Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 263: A little Messy - II
"It’s slightly messy," Dante winced as he looked over the bloody face of the maid before looking over to the woman standing next to her; ``Meena, "what is this really necessary? You kind of went all out on her."
The woman looked like she had been broken through and through. Blood was coming out of every area of skin that was uncovered by clothes. Bones were twisted and poking out of the skin, not to mention how she kept on groaning.
Meena on the other hand shrugged, " I was supposed to get all of the information. She revealed it when I started cutting her fingers."
Salvatore’s eyes sharpened. "so she was responsible for this."
"Yes, sir."
His wife had been anxious for no reason at all. The maid was responsible and accountable for what Evelyn had accused her of.
He had to tell Evelyn about this. At least she would stop worrying about it then.
"What did she say?" He asked Mina while staring at the maid who was in and out of consciousness.
"She is working for someone, who? She does not know that. She never met any of the higher-ups, just someone on the low level who was paying her to do this."
"A dead end then." Dante concluded the short story. "she doesn’t know who, at most she can just give us the address or leads to that man but then what? It’s not like he would know anything."
The maid was a dead end. If she did not know, if she could not point out to one particular person in the inner circle then she was of no use.
She was definitely fucking planted for this. They sent a dead end on purpose.
Maybe, if luck was on their side which it rarely was, that man would know or have a link to one of the men in the inner circle but that was I hope that they were banking on which once again could not be focused at.
"What to do next?" Dante turned his eyes at Salvatore, "she was in your house and in your room."
" I will tell Marco." The first few things would be to cut down on staff. Their salaries will be increased but there only had to be a distribution of responsibilities in a few hands that they could trust at the moment. His men also have to start patrolling inside the house just to keep an eye on everything.
This had been too close, too close for his liking and he could never risk anything like this again.
"take care of her." He nodded towards the woman. He had other things to take care of.
******
"This?" Arabella pointed towards the bright red bow that was kept on the table to which Salvatore nodded and retrieved it for her.
knowing that the little girl would not be able to use it properly, keeping it on top of her hair before raising her up so that she could see herself in the mirror.
His little child giggled and he passed her a smile before gently placing her on the floor and patting her back, "Go now, play."
Apparently, the little toddler had gained access to his office. She had traced his footsteps and would come knocking on his door which would certainly turn out to be a problem in the future.
"Don’t let her come in until you inform me, alright?" He stared down the guard who was watching his door to the office.
"Yes, sir." On receiving a curt nod of the head and an answer, Salvatore entered his study and closed the door behind him.
Dante, Michelle and Marcelo were already inside. taking his seat behind the desk, he gave a pointed look towards Michelle to start the meeting.
"The lead the woman gave us was practically useless, that man only had access to a capo."
A capitan. That was useless. Not only was that useless, it was also time consuming.
Not to mention that captains were usually surrounded by people and if they had to extract the man, that would be a declaration of war. A detailed plan would also take time for both planning and execution.
"Keep your eyes on the capo." He said instead and the command was directed towards Marcelo. "From there we will come to know about the framework of that organisation."
All out attacks were necessary but more necessary was the planning on how they were going to get carried out before execution. That came after when they knew who was where and when.
"until then?"
Salvatore swirled his chair towards his brother who had asked the question. Marcelo was relatively new and his profound impatience was understood.
However, it was not something he was going to tolerate especially in front of him, the dawn. Stakes were high and if it had been the other members Marcelo’s disobedience would have been questioned.
"Everything is a waiting game now. Do you think he’s attacking us by just looking at us? He took weeks, months in fact maybe years to understand how the working goes around here. That is how you attack, that is how you crack an organisation open."
Salvatore shook his head, "you have barely made my guard. Give it time until you understand everything."
******
"The maid got caught."
He cracked a smile. "Of course she did. She was collateral damage who was meant to be caught."
"but who is going to get the rest of the work done? That was our only spy willing to work inside the house."
"They don’t know that." The boss pointed out. " The fact that someone else got in and sneaked around for information is enough to send Salvatore d’Alessandro in a frenzy and I am going to feed on it."
They were all the same and they were all going to give in to the craziness in their blood. The one that flowed in their veins.
Like father like son, only this time the target would not be missed.
