Chapter 191: The flight - II

She was holding her child throughout the ride. Holding arabella to her heart was the easiest thing she could do to calm herself down.

Holding her child securely to her chest brought her calm and ease given that no one else would take her away.

The car ride was a smooth one. They were blending into the darkness and somehow it soothed her. Maybe she had grown accustomed to it, because at the end of the day, Evelyn had chosen to blend into the darkness so that she could get away from the one in her life.

She chuckled softly. How long did she consider being unseen and not caught by him? Turns out he knew exactly what was happening, he knew exactly where she was and it was obvious that he must know the people she had come in contact with.

The cars slowly rolled to a stop. The moment it had a complete standstill the driver and the person sitting in the passenger seat got out of it and opened their doors.

On getting out, mindful of a baby’s head not hitting the roof of the car, She glanced around the area and immediately came to the conclusion that it runs out of airport. It was a small one given that it was in a town or it might have been a private one.

"Come," Marcello came to stand next to her, placing his hand on the small of her back pushing her forward, lightly encouraging her to move into the direction of the jet.

Holding her baby securely in her arms, she did as directed.

Evelyn climbed up the stairs and there he stood..or sat.

Salvatore sat like a king in the chair attached on the floor of the jet. Even though he sat there very casually and with pleasure he still admitted the dominance and the fear into the hearts of people that knew him. Evelyn was sure that if someone who did not know about his true nature, walked in, they too would choke on how thick the air felt.

Marcello tapped her shoulder and she jumped out of it.

Salvatore did not even give her glance and regardless of that she had been staring at him. Realise what she had been doing, Evelyn hurriedly moved to the very end of the plane and occupied the seat that was empty.

This one had no seat facing towards it meaning that she did not have to look at anyone’s face but just at the back of the chair.

Slowly the space started to fill.

Marcello occupied the chair adjacent to where Salvatore was sitting. She was in the same row as Salvatore but at the very end.

Men in black which total in six also occupied some seats in the front and in the row were Marcello was siting.

Evelyn had already buckled herself in and also had buckled in her daughter in the first strand of the belt.

Air hostess and the steward came forward and after approving everything within minutes they were in the air.

"Ma’am," The air hostess came closer to her and bent down, "would you like to have a separate seat for the child? We have to gear."

Did she?

"No," Evelyn shook her head with a small, shaky smile, "Um.. no thank you—"

"She would." The Don’s voice rang out and who it was addressed to was also very clear.

The air hostess look back at Evelyn and gave her gentle, professional smile. "I will be back with the seat."

Evelyn watched her walk back and subconsciously held her daughter tighter who was still sleeping.

Arabella was definitely going to wake up in an hour or two and the child was going to trouble her because it was the first time she was ever going to be on an airplane.

First time on an airplane and on a non commercial flight was going to be heaven.

She had started to look out of the window without waiting for the air hostess to arise. The moment she did, Evelyn could hear her growing steps towards her making her look up.

The air hostess that arrived but with empty hands made a look at her with questioning eyes. Where was the seat?

The woman looked uncomfortable, "the don has requested to put it in the seat in front of him."

Evelyn craned her up slightly and and noted directly where he was sitting.

There was the booster seat meant for children. It was right in front of the seats where he sat and diagnosed with him making it obvious that she would definitely have to sit in front of him.

"Ma’am," the woman nudged her verbally. "please?"

Even the air hostess looked desperate. It was obvious that if Evelyn said no it would be a host dress who would have stayed the brunt.

No matter how much she did not want to go, it was obvious that having the girl punished because of what she did would not be the best idea for her conscience espeacially after what she had done to Giovanni.

Slowly, she unbuckled the seat belt and stood up with her daughter who was still sleeping soundly. Evelyn maintain her slow pace as she lowered her daughter into the child seat which was next to an empty one.

The woman she was done she stepped aside and occupied the window seat which was empty.

"Evelyn?"

She gulped and turns to look at the man who was sitting in front of her, staring at her as a analysing each and every thought in her head.

"Yes?" She was whispered knowing that he would be able to hear it.

"Do you want to keep the child?"

Her eyes widened, "yes." She hushed out. Of course she wanted to keep the child. There was nothing more than that for her to want.

He stood up making her crane her head to keep their stare. "Come then,* he said as he buttoned his suit jacket. "Follow me."
