"This is Mai Sakurajima, from Class 3-1. We're both friends of Rei Ao-kun."

Aisumi's eyes lit up. "That's quite a coincidence!"

"You're also his friend?" Mai asked, frowning.

"No."

Even though she sounded excited, her answer was a shake of the head.

If she wasn't a friend, why was she joining in?

Mai thought: Is this another fangirl wanting to confess?

"Actually, Rei Ao-kun helped me out once, and I've been trying to figure out how to thank him."

Seeing Mai's gaze grow more suspicious, Aisumi hurried to explain. She didn't want to be taken for some weirdo.

"So, since you two are friends of his, I wanted to ask: do you know what sorts of things he likes?"

She clasped her hands together earnestly.
