Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 247: A happy family- III
It was bath time and bath time was the favourite time of her daughter. In fact it was the highlight of the day.
"Ducky duck," Arabella smashed the two dogs together before talking to herself and mumbling out an entire play that was going on.
Evelyn smiled at the sight of a child enjoying it. When she had been on the run, it had been difficult to pay bills and it was hardly ever that she could give Arabella a good bath time with a good amount of water. That was not a problem now. Once in a while, Bella could enjoy.
Evelyn heard a distant ping of her phone. Leaving her child in the bathroom, she got up and pointed in to her nanny who immediately took her spot.
Iona, even though it hurt her to admit, was quite a good substitute in case she was not available for Arabella.
Evelyn picked up her phone and settled down on the bed in the other corner of the room. Opening her messages she immediately felt a huge load of guilt hit her when she saw who had texted her and how many times it had been.
It was Matt and she had not texted him in awhile. A while would define the time ever since Salvatore had figured out what she needed the most and it was his attention.
She had completely forgotten about her long lost friend and because of that he was now texting her to know if she was alive or not or had she lost her phone.
For a moment, Evelyn believed that she was the worst kind of friend ever.
’Hey,’ she texted back, ’I apologise for not replying. Having a kid makes you more busy than one could think of. I will try to reply to you more.’
For a moment you did feel guilty but The amount of sleepless nights that she had experienced with Arabella made it worth it. She could use her child to get out of one or two things.
His reply was immediate. ’That’s fine. I hope everything is well for you?’
’Yes, it is. We worked out a lot of stuff. In fact my husband has started to take more time off from work to spend time with us. Got to go, bye!’
This excuse would work well. Without waiting for him to send his reply and continue the conversation, Evelyn turned off the screen and placed her phone on the table before going back in and relieving the nanny.

Salvador read Arabella a story. This one was completely different from her regular fairytales. But a good one nonetheless. Even she felt sleepy by the end of it and was about to do those of had it not been a pinch from her husband.
She glared at him but didn’t say anything knowing that her daughter had just fallen asleep. Waiting for a moment or two, they left after making sure that the child had fallen asleep.
"Come here," he pulled her close and hugged her from the side, "why do you look like you’re so tired all of a sudden?"
"I just feel like I am."
Her husband nodded silently. She felt a little suspicious when he did not voice out any concerns or argue. But when they silently walked towards her room she felt like this was for the better. A headache was on its way and her lower back hurt. There was no explanation why this was happening but she could just feel more body pain come her way.
Just like before, they came to her room and Salvatore took his clothes off. Would it be bad if she said that she was not in the mood? Would it be wrong?
"Climb in," he patted her ass before walking towards the bed, "you need a good night’s rest."
Her heart started to warm as she walked towards the bed and climbed inside just like he did. They faced each other before Salvatore turned around to turn off the lamps and the lighting of the room.
"I think you worry about tomorrow." He said after sometime, "you are anxious."
For a second she blinked her eyes in confusion before it hurt her. Evelyn ground loudly. Tomorrow was the day Arabella was going to get introduced to Angelo. Even though Alexis was going to be there, the thought of Angelo meeting her daughter was a scary.
"It’s just a brunch." she tried to tone down the tensions that now bubbled inside her. " Plus Alexis would be there."
"Yes, she would." He agreed. " but my mother knows better than to interrupt my father in anything he says. That is one of the things she has to do as a wife of an important man."
Important man? He should say a man whose biggest fear was to be respected. An ounce of disrespect shown towards him and gone and punished could leave them in a shitload of trouble. That, even she knew.
"I know." She replied softly. "Are you worried about tomorrow? What do you think your father is going to say for her?"
Evelyn did not hear his reply immediately but the shuffling and the dip in the bed near her made her feel that he had come closer. Especially when she felt his hands on her cheek. Being in the dark did not help.
"There is nothing he can say or do that would drive Arabella away from us. She is my daughter and yours and at the end of the day I will have to finally say, yes?"
Her heart warmed again. It almost felt impossible that the man who had the hardest shell and inside that anyone could have ever come across was trying to erase her insecurities.
But there was nothing hotter than a man doing that effortlessly. He said what she just wanted to hear.
No words could express what she felt. So instead of saying anything, she went close and touched his lips after feeling where they were.
She may have fallen in love with him.
