Chapter 250: Her husband - I

Despite the absence of Salvatore, that she felt in her heart, Alexis and Angelo seemed to be enjoying their lunch with Arabella.

Even though it seemed like he loved to irritate and piss off his son, Angelo was truly a changed Man in front of her daughter. He played with her, he interacted with her well, it did not feel like for one second he was a cruel heartless man who did not give a shit about anyone.

"Would you excuse me for a moment?" Evelyn got up and was about to say—

"about to go and make up with that son of mine?" Angelo sighed, "a touchy boy, he is. I wonder when he will grow up."

"Oh stop," Alexis laughed lazily. "That is enough for today."

Evelyn pulled her lips into a tight smile before taking leave. Surely the men knew when to stop but Angelo didn’t.

The man would cross all boundaries just for fun.

She made her way inside the mansion through the door behind the living room for the family. There were two options, he could either be in his office or he could be in his bedroom.

Evelyn let her instinct decide where to lead her. She found herself walking towards the office and knocking at the door before standing there, waiting.

Just when she was about to take a step back, the door was ripped open in front of her, making her flinch slightly.

"What?" Salvatore barked out, making her jump again.

Evelyn glanced at the room behind him before pointing towards it, "can I come in?"

He did not answer her, just moved back into the room before pointing at her to close the door which she did. After that Evelyn took a seat in front of his chair.

"Now," he repeated, "what?"

Salvatore was the man who was almost always serious. This time he looked more like a person who was angry. Anyone being angry was normal but when a huge man, muscular than many, was angry, it seemed like a dangerous one to be in the presence of.

" Your father was just teasing you. He admitted to pissing you off." Evelyn releyed, "I don’t think it’s the first time. Why do you let him get to you?"

If she had a relationship with her father where they both continuously reached each other, then she would know better than to take everything to heart. She would just let it go.

"I know that." He scoffed before shaking his head a little and taking the seat behind his desk. "Is that all?"

There was something she felt bad about being dismissed like that. He had no right to do that.

"What is the matter with you?" She hissed, her face contorted into a disgusted expression. "What’s up your ass?" 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

"Out."

She scoffed, louder than he did. "Really? I thought we had been over this. Are you still not over the fact that I ran away and it was our fault?"

Salvatore glared at her. "You don’t the know the rep—"

"explain this to me," Evelyn held up a finger "as if making a point which she was, how is it that you want to talk about repercussions and reputation with me when you told no one that I had run off?"

"No one knows that I ran away, except for your close family members, meaning it should not be a problem for you since you and I were underground in the first place. If no one knows, what kind of reputation or applications are you talking about?!"

Almost out of breath, Evelyn stared at him, waiting for an answer. That one explanation that was going to answer everything going in her mind.

Salvatore, unlike her, did not look like anything had been out of place. He was not breathing heavily, and she was sure that her cheeks were red.

"Do you really wish to know?" He replied, very slowly unlike what she had been expecting him to do.

She had low-key expected him to go off like a volcano at this point.

"Tell me," she urged. All of a sudden, the matter looked more serious than it seemed or how she had originally thought it to be.

There was something beneath the surface that was going deep and she did not know about it.

He sighed before leaning back on his chair. " apparently, as someone is claiming, someone knows that you ran away. Someone has been keeping an eye on you and that person has gone as far as to send me pictures of you that I know are authentic."

"What?" She mumbled.

"Yes," he confirmed. " not only you, your photos I also have the photos of our daughter. And I don’t have it from one country, I have it in multiple places and it looks to me that someone else was following you as well."

"That is very bad, isn’t it?" Evelyn could feel her breath starting to quicken. She was about to go into a panic mood. Her fingers gripped the edge of the chair as she waited for him to confirm.

He nodded. "It is." He breathed in deeply. " that’s out of thing is fucked up but not only that, it means the news can be out and that will be dangerous for you."

Of course it would be. Once you ran away, you were out of the protection of the house you were in. That was very dangerous. That meant like someone running out in the open with the red flag on their back, ready to be shot down at any point.

"Salvatore," she licked her lip, "what are you going to do about it? What about Arabella?" they would never kill a child but it could certainly be used as leverage.

Within seconds, she found him up from his seat and kneeling before her. Salvatore, very gently pried off her fingers from the chair and placed it in his hands, holding them tightly.

"there is one thing I want you to know, absolutely nothing is going to happen to you or my child." He whispered to her, looking directly into her eyes, allowing her to believe every word he said. " absolutely nothing, Evelyn."
