Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 240: I’m sorry- II
First things first, she went to her daughter’s room.
She silently walked up the stairs making sure that her feet made no sound. Reaching a way to the door of her daughter’s room which was opened, Evelyn peaked inside to find the nanny standing in the corner of the room keeping an eye on her daughter who was sitting on the floor and playing with Barbies.
Evelyn put her first step inside, half expecting Iona to leave at the sight of her but the woman nodded and took a seat in the corner of the room, making herself scarce immediately.
The command given to her by Salvatore was not yet taken back and nanny was definitely going to go through with it.
"Baby?" She whispered and arabella looked up with her wet eyelashes blinking away as she went and the red nose twitching.
"Hi mommy," her voice cracked and that broke her heart.
Barely keeping her tears from falling down, Evelyn took a seat on the ground next to her daughter. The little toddler at the sight of which her heart broke constantly. She had done that. A useless mother she saw.
She did not pick up Arabella yet. Instead she addressed her daughter, " Mommy to the bad thing my love. And it hurt you. I am really sorry for not checking the milk temperature."
Arabella left and her big eyes started to gather tears in, making Evelyn close her eyes and allow the tears to fall down before picking up her daughter and placing her onto a lap. She hugged the little girl tightly.
"Mummy is so sorry, baby. I swear to God I will never make this mistake again!" Her voice cracked but she still controlled the cries just so she could understand what she was saying.
"It’s okay, mummy," arabella hiccupped, "but never again, please."
"Never, my love," Evelyn cried Into the shoulder of a little baby before taking in the baby scent. "Never again."

It took her some time to calm herself down and then calm Arabella. But then they had retired to the other bed in the room.
Her bedroom had two beds. When was the baby cradle that had the barricade around her so that Arabella would not roll on the ground and the other side had a single bed.
The single bed was at the moment occupied by two people in it.
The baby was on top of her as Evelyn kept on patting the baby back and letting her baby sleep. This was something that would happen on a common basis but unlike being on the bed Evelyn would be sitting on a ratty couch.
Moments like these just brought her closer to her and she cherished them.
Slowly she heard the door open and her eyes found Salvatore entering the room. He gave a nod to Iona who bowed her head and left the room.
Evelyn continued to pat the back of her daughter as her eyes remained on Salvatore who now occupied a small area on the foot of the bed, near her feet.
"She asleep?"
"Yes," evelyn nodded, "Is everything alright?"
Salvatore stretched his lips into an unimpressed smile but shook his head. " I reacted too much."
Evelyn nodded slowly, making no rushed or quick moments to wake her daughter up. " I made a huge mistake, Salvatore. I don’t know how I am going to make up for it but I will."
The words were on the tip of her tongue and she was considering whether to say them or not. It would be right to and she knew that but if she said then then he would stand unguilty.
Damn it.
" thank you for reacting the way you did," she said, "I won’t have been as quick as you were."
Nope, Evelyn would have panicked at first, asked her daughter what was the matter, then would have the realisation come to her that Arabella had taken a sip of hot milk.
Salvatore, on the other hand, had been completely in control of the situation. It did not even take seconds for his mind to grasp the fact that Arabella had cried out after drinking something from the sipper. He snapped at her to get the ice. And before she brought the ice which took some time Salvador was already making her drink cold water.
None of which she would have done as quickly as he did.
He sighed heavily, "Two years, Evelyn. For the past two years I have spent my time alone in this walls, underground, working myself to death. I’m not exactly doing you fair justice, am I?"
She chuckled bitterly, "Have I done you any good?"
She was the reason why he, in fact, both of them turned out the way they had. Even though the mistake was on her head it was not something that she could be entirely blamed for. The circumstances paved the way as it had been then.
"Yes," he agreed to the unsaid words, " but we have something that can bring us together."
The patting did not seize. "We do." She agreed too.
"I don’t understand the compromise." She saw him gulp. "I don’t know the word adjustment, I do not know anything where I have to bow my head as well. My parents did not compromise. Sure, my mother found the loopholes but if my father wanted something to be gone, it was gone."
"I’m not going to say and lie that I am going to be the perfect fucking husband but I’m going to try to be one, Evelyn." He looked over to her. "Can you do it?"
Her eyes glistened over and she repeatedly blinked to get them away. She was so close to getting what she wanted. Even if it was with one of the most dangerous men in the world, she was going to have what she wanted, in bits and pieces, but yes.
"Yes," she nodded frantically, "I will do anything, Salvatore." Anything and she meant it.
