Chapter 217: Chapter 217: Let’s Get a Big Photo

In the afternoon, Ruby Sullivan went to the coffee shop Ian mentioned. Of course, Faye Truman didn’t go with her. Perhaps because she just chatted about it with an old friend, when Ruby Sullivan went out, she felt an inexplicable guilt, almost exposing her previous timid and cowering state completely.

Since separating from Ethan Sterling for the second time, the spikes that added to her had disappeared bit by bit. With no hatred left in her heart, she also had more expectations for life.

From afar, she saw Ian sitting on a rattan chair in the open air. Suddenly, Ruby felt a strange tension. She took a deep breath and walked over in big strides.

Ian waved at her and stood up with a smile, "I was worried you might stand me up." He pulled out a chair for her, making a joke.

"Thank you." Ruby sat down, responding to his joke, "I am a very trustworthy person."

Then, the two chatted while drinking coffee. Ian talked about his favorite animation master, while Ruby spoke about the spices she was most familiar with.

"I think you could try starting an aroma therapy room. I saw such a teacher on Twitter before, where the teacher teaches students to blend everyday essential oils, candles, handmade soaps. It looks quite interesting."

Ruby seemed to see a new world, "Perhaps that’s a really good suggestion!"

In the evening, she organized the photos taken at Wonderland and sent them to Ethan Sterling. Not knowing if he was busy, she mentioned Cindy in the email, thinking that the relationship between Cindy and Don should improve some, she called Sasha Shaw.

The video connected quickly, Sasha wearing big glasses, seemingly working.

"Darling, were you thinking about me so much that you couldn’t sleep?" Sasha glanced at the time in Novaniel, teasing with raised eyebrows.

Seeing her lively appearance, Ruby’s mood lifted, "Thinking of you is my routine, no need to ask." She winked at her and laughed, "Let’s get serious, I actually have something important today."

She talked to Sasha about Cindy, hoping she could pass it on to Leon Sterling.

Unexpectedly, after listening, Sasha showed a troubled expression, "Ruby, I can’t help you with this."

Ruby was puzzled.

Sasha smiled bitterly and continued, "First, Leon Sterling should be in Novaniel now, second, we broke up. It’s not appropriate for me to talk to him about this." Her tone was full of self-deprecation, making one feel a bit sorrowful.

Ruby froze in front of the camera, wanting to hug Sasha right then, momentarily at a loss for words.

"Do you want to know why?" Sasha blinked playfully, bringing up the topic herself.

"If you want to say, then I want to know. If you don’t want to say, then I don’t want to know."

Sasha chuckled, "Darling, be honest with me. Didn’t you know Leon Sterling likes you?"

Ruby was stunned, and after a long silence, admitted, "I knew."

Sasha flattened her lips, hearing her friend speak so directly, it didn’t seem to hurt much, "As his ex, let me speak fairly, he really is a nice man, though his identity is a bit awkward for you. But in this day and age, you truly should consider it well. I thought... he would come find you after going to Meridia, maybe he has concerns too."

"It’s impossible between me and him..." Ruby was a bit out of sorts hearing her friend say this.

"Hey, stop stop stop, what’s with your expression? Our feelings over so many years won’t be affected because of a man, besides, I know your character. The reason I broke up with him is just that he doesn’t love me enough, everything else is just an excuse."

"Are you okay?" Ruby looked at her carefree appearance, only feeling distressed.

Sasha is just this kind of person, always hiding everything inside, leaving friends with an always unbothered big sister persona.

Hearing her ask this, the smile froze on Sasha’s face, she nudged her lips, "Not too well. So recently, I’ve been working hard, aiming for a show in Novaniel next year, and inviting you as a special guest."

"Alright then... keep working hard, contact me anytime if anything comes up." Ruby reluctantly hung up the video, thinking of Sasha’s lonely expression, her heart still felt heavy.

She understood the reasoning behind it, knew Sasha hadn’t a hint of complaint towards her, but the more it was like this, the more uneasy she felt, as if she had disrupted their relationship, yet she knew clearly, she could do nothing, even it’s best to do nothing.

She sighed, suddenly feeling her decision to live in Meridia somewhat inexplicable.

Ruby stared blankly for a while, opened the computer, and researched materials on aroma therapy rooms. When she was in Bellaza, she had already obtained an international aromatherapist certificate, if one were to actually set up such a community classroom, then qualifications wouldn’t be a worry.

Before sleeping, she received a call from Ethan Sterling, maybe his meal time coincided with seeing her email.

"Did you sleep?"

"Mm, about to sleep." Ruby found Ethan’s small talk rather unappealing, if he knew she was sleeping, he shouldn’t disturb her by calling now.

"Sorry, just saw the email, I’ll chat with Vivian about Cindy’s matter. Mm, how are the kids?"

"Everything’s normal, they weren’t awake in the morning, didn’t need coaxing to sleep early tonight."

"Then you should rest early too."

"Okay." Ruby thought about it, then added, "Take care of yourself too."

"Mm." Ethan responded lightly, hanging up the phone, unconsciously curving his lips.

He put down the phone, looked at the photos on the computer screen, picked out his favorite one and sent it to his assistant, "Print out this photo, I want to put it in the office."

It was a family photo, Honey wearing a sky-blue tulle dress, with a princess diamond crown, smiling sweetly. Seth Sterling dressed as Batman, though almost unrecognizable, the pose was quite distinctive. The most eye-catching were Ethan Sterling and Ruby Sullivan, both wearing cat ear hair bands, laughing heartily at the camera making heart signs.

Ethan Sterling wearing cat ears, making heart signs at the camera!

The young assistant stared at the photo, mouth agape for half a minute before coming to her senses and quickly copying the photo to a USB.

Ethan Sterling closed the computer, got up to go out, instructed the girl outside, "I won’t be back this afternoon. I want the photo by tomorrow, make it... this big." Ethan outlined with his hands in front of him.

The girl was a bit dumbfounded, "Mr. Sterling, is the photo going to be hung up?"

"No, just put it on the desk." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"You’ve measured... bigger than a screen size."

Ethan was taken aback, "Is it? Then you can handle it accordingly." He walked a few steps, then turned back, worriedly advised, "Don’t make it too small."

"Yes." The girl watched his back, internally lamenting, with such a good husband, Mrs. Sterling must have saved the galaxy in a past life, right?
