Chapter 233: A happy fam - II

Arabella’s gleeful shriek brought a smile to evelyn’s face. Out of all the swings that salvatore had installed, the twirling slide was her favorite. So much so, that evelyn had a hard time getting her off of it.

It had not even been a week and Salvatore had installed swings for his daughter along with many other things. He had taken up the role of doting father almost immediately and Evelyn was quite surprised with how comfortable her daughter had been all of his.

Arabella had no problem in being spoiled.

"Hey," Evelyn turned around to find Salvatore standing next to her.

"Hi," she whispered and looked away from his face. Looking at him up close definitely affected her heart. So close that she could smell his cologne.

"How has she been?"

She smiled, "Good," she answered. "I am having a hard time pulling her away from the swings. Almost threw a tantrum when I pulled her out for lunch."

"She loves them?’’ Was that a hint of uncertainty?

"She does." Evelyn answered, "I don’t think she has ever loved anything more than she loves empty swings."

Salvatore sighed next to her. "Good."

Evelyn bit back her smile. No one would have believed that Salvatore felt pressured by the likes and dislikes of a little girl who might not even reach his knees.

"Papa!" Arabella ran into his leg and hugged it before popping her head and looking up at him. "You’re home!"

That smile that stretched on almost half of her face made Evelyn smile at her antics.

"Yes," Salvatore picked her up, "I am. Miss me?"

"Uh huh," she nodded, "you should stay home more."

Oh, wow. Her daughter was very bold as compared to her.

"Should I?" Salvatore chuckled, "I will consider it."

"Concider?"

"Think about it."

"Say yes," Arabella demanded while patting the cheek of Salvatore. "Please."

Evelyn chuckled again and just sighed before saying, "would it be right to say that she has you wrapped around her finger already?"

"I have a daughter, Evelyn. What do you expect?"

Nothing less than that.

"And then," Salvatore glanced at Arabella, "they got happily ever after."

"No," Arabella shook her head, "they lived happily forever!"

"Read properly, Salvatore." Evelyn pointed out with a cheeky smile, "the words written clearly at the end."

"Are they?" He muttered, giving her a side eye. "I did not notice."

"Aww," Evelyn mused, "I guess it happens for some people in their thirties."

Salvatore narrowed his eyes at her but Evelyn did not back away. Instead, she smirked back at him.

"That’s okay," Arabella chirped, unaware of the two, "read more now?"

Evelyn groaned and buried her face into the curls of her daughter. "No, now you have to sleep. No more stories for you."

"Mummy, no," Bella shook her head, "one? Please?"

"No—’

"Just one," Salvatore agreed and Evelyn glared at him for doing so. "And it will be my choice now."

With that said, he picked up a pirate’s book and Arabella groaned. "Noo.."

"Yes," Salvatore picked up the book and started to read without waiting for her to say anything else and because of that, maybe because of the choice of the book, arabella was out by the speed of light.

It was surprising to see how much energy a two year old could carry. She had been up for an entire day and the only nap she took was fifteen minutes before she woke up and was running to the swings again.

The damned swings in her opinion. They should have tired the child enough to be out like a light the moment she hit bed but unfortunately, they had not.

Slowly, after exchanging a look, they left the bed before putting up the barricade and then moved out of the room after Evelyn switched on the night light.

She sighed a little, feeling the strain of the day when she felt a harsh force land on her bum making her yelp.

"Hey!" She turned around and stared at him in shock. "What was that for?"

"What do you think?" He cocked up my eyebrow. "Do you still think I do not know how to read?"

"Oh, that?" She chuckled and waved it off. "People make mistakes of all kinds. You really misread a clearly written line." With that said, Evelyn turned around quickly and hopped away.

She did not look back and increased the speed only to reach to the room and she was now staying in.

Evelyn turned around and closed the door shut only for a hand to appear at the frame in the very last second to stop it and it did so successfully.

Shit.

Salvatore pushed his way in and closed the door with the back of his foot. "Done?"

She gulped, "yeah."

He grinned before he stepped into her space and wrapped her ponytail around his waist only to pull on it and make her head face the roof.

"On the bed, on your knees, and," he breathed close to her ear, "ass up."

Evelyn’s mouth dried up. "But—Oh!" The spank which landed on her bottom made her shit up instantly at her walk to the bed to follow his instructions only to avoid aggregating him further.

With the pounding heart, she kneeled on the bed on all fours and breathed heavily before shifting and raising her bottom up into the air.

"You look for chances, Evelyn," she heard him say and come near him, "chances that I do not want to give to you but you end up stealing them."

She did. "I-I do?" But she won’t agree.

"Yes," she felt the bed dip. "Do you not think so?"

Evelyn did not answer. There was mor—"Ah!" She shrieked and turned back for another smack to follow. "Salvatore, stop!"

"Stop?" He repeated with a dirty chuckle. "Remind me, do you ever stop when needed, Evelyn?"

The answer to that was very clear.

"Exactly," he nodded behind her before cupping her asscheek, "I’ll continue then."
