaned into his chest, a victorious smile played across her lips where he couldn’t see it.
Their affair continued right under Ethan and Marcia’s noses. That evening, Mona brought out a bottle of expensive whiskey, pouring generous glasses for herself and Lawrence as they sat in his private study.
"You’re so much kinder than him," she murmured, allowing her fingers to brush against Lawrence’s when he took the glass. "I know Ethan is young and impulsive. I try to be patient with him."
She continued drinking heavily, glass after glass, until she appeared thoroughly intoxicated. Leaning against Lawrence, she wrapped her arms around his neck, her inhibitions seemingly dissolved by alcohol.
Lawrence carried the supposedly drunk Mona back to her bedroom—the one she shared with his son. When she clung to him, refusing to let go, he found his resistance crumbling. Her skilled hands and knowing touches broke his willpower.
Their bond ignited with primal intensity as their wolves recognized something forbidden but irresistible. Lawrence’s cedar scent mingled with Mona’s manipulative sweetness as they came together on Ethan’s bed—the ultimate betrayal of pack and family.
Their wolves emerged partially, adding supernatural strength and stamina to their union. Lawrence pinned Mona beneath him, his hands gripping her wrists above her head in a dominant display. Her eyes flashed their wolf gold as she arched against him, urging him deeper.
"You’re mine now," he growled possessively, his wolf pushing dangerously close to the surface. His teeth grazed the sensitive spot where her neck met her shoulder—not quite a mating bite, but a dangerous imitation.
Mona responded eagerly, wrapping her legs around him. "Yes, Alpha," she panted. "I’ve always been yours."
They moved together in the shadows of the bedroom, the scent of their betrayal filling the air. Neither noticed the partially open door, nor the shocked eyes that witnessed their ultimate betrayal of pack bonds and family loyalty.
