"Is this the end?"

The room gave Myne a familiar feeling, much like the other small rooms he had been in, but this one was significantly larger. It was a rectangular room, about 15 to 20 meters long, with statues of demons installed in all four corners. In the middle of the room, a huge circle was drawn on the floor.

Myne cautiously placed one foot on the edge of the circle, wondering which evil cult would show their artistic talent in this unknown dungeon. To his surprise, nothing happened.

"Well, it seems like a false alarm," Myne muttered, raising an eyebrow. "Then it shouldn't be a problem to walk forward, but those statues are giving me a bad feeling." He slowly walked toward the centre of the circle.

One step, two steps… then three steps.

As he reached the centre of the circle, the atmosphere in the room changed. The demonic statues in the corners of the room began to move.

"Stone statues having thunder magic? What kind of logic is this?" Myne's eyes twisted in disbelief. "It doesn't make sense. Shouldn't they have earth magic or summoning magic?" He had seen enough skills and had long ago realised how bizarre many creature skill sets could be. Most of them didn't make sense, but they existed.

"But why are those gargoyles here at all? Are they bosses of this floor or just random mobs? Unique magic for mobs seems a bit too much. By the way, I wonder what the difference is between their thunder and my lightning magic."

Myne watched as the gargoyles turned their heads toward him, their eyes shining with an evil red glint. He muttered to himself before skillfully stealing a skill from a random, unlucky gargoyle.

The gargoyles had dog-like faces with long, pointed teeth and sharp, extended nails. Huge wings grew on their backs, and their entire bodies were made of stone. While Myne was busy stealing their skills, they also flapped their wings and flew into the air, ready to take action and deal with the uninvited guest who had disturbed their sweet sleep.

Just as Myne was wondering why the gargoyles weren't rushing forward and were just flying in the air without doing anything, he suddenly felt a gust of wind pass by him. But that was all. Nothing else happened, leaving him and the gargoyles in confusion.

"…?"

"Did they just attack me?" Myne realised that the entire room was deep underground, and there was no way a sudden gust of wind could just come and go. It didn't take long for him to figure out that the gargoyles had already started playing their tricks. What he didn't understand was what they had done and why it had no effect on him.

"Maybe they are too weak?" Myne looked at his own level, which was close to 150. With the extra enhancement he got from the gaming world, it would be a miracle if low-level mobs like these gargoyles could even scratch him, let alone give him a decent fight.

The gargoyles saw that their racial skill, Demon Eyes of Fear, which could make their prey fall into a panic and have a chance to be stunned for several tens of seconds, was not taking effect on Myne, even though all four of them were using it together to significantly increase its power. They looked at each other, realising that this opponent was not simple. They nodded and rushed forward, ready to use their ultimate weapon after getting close to Myne.

But to their surprise, after they got close to Myne, they couldn't use their Unique Magic Thunder, no matter how hard they tried. Instead, Myne gave them a mocking smile. The next moment, under their horrified gaze, Myne's entire body was surrounded by blue thunder.

His hair stood on end, his eyes turned blue with lightning flashing in them, and with a loud thunderous boom, a white light covered the entire room. A giant explosion, full of thunder and lightning, spread everywhere from his body, destroying everything in its path.

Upon Myne regaining his vision, the dust settled to reveal him standing in the middle of a two-meter-deep crater with no gargoyles in sight.

"Well, I overdid it this time. It's felt like using a giant fireball to kill a mosquito," Myne chuckled to himself. "And people say gargoyles are immune to magic attacks. It's not that they're immune; it's just that the people attacking them are too weak to break through their defences."

Shaking his head, Myne walked out of the crater, ready to move forward.

"Hmm? What's this?" Myne's eyes landed on a spherical stone on the ground that emitted a large amount of magic. He picked it up with deep interest and used his appraisal skill on it, realising it was a Gargoyle's core. Undead stone creatures like gargoyles and golems all have a magic core that acts as their heart and the source of their magic.

"If I were a poor adventurer, this would be a nice loot," Myne said with a lack of interest, but he still threw the core in his hand and the remaining three on the ground into his inventory. He decided to give them to Aisha and Sylphy as a gift. After all, this was their clan's first mission, and it would be good to collect some souvenirs.

"Now, where to go next?" Myne looked around but couldn't find any other doors or teleportation crystals to move deeper into the dungeon. He used some of his skills, but he didn't have any specific skill for investigation, and the dungeon itself was a bit weird. Even if he did have such a skill, it probably wouldn't work.

"Forget it. It's better to leave this kind of brain-burning work to the girls," Shaking his head, Myne opened a portal in front of him and waited for a few seconds before Aisha and the others walked out.

"So, you finally found the end of the maze. Nice, I'm proud of you," Aisha said, rubbing Myne's hair and treating him like a child. Myne gave her a cold look, but she didn't care and instead looked at the room, which appeared as if someone had thrown a giant bomb in it.

"Just what kind of enemy were you facing that you caused so much destruction?" Sylphy asked with a frown.

"Gargoyles. Impressed?" Myne replied with a hint of pride in his voice, obviously very satisfied with his explosive art.

"Huh? For a second, I thought you fought dragons. Did you have to go this far just to deal with a few gargoyles?" Sylphy gave Myne a speechless look, as if she were looking at a prodigal who didn't care about wasting mana at all.

"Myne, there seems to be a door over there!"

Myne followed Waffle's pointed direction, but there was nothing. Confused, he went near the wall, and suddenly a door appeared out of nowhere.

"A hidden passage! So that is the way to move forward. Thankfully, we have Waffle; otherwise, it would have been hard to find it," Aisha said, feeling relieved and praising Waffle, which made him immensely proud.

"Myne, look over here!" Just then, they heard Sylphy's high-pitched voice. What she had found was a tremendously large pool of blood spreading all over the floor.

"And there are traces of something being dragged into the darkness."

"This is a lot of blood. It's not from a single person. There were several... no, a considerable number of people."

As they got near the blood, everyone's nose caught a rusty iron smell mixed in with the blood.

"Myne, this blood is still warm!" Ted, who had the strongest nose among them, spoke with a frown and looked at the darkness ahead.

"Do you think the people who came ahead of us haven't left yet and are still inside?" Sylphy asked worriedly.

"Is there even a need to ask? Obviously, those guys are still playing hide-and-seek with us. I wonder what's wrong with their brains. Is money more important than their lives?" Aisha shook her head. "Despite knowing that they are no match for the monsters deep in the dungeon, they still insist on challenging them. This is simply a suicide attempt."

"Let's go. We can ask them personally what's wrong with their brains if they're still alive." Myne didn't have as many thoughts as his wives. He simply looked at the blood before continuing to walk forward, not caring whether some random cannon fodder lived or died.

As they followed the traces of blood that were dragged along, they found stairs that continued down into the depths of the floor.
