Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 238: Hanging out - II
Hang out? That was certainly a foreign term that he chose to say.
What kind of hanging out was expected when he was talking to her about meeting along with him while they stood in between five gods armed from head to toe?
Either Matt had always been like this or he had clearly forgotten how things work which was not really possible because he had stayed under the wing of her father.
"No, thank you. Evelyn smiled and shut him down gently. "I’m here with my family and I must get back to them."
Giving him one last flash of a smile, she said, "it was nice meeting you. Have a nice day." Before she around and left with the barrier of guards around her.
"Mrs. Angelo Alessandro is in the first shop." The guard informed her the moment she pulled out her phone. Sighing, she nodded and pushed her phone in. Good to know.
Walking towards the shop, she was met with a tired Arabella and thanked god. If her daughter was on the verge of falling asleep, then half of her work was done.
Slipping into the seat next to her mother-in-law, she whispered, "How did you get her tired?"
Alexis chuckled, "after four kids, I know its the best to let them into the playground for kids in the malls." Alexis pointed to the place where kids were playing with toys and swings. "I was watching her the entire time," she added as if to please Evelyn’s motherly concerns.
"It’s fine," the young mother waved it off, "I trust you."
If this woman was alive after raising four kids of Angelo de’alessandro and with two being a set of twins, she could handle Arabella just fine.
With some coffee and a good, small chat, they were out of the mall and on the way to their respective homes. Arabella was in the arms of her mother who was carrying her daughter upstairs. The toddler was out as a light and Evelyn was not going to disturb her. She was tired too and had every intention of sneaking a snap for herself too.
Lying her daughter on her bed, she nodded to Iona who was present by the door before walking to her own which had a door as Salvatore had said.
For a moment, she stopped at the door and stared at it. The bloody handprint came to her mind and she huffed. Now was not the time. This was the proof to why she needed a good night’s sleep and that too, desperately.
The moment she hit the bed, her phone pinged and she groaned. Could she not get two minutes or twenty to herself?
She tapped the screen in frustration and swiped across to see that it was matt.
’Are you alright? You looked a little stressed earlier.’
Evelyn scoffed. Of course, she was stressed. She had spent the previous night chatting with him and going to the mall to shop for the kid had taken a toll on her.
’Nothing much, I’m just tired,’ she wrote, ’Thanks for checking in.’
Knowing that he was going to continue and won’t stop, she waited for the bubbles to appear and they did, right after which came to his reply,
’Kids can be tough, I know that for sure. My roommate got a girl pregnant and that was hell.’
Even though she wanted to smack the hell out of him, the story seems too interesting to pass up.
’Uh huh,’ she wrote, ’tell me more.’

By the end of the evening when her phone screamed to have it charged, Evelyn noticed the time and moved downstairs only to find Arabella coming down as well with her Nani.
"Hi mommy," she waved at evelyn, "snacky time?"
Evelyn nodded and directed her arm into the direction of her daughter who immediately cleaned onto her small finger.
Together they walked downstairs and into the kitchen where Evelyn started to prepare some fruits for them as an evening snack.
She still felt incredibly tired. Instead of taking her nap she had gotten into the gossip and back story of how the roommate of Matt had gotten someone pregnant and apparently had to make them stay at his house.
The story had been very interesting and the only source of gossip she had unless she actually decided to go out without put another conversation she would need have the Salvatore.
And if she ever had this conversation with him, it was going to be something about security hazards and what not.
In this life people would try to cosy up to her because of Salvatore and his position. So, it was difficult to find someone who would actually be interested in friendship with her. That might be the reason why Evelyn did not even try to make friends with mafia wives.
"Here you go," she put a plate with fruits in front of her and then kept one in front of them.
Her daughter thanked her and the moment Evelyn was about to take a bite of the fruits of a tour into the kitchen making Arabella shriek in delight.
He immediately went for his daughter and Evelyn smiled at the scene before taking a bite of her food. Her daughter had managed convinced Salvatore to make her sit on his lap so that she could eat food better and that was the best thing she has ever seen.
She sighed and looked down at her plate and fiddled with the food.
"Evelyn?"
She looked up and found him looking at her already. "Yes?"
"Why do you look so tired?" His eyes narrowed. "she can sleep the entire night on her own. See you should not be this tired with one trip to the mall."
One trip to the more was not the reason for high tide Ness. It was the lack of sleep with what she was busy doing.
"Nothing," she waved it off, " I don’t know why I just feel tired." She looked like it too but she hoped that he would buy it.
By one glance at him, it was obvious that Salvador did not. That only left her with one option which was to ignore and avoid him at all costs.
