Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 150: The Three Sinclair Men
This lunch was extremely harmonious. Naomi Sinclair had stars in her eyes throughout and was thoroughly enjoying herself. The third Sinclair brother was initially very nervous, but seeing her and Vivian chatting and laughing, his tense expression gradually relaxed, and he couldn’t stop praising Ruby Sullivan’s cooking skills.
After the meal, they chatted for a while longer. The third brother didn’t want to disrupt Vivian’s nap, so he prepared to leave. Not wanting to leave with his daughter, he specifically mentioned he needed a nap himself, and encouraged the young ones to continue having fun.
Naomi Sinclair wasn’t about to let him go so easily. She immediately popped up from the sofa, linking her arm with his to leave together.
The third brother tensed up, "The driver is already on the way in and waiting outside, plus, we aren’t heading the same way."
Naomi Sinclair brushed it off, saying, "Tell the driver to take me home first. I haven’t seen Seven and Eight in a while, and I kind of miss them."
Seven, Eight, and Number Nine are the cat, the dog, and the cheeky parrot the third brother keeps.
After hugging Vivian, she waved goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Sterling and cheerfully left, arm in arm with the third brother.
Settled in the car, Naomi Sinclair’s smile turned a bit mischievous as she tilted her head and looked at the third brother, "Isn’t sneaking around and dating my big brother kind of thrilling?"
The third brother maintained a stern face, remaining silent. He knew talking would only make things more awkward.
Naomi Sinclair laughed, "I really like Vivian, so take your time pursuing her." She then shifted gears and hit the accelerator.
The third brother only raised an eyebrow slightly, still saying nothing.
Naomi was sent to The Sinclair Family when she was six, wearing clothes washed to the point of disrepair, with a face so dark it was hard to see her features, and a swollen bump on her forehead the size of a half-fist.
Her mother was a hostess at a karaoke bar and was stabbed in the stomach with a broken bottle during a brawl and slipped into a coma.
With no one to care for her, she was sent to an orphanage. Surprisingly, after several months, her mother suddenly regained consciousness, revealing she was the third Sinclair brother’s child before passing away minutes later.
The third brother didn’t initially want to acknowledge the child. Back then, he was still building his empire and was eager to marry the daughter of a wealthy family. However, the paternity test was irrefutable, and it was the police who brought Naomi to him, leaving him with no choice but to acknowledge her.
Later, the little girl fainted during a gym class at school and was issued a death certificate by doctors. Suddenly, he felt sympathy for her, thinking she didn’t have many years left, so he decided to treat her well out of humanitarian concern.
As he spent more time with her, he found being a father quite amusing. What surprised the third brother even more was that the girl, whom doctors diagnosed as not surviving past adulthood, was still alive and full of energy.
He knew Naomi’s health hadn’t improved. It was the ever-advancing medicine and new drugs keeping her alive longer, which made him even more fearful of this daughter, worried she might pass before he does.
Aidan Sinclair, on the other hand, was sent over when Naomi was ten.
The third brother loved one-night stands, and Aidan Sinclair was the evidence left behind from one such night. The mother was a journalist from a well-off family who never went home again after having him, but managed to provide well for Aidan, sending him back when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was dying.
Aidan was shrewd and naturally fond of Naomi, which didn’t mean he welcomed other illegitimate siblings popping up, nor would he allow anyone to intrude on his or Naomi’s inheritance.
Naomi required a lot of money to sustain her life, and Aidan genuinely wanted his sister to live longer. His thoughts were conventional, but Naomi found them reasonable.
The siblings joined forces and drove the third brother to distraction. He not only relinquished control of The Sinclair Group and almost all his shares early on but also restricted the freedom of the second brother.
That’s the third Sinclair brother and his two children. He never legally married but lived a rather debauched life.
Yet, the children were growing up, and being educated, they quickly started governing him with science-backed strategies, leaving him obedient. Still, the third brother was an old dog, who wouldn’t easily change his ways, maintaining his vivacious and easy-to-fall-for charms despite his age.
The days battling against fate and the children made life a bit nerve-racking for him but also kind of thrilling.
However, once caught, he’d admit defeat.
This time though, it stung a little, because Vivian seemed unlike the women he’d fallen for at first sight before, and on multiple occasions, he genuinely wanted to have a serious relationship.
Naomi found the old man’s silence amusing and cheerfully announced when they were almost home, "Half an hour ago, big brother said he was on his way back, and he should be home by now."
The third brother sighed heavily and muttered, "So what if he’s back? I’m not afraid of him."
Naomi laughed, "Sure, sure, you’re most afraid of your daughter, afraid she’d die of anger. Rest assured, I’m living so comfortably now there’s hardly anything that could upset me."
"I didn’t know before that Vivian is Ethan Sterling’s mom."
Naomi paused for a moment, then burst into laughter, "Oh, who was so gossipy to tell you that?" With The Sinclair Group’s PR team around, her antics wouldn’t make it to the news, though Ariston’s high society wasn’t that large, so it wasn’t surprising the old man knew.
The third brother sighed again, "Be honest with your dad, are you doing this to spite me?" Nowadays, Naomi was essentially a young female version of the third brother. Though he didn’t dare get angry with her, he was still traditionally minded when it came to girls.
Naomi glanced at him, "Dad, you think too highly of yourself. I’m simply enjoying life. No matter how advanced medicine gets, it probably won’t allow me to live to your age, so I’m just fine as I am."
The third brother pursed his lips, continuing to mumble, "As long as you’re happy."
"Besides, I’ve given up on Ethan Sterling now. Going after a married man isn’t great, so I’m currently interested in Leon Sterling." Naomi didn’t hold back even in front of her dad.
The third brother felt a bit uncomfortable but didn’t know what to say. After hesitating for a while, he said, "As long as you’re happy."
Naomi blinked and smiled again, "Yes, I’m quite happy."
When they got home, Seven, the oldest dog, rushed out to greet them, while Eight lazily lounged in Aidan’s lap, enjoying a head massage. Upon seeing the third brother and Naomi, Number Nine immediately squawked in a raspy voice, repeating "Old man, old man, stinky girl, stinky girl," equally distributing its remarks, sparing no one.
Aidan Sinclair cleared his throat and said seriously, "Are you two deliberately against me?"
