Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 132: A bad feeling - I
Something bad was going to happen and Alexis could not help but try to shake the feeling off.
She had tried to divert herself from that constant nagging inside her chest but anything that she tried to do that did not help.
She had even ventured into the kitchen garden just to take her mind off but had failed to do so.
Something bad was going to happen.
"Alexis?" Angelo called from the entrance of the kitchen garden.
When she turned around she found him in his casual attire that were button down shirt and slacks. He was standing there leaning on the entrance with his hands inside his pockets.
"Yeah?" She called out without standing up because her hands were still muddy.
"Are you aware of the fact that you are not good at gardening?" Angelo cocked up an eyebrow. "You planted an aloe vera plant and that failed too."
Yes, that was true.
That was the very last thing that she had planted and had failed to do so. It was not that the plant had turned out to be returned or the seed was bad. It did not even grow.
"I am just patting the soil." She admitted. She looked down to see where the plants were coming out of the soil. All she had been doing was pressing the soil down and evening it.
He huffed. "Take off those gardening gloves and come to me."
Of course the billionaire was not going to enter the kitchen garden and dirty shoes.
Hiding her sneaky smile, Alexis got after dropping the gloves on the entrance. She came to a stop right in front of him but before he could say anything she wiped her muddy feet, she had been gardening barefoot, on his $10,000 shoes.
"Alexis," he hissed. "What the fuck?"
"Mud," she answered with an innocent shrug. "They look very pretty with a bit of brown on it." If anyone else had the shoes they would immediately assume that Angelo had stepped into some kind of poo.
He hissed and looked to the side. After almost 30 years of marriage with him, it did not take Alexis long to figure out what he was doing.
Angelo was counting till number 60 or even 120. He was trying to calm himself down.
"I’m Sorry," she whispered to him. It was a trick that she had learned. "I should not have done that."
Here, she had admitted her fault after he had begun to calm down himself.
He sighed before he encircled his arms around her waist and he rubbed the squish she now had. "Just.." he sighed again and shook his head. "What is it?"
"I have that feeling that something was going to happen." She did not beat around the bush. "You know I had these feelings whenever something happened. I don’t know why this one is just not going away. I have called every child and their security heads."
"And?" He prompted further.
Alexis gave him a negative shake off the head. "Lucas is in the hospital and he is fine. Salvatore and Evelyn are in the air, going god knows where and Bella Rosa and the twins are fine and her husband is out of the country, but from what I know, he is fine as well. Marcelo is sleeping off the Hangover." She rushed out in one breath.
Alexis had to agree on one thing. Power also brought security and the security was something she always used to shake off that feeling when something bad was supposed to happen, as and when she felt it.
With that power, she could know where her children were and how they were.
"Hmm," he hummed before kissing her lips, "so you know that everyone is fine but that feeling is still not going away?"
She shook her head and she could feel her lower lip trembling. This was a bad feeling. Alexis could even feel her hands shaking because of which she clenched them into fists.
"There was this feeling and it was only one time.." she gulped, "it was when Salvatore..."
"I know," he cut her off. "I know."
By the look on his face, Alexis knew that she had brought up the past that he had forbidden to be talked about.
But what she said was the truth. This feeling had been there when Salvador had been in the biggest trouble of his life and she had made sure that Angleo took care of it by telling him constantly how she felt.
He squeezed her bottom in reassurance. "I know how you behave that day. And I am still sorry for not listening to you. But this time as, far as I know Alexis, nothing has happened to any of our children and I will tighten their security as of now." He spoke each and every word firmly as his facial expressions were hardened into stone. Sincerity dripped from his face and she knew that when it came to his children and family, Angelo did not lie.
And this was the only incident that Angelo ever apologized for.
It was the only incident where Angelo had delayed what he was supposed to do just because he thought that she was wrong.
After that day, truly whenever Alexis felt like this he would step up and make sure that every one of the family members was secured.
But that feeling still gnawed on her insides. "It’s not going away." She whimpered in helplessness. It was going to make her cry with how much anxiety it was giving her. The shaking of hands was not stopping no matter how hard she had clenched them.
A frown creased his aging forehead and he took her clenched hands into his before trying them open and holding her hands in his.
"I am sorry, my love," he whispered the words to her, ever so mindful that no one was able to hear them except for her. "There is nothing more I can do but make sure that our children away okay." He kissed both of her hands. " That’s all I can do."
