Leon Sterling seemed startled and subconsciously shrank back.

Sasha Shaw froze, "Do you mind?"

"I’m tired, let’s sleep." After saying that, he hugged her and turned to leave the room.

During his days at Sasha Shaw’s house, he always slept on the sofa. Even after their relationship became official, he never considered moving off it.

Sasha Shaw sat on the bed in disappointment, feeling as if a knife had been ruthlessly thrust into her heart. After sitting in a daze for a while, she decided to speak her mind.

Brooding over things is not in her nature, and Ruby Sullivan was right in saying she was a good person. Even if she had made mistakes, what’s wrong with that? If given a choice, she wouldn’t have done it either. Who doesn’t wish to be born with a silver spoon, but not everyone has that fate!

Leon Sterling was already lying on the sofa when suddenly the living room lights came on.

Sasha Shaw rushed over and knelt on him, "Leon Sterling, if you’re disgusted by me, just say it. Pretending nothing’s wrong and playing the cold war with me, what’s that about?"

Leon Sterling was a bit flustered, innocently said, "I haven’t been giving you the cold shoulder."

"Then why did you reject me just now?" Sasha Shaw’s brow shot up, "Do you have a hidden ailment?"

"No!" Leon Sterling felt defeated by her, he suddenly sat up and kissed her forehead. "My mood’s just a bit off, did Ruby tell you about the wedding?"

Sasha Shaw shook her head.

They had been talking about her and Leon Sterling, from how they met to when she began to feel a bit touched, and then some school memories.

Sasha Shaw didn’t know anyone at the wedding, so she didn’t ask, and of course, Ruby didn’t mention it.

"Naomi Sinclair was hospitalized." Leon Sterling gave a brief account of the wedding, ending with what Ruby Sullivan told him, then sighed, "I don’t want to go; I feel it won’t help. But I wonder if it really was my absence that..."

Sasha Shaw hugged him, "What can you say to her when you go there? Will she wake up because of this, what can you offer her?"

"Though that makes sense..."

"Who can harden their heart to see someone die without saving them?" She also kissed his forehead, "Let’s visit first thing tomorrow, I’ll go with you."

"Alright." Leon Sterling hugged her tightly, feeling her warmth and comfort.

"So... are you willing to sleep on the bed now?"

Leon Sterling’s features immediately tensed, "Isn’t that... too fast?" 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"What are you thinking? I just feel it’s unfair for you to sleep on the sofa." Sasha Shaw said as she got off him, in the dim light, her blush was hard to see.

Just as dawn was breaking, an alarm suddenly went off in the ICU room, Aidan Sinclair got up from the camp bed and saw several doctors rushing past him, storming into Naomi Sinclair’s room.

An hour later, the rescue efforts failed, and the attending physician announced the time of death.

Dina Finn squatted against the wall, clutches her head in distress.

Aidan Sinclair grabbed the doctor’s collar, like a madman, "My sister can’t be dead, you’re lying!"

"Family, please calm down." The nurse advised nearby, but seeing him red-eyed and fierce, nobody dared to approach.

Aidan Sinclair’s assistant stepped forward to unclench his hand, "Mr. Sinclair Jr., please restrain your grief."

Aidan Sinclair snorted coldly, tears of rage streaming down, he turned and glared at Dina Finn, quickly walking over, and shouted, "Make that woman prepare herself, I will ensure she rots in prison, a fate worse than death!"

Dina Finn shivered all over, stood up trying to plead with Aidan Sinclair but was stopped by his assistant.

Ruby Sullivan hadn’t expected that besides the wedding, she also had to attend a funeral.

Naomi Sinclair’s funeral was beautifully arranged, with her lying among flowers like Snow White, surrounded by seven dwarfs’ statues, fulfilling the request in her will.

Knowing her fate, she had written a will annually, detailing the funeral arrangements, and specifically requested a latest model game console to be buried with her along with her favorite games.

Old Mr. Finn was so aggrieved that it triggered his heart condition, and he’s now in the hospital too.

Ruby Sullivan and Ethan Sterling finished the memorial and were leaving when they bumped into the arriving Azure Hollis.

She deliberately stepped in front of them, sneering, "You and your ex-boyfriend fake friend duo actually complement each other."

After snapping off her snide remarks, she turned to leave, only to be blocked by Ethan Sterling extending an arm.

"Anything you want?" She tilted her head at Ethan Sterling, looking unconcerned.

"Apologize."

"Me, apologize?" Azure Hollis sneered, "Mr. Sterling, don’t you know who I am?"

"So what if I know? If you don’t want trouble, apologize to my wife now." Ethan Sterling coldly eyed her, his indifferent voice enough to chill the bones.

Recalling Ruby Sullivan’s previous remarks, Azure Hollis suddenly felt her knees go weak. She held firm, stubbornly murmuring, "I’m sorry, alright?" After a few steps, she turned and yelled, "Ethan Sterling, just wait!"

Ruby Sullivan didn’t intend to fuss over such trivial matters, a jibe wouldn’t hurt. "Is her family really powerful?"

"Generally powerful, I’d say." Ethan Sterling remarked casually, clutching her hand.

"The Sterling Group is hardly in a position to make enemies everywhere now. Mr. Sterling, you’re being irrational."

To have one’s woman provoked repeatedly, a rational man would indeed be odd, Ethan Sterling faintly smiled, "All’s well."

He was determined to be irrational, thoroughly.

If he remembered correctly, Azure Hollis was about to marry that lunatic, Tyler Aldrin, just as he’d hoped.

The despicable gathered, then engulfed in a single sweep, saving time and effort.

Upon returning, Vivian hadn’t come back yet, and their third uncle was mourning a younger folk, Vivian a little worried about him.

When Ruby Sullivan left, Ethan Sterling saw her off personally, repeatedly advising the kids to behave, Honey suddenly felt sad at the airport, clinging to Ethan Sterling’s neck, shedding tears, "Daddy, must we separate?"

Ruby Sullivan wanted to take Honey but was refused by Ethan Sterling.

He laughed as he kissed his daughter’s little face, "After Daddy finishes work here, I’ll visit you in Meridia, okay?"

"Pinkie swear." Honey sniffled, her tears still falling, extending her chubby hand.

Ruby Sullivan watched them pinkie swear before taking her daughter, reminding him, "You promised a child, don’t break your word."

Ethan Sterling nodded, watched the mother and kids pass through security, disappearing from his sight.
