Childhood Sweethearts: He's Jealous Again!-Chapter 905: Sports Meet 2
Chongchong was preparing to sneak onto the sports field.
"Chongchong, where are you going?" Ping Guoguo, who had been drawing in her notebook, immediately threw her a puzzled look.
In a hurry to leave, Chongchong whispered, "I’m going to watch Chenchen’s 100-meter run."
"I want to go too!" Upon hearing that she was skipping class, Ping Guoguo’s eyes lit up instantly.
With such a fun thing happening, how could she not join in the fun?
"What are we waiting for? Let’s go!" Chongchong reached out her small hand to take Ping Guoguo’s hand.
And so, the two girls sneaked out of the classroom and headed to the back sports field of the junior high section.
Because it was sports day, the field was packed with people everywhere.
"There are so many people!" Ping Guoguo couldn’t help but exclaim, and then asked, "Did you see your Brother Chenchen?"
"Not yet..."
Chongchong shook her head.
There were just too many people on the field, and she was too short, so she could only see the people around her and not further ahead.
"No way, we need to stand somewhere higher." Chongchong came up with an idea and pulled Ping Guoguo over to stand on a nearby stone platform.
Although standing there didn’t make them much taller, it was enough for Chongchong to spot where Chenchen’s class was located.
The little girl immediately said excitedly, "Guoguo, I can see Brother Chenchen’s class, he must be there."
"Then let’s go find him!"
"Let’s go!"
The two little girls weaved through the group of older kids again.
On the field, in Class 1 of the first year.
As soon as they arrived, Chongchong saw Chenchen putting on his number tags.
She blinked and suddenly started walking quietly towards him on tiptoe.
Just as she reached out to cover his eyes, as if Chenchen had anticipated it, he turned his head to look at her, "What do you think you’re doing?"
He squinted slightly, eyeing her hand suspended in mid-air.
Chongchong was taken aback and quickly pulled back her hand, "Nothing, nothing."
Damn!
She was sure she had walked so quietly; how did he even notice her?
"Wondering how I caught you?" The boy guessed her confusion from her facial expression.
"Yes."
Chongchong nodded truthfully.
"Your shadow." He shrugged, clarifying her doubt.
He had just been attaching his number tags to his clothes when he caught sight of a small shadow on the ground out of the corner of his eye.
Chongchong: "..."
"Aren’t you supposed to be in class right now? How did you sneak out?" Chenchen changed the topic, frowning as he looked at her.
"I want to watch your race." Chongchong looked up, meeting his eyes with her little face.
The bright afternoon sun cast a soft glow on her small face and her eyes were filled with joy.
After pressing his lips together momentarily, Chenchen said, "But you shouldn’t skip class."
"It’s okay, it’s just a self-study class, it doesn’t matter if I go or not." The little girl murmured, lacking confidence.
"That still doesn’t make it right." Chenchen stated unequivocally, "Go back."
There was no way Chongchong was going back, she clung to his white sports shirt with a pitiful plea, "Can’t you let me stay? Your race is starting soon, I want to watch it before going back!"
"It won’t take too long, please..."
Chenchen relented, "Alright, alright, I don’t have time to argue with you, I need to go compete."
"What about me?" Chongchong pointed to herself, looking at him expectantly.
Chenchen said, "Once you’ve watched, you have to go back to class right away."
